I like the Peugeot style of the 208 and the 2008 but i cannot see away from the fact that for a the same price as the 2008 i can have 500+km range and 200hp on the Hyundai Kona....
Not a big fan of SUVs but still this looks like a really decent one. Peugeot’s styling is some of the best right now IMO. Shame it can’t quite do the magic 200+ miles, that would really seal the deal.

The Hyundai Kona electric (with the larger battery pack) is very much what the e3008 should have been if it had existed. I still have hopes that Pug will extract their head from their rear and see the light and release a good e3008 with a decent sized 75KW (or higher) battery pack, or Hyundai will bring out a v2 Kona electric with a good increase in energy density. At the moment Pug are delusional enough to be running Ads for the e2008 on searches for the Kona electric and that’s just sad.

I'm undecided on this. I like the look of this car and would fancy owning one but! Range.. It says 200 mile which would be fine but I've heard from several sources one of them a dealer that in reality its no where near that in real world conditions. My main drive is to start around 40 to 45 miles motorway / dual carriageway then A roads followed by B roads with hills and bends aplenty. Total driving distance 125 miles. Way shorter than the 200+ claimed range but given I do this trip all times of the year and mostly in the dark I am concerned I won't make it with a margin to spare. Recharging points along the way? Not really. A true real world test would be great, you can't go by claims or "guesstimates " .
Oversize wheels look "cool" but unfortunately they compromise ride comfort and refinement. Electric cars are silent and therefore accentuate this compromise. I even fitted 15 inch wheels on my Prius to reduce the harshness of the ride on the original 16s. I hate to think what 18s would feel like......An annoying trend a bit like pointless SUVs. Efficiency is key NOT ride height!!
yes you mention a Prius... most cars are designed for 17" these days and way more comfy than a Prius will ever be. avoid the "sport" suspension on an A4 Audi or 3-series BMW and you can drive for hours on the motorway and it will soak uneven roads in the city just fine. Prius is a soapy car with only one goal: efficiency.
I wonder if the harsh ride would mellow with time, i.e., it's stiffer to start with to deal with the extra stress from the weight of the batteries? I'm no engineer, so this is pure speculation.

Good looking car. Too bad that the ride comfort which is also a problem in the e-208. Guess they tuned the suspension for the combustion engine versions.

With electric vehicles it's the only way to compare mpg. A kWh costs you around 13p, less if you have an EV tariff from your electricity supplier. BEV cars do between 3.5 & 5.5 miles per kWh. So if your electricity cost 10p per kWh and your car did 5 miles per kWh that's 2p per mile. ICE cars are around 14p per mile. You pay extra for the battery (see price difference of 2008 v e2008) but as you are saving 12p per mile, a BEV is cheaper over time. How long depends on how far you drive each year.
