Jesus Loves Homosexuals - Part 1 - John 8:1-11 - Skip Heitzig

  • There is not a hotter or more controversial subject being discussed today in our country than homosexuality. Voices are loud and tempers run hot whenever this subject is mentioned. Although the text before us doesn’t deal specifically with homosexuality, it does show us how Jesus approached a woman caught in sexual sin and what He had to say to those who were quick to condemn her.
This teaching is from our series Jesus Loves People with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

I WAS A HOMOSEXUAL TRYING TO JUSTIFY JESUS TO ACCEPT ME THE WAY I AM BUT THE TRUTH IS GOD WANTS US TO CHANGE. I can happily say that through commit to to him he has CHANGED ME and I now aspire to have a family instead of marry another woman and live a lesbian lifestyle. Even when you have a child you expect them to change mentally physically etc so God definitely wants the same thing for us. If everyone were Gay no one could have children and life is a gift from God so imagine us being the last of our bloodline because we selfishly wanted to put our wants and need over Gods wants and needs. Jesus Christ is more fulfilling than anyone on earth that I ever dated loved or was involved with and he can be that for anyone who accepts him in their heart. 💜💜🥹🎉🙏🏽‼️ GOD BLESS

@@CGH250 No, Cheryl, you are mistaken. The Bible does NOT condemn homosexuality as an orientation anywhere in the book. It does condemn homosexual RAPE and homosexual PROSTITUTION, and it condemns heterosexuals turning against their own personal orientation and committing infidelity with members of the same gender. Of course, since HETEROSEXUAL rape, HETEROSEXUAL prostitution, and HETEROSEXUAL infidelity are equally sinful, being gay is no more a sin than being straight is. Remember, a person's sexual orientation is innate, natural, unchosen, unchangeable and benign. It's beyond the realm of sin, like eye color, height, and the hand you naturally use to write with. I hope this clears up your confusion.

You teach God's Word so throughly and even though you said you have fear, that is not stopping you from walking through it. @@tj-kv6vr That is not completely true. If a person has truly repented and through difficult circumstances has back slidden, they may regress for a while. God sees everything and none of us can. Trying to justify ANY sin is reprobate , trying to pretend that we have no sin while we are still in our corrupted flesh is a lie, and actually feeling the battle against it is repentance, the last one is every saved person's story. God sees a saved person through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We cannot lose our salvation, but we can lose our rewards in heaven and our physical life will be impacted. For us it comes down to "state" of life in this world, and for the lost person it is their "status" with God.

Rev. Skip, I just listen to your message about Jesus love for homosexuals. I was brought up in a family of 9 children. Our parents always taught us to love each respect all people. Growing up in a Pentecostal Holiness Church opened my eye after hearing the teachings of the leaders about gay people. It was always a hate filled type of teaching. I knew I was gay and knew better to say anything about it because of the stance that they took on the issue of homosexuality. I have alway love God but those kinds of teaching made me start turning away from any organized Christianity. I saw all church as haters instead of loving everyone as they should, A bitter pills was given to me against the church. In the homosexuality society, your known as evil and our enemies. But your sermon that I just watched has given me hope. Hope that someday I can return to a church and be welcomed with open arms. I know I’m a child of the king and his royal blood flows through my veins. Keep up your great teachings on love and acceptance for we are all gods children. Thank you and glory to God.

    I'm with the Apostle Paul;
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. Likewise today, Jesus foretold that it will be the same as it was in Noah's day before the flood - people will be eating and drinking and carrying on as normal without concern for the coming judgement that will take the vast majority by surprise - God's day is coming 'just as a thief in the night' and 'they' will by no means escape [destruction] - 1 Thessalonians 5:2 & 3

When everyone close to you in your life rejects you for one reason or another, it results in a deep heart and soul wound that completely annihilated your self-worth and self-esteem. If you stop there, you'll quickly think of suicide and may die as a result. But if you wait moment and realize the revelation that you had been gaining your self-worth from others, and now remember that God knew your soul before you were born, then formed your body in the womb and He died for you knowing that you'd be a sinner to offer His loving grace and eternal life to you personally, than you can obtain the self-worth and self-esteem that God Almighty has given to you and no one else can ever take it away from you again.

The woman caught in adultery passage is an “orphan” scripture. It is awkwardly placed in John 8, or sometimes somewhere in Luke. In John 8 it interrupts the flow of the narrative. Additionally, noone commits adultery alone. The passage begs us to ask the question who was the woman’s partner in the act and what became of him (or her)? Compare with Numbers 25:7-8 where Pinchas impales the guy and the gal together right while they are doing the deed.

@Maryann Mcnair .. you have lost focus - millions reject God and millions will not accept God's love, hence, millions will face destruction at judgement same as in Noah's day. Jesus foretold this - Matthew 24:37-39
Millions attend church - but millions will not see salvation - note Jesus' words at Matthew 7:21-23
Is he addressing atheists and agnostics and non-religious people and those from religions who have not put faith in him?
Read those verses carefully - it applies to the millions who have allowed themselves to be deceived by the false doctrines taught by the clergy of Christendom and the vast number of so-called 'Christian' sects and divisions that have no unity but division and are not doing the works that identify true Christians.
False teachers and those following apostates on social media will be rejected - Satan makes false doctrine very appealing through use of charismatic personalities with 'smooth' deceptive talk - social media does not represent God's truth - UA-cam is not being used for divine teaching - it is Satan's playground for deception - 1 John 5:19
      What makes UA-cam exempt from 2 Corinthians 4:4 ?
The bible nowhere says go looking for truth on UA-cam and choose what suits you.
The bible clearly states that 'few' will find the path to life - that path is narrow. Millions are on the broad and spacious road leading off into destruction and that includes the self-proclaimed churches of Christendom. - Matthew 7:13 & 14
Read also Revelation chapter 18 (note verse 4)

@@-RD It's funny how people like you make it so obvious that you never even read the bible. God's love is expressed towards those that are repentant and make changes in their lives to comply with righteous Christian standards of morality.
At judgement God's love is for justice to be made manifest on behalf of those that love God - God's love is removed from those that are disgusting in their filth, those that practise sin ie. thieves, liars, greedy people, homosexuals, murderers etc. - note what happened to the inhabitants of the cities of Sodom & Gomorrah - imagine their punishment - they didn't drown as did those during the flood; they experienced torrents of heated sulphur that can still be discovered at those sites. The land where those cities existed are covered with nuggets of very pure sulphur which are not found at any other location on earth, even where there have been volcanic eruptions. Archaeologists have been unable to explain it, however, bible students understand very well from the accounts given in Genesis 19:24
According to Matthew 25:32 people who are designated as sheep have a very different outcome compared to those who are judged as goats.
Be very clear that God's love is only shown towards one group, not both.

@@Chris_Sheridan I can see why someone might get the impression that God only loves the righteous. But Romans 5:8 is clearly and completely refutes the claim you just made. There's a distinction between God's Love towards all people (both groups) and his pleasure with the Righteous (the Sheep, that is the Church). To be clear, I don't believe in using the Grace of God as an excuse to remain in sin. And I believe that on judgement day the Sheep and the Goats will have vastly different outcomes. But that absolutely does not mean that God never loved the Goats. By denying this truth you're denying God's very nature. It's a topic I've grappled with too, so I understand where you're coming from. But it is an important distinction and a foundational truth about God's character that we should seek to grow in understanding.
And just FYI, I've read and meditated on the scriptures since I was 11. I read the Bible from cover to cover multiple times (not implying that's how you grow in the understanding of God).

Hi Ying, I hope I can call you Ying. Ying, I am Pastor Eric and your questions, confusion, and dilemma has been forwarded to me to respond to. First, let me say I am praying for you and will give you a best answer from God’s word and our faith in Jesus Christ I can in this forum and I pray it will give you some understanding and direction in this matter, and comfort you. I hear your distress and confusion, but you do not need to carry that confusion alone and forever if you take to heart and understanding what I tell you here. Ying, please know the depth of direction you need in this matter is way beyond what can be dealt with and covered in an email so I am very limited in my ability to assess and give the in-depth direction and support you need. Considering this I recommend you seek out your spiritual leader, Priest or Pastor that can do that for you. If you have access to Calvary Albuquerque locally you can make an appointment to see me. Second Ying, let me assure you that God loves you, He loves you with an everlasting love.
Listen Ying, let me help sort out some of the confusion you are facing. First you ask, ‘who am I,’ “…Who am I truly?” I want to get to that question here Ying and, I want to touch on your second question about, “... what my sexuality is…?” These are very important questions, and many are struggling with the same questions, you are not alone, but I think you know that and that adds to the struggle, you may know others, probably many who are under the same dilemma. But let’s try to understand some things, let’s call them the basics.
Try to understand first of all that your, or our “sex,” one’s sex is not determined by feelings, emotions, desires, or “preference,” but one’s sex is determined by their biological design and its purpose. It is a physiological fact. In line with this there are only male and female and in rare cases eunuchs (that is, one who is born without male or female genitalia or distinctive.
Now on the other hand “sexuality” i.e. “The quality of being sexual”, one’s preoccupation with the involvement in sex, choice in participation in sexual activity, concerning “sexuality” individuals construct their own dispositions, sometimes due to exposure, abuse, or some influence, exposure, or programming someone can develop a particular “sexuality.” In other words, someone, anyone can construct their own sexuality.
Ying, please know this truth as well, God loves you and He has a plan and a hope as well as a bright future for you (Jeremiah 29:11+). As we bring God into the subject matter this begins to change everything and That begins to reshape our understanding and practices even concerning sexual matters. When in Christ, when we choose to follow and believe in Him, live in the faith, love Him and desire to live for Him please and honor Him (John 14:15) and that requires of us to live in obedience to His commandments (Matthew 28:20).
As it is God who created man and woman and eunuch, we all are called to and must live according to His will and purpose. Understanding comes first in understanding who He is. We know Him as Lord, God, Savior, Father, and King. If this is who He is to us personally and wholeheartedly, then we live, or strive to live in obedience to Him, we live to please Him, who is our king, Lord, and Father.
There is so much that can be said about this and needs to be addressed, but Ying, this cannot be completely addressed and handled by email. I would strongly suggest that you make an appointment with and through the church, to meet with and talk to a pastor or church counselor to help and find resources to help and find more answers. In closing let me tell you, you cannot go wrong buy living according to God’s word. We are not to live according to the dictates of our own flesh, but rather by every word that proceeds from the mouth and heart of our God. In this there is peace, joy, hope and strength.
Ying, thank you for your question. Please know I will pray for you and am here for you to encourage your walk in Christ. Peace be with you I pray this has helped a little to bring some clarity.
      In His great love and service;
Eric Lamb | Pastor Calvary Church

@M H I'm so glad that someone else understands this! That's one reason I always read the KJV. The other translations that supposedly translate the Bible into "modern English" actually codify the exegesis of the translator. The traditional interpretation of that passage in Matthew is that the first two uses of "eunuch" are literal and the last one figurative, so many modern translations actually write it out that way, using "eunuch" for the first two examples and then, for the last example, saying something like "men who willingly forsake marriage for the sake of the kingdom". I, like you, think the first example is also figurative. No one reading a modern translation would likely see that. Also, most modern translations use the word "homosexual" when the original texts are clearly talking about anal intercourse. Those are not the same thing at all, but most pastors today conflate the two.

    • @jonathanpowers
      @jonathanpowers 2 роки тому

Ying-Yang, Pastor Eric is deluded. It appears that everything he's learned about homosexuality has come from the Left (i.e., Satan). You never mentioned being confused about your own sex, yet he dedicated a paragraph to explaining that there is only male and female, as if you didn't know that. The Left told him that the letters "LGBTQAI..." all belong together, and he fell for it. Anyway... the Bible condemns anal intercourse because it's unnatural, unhealthy, and dangerous (duh!), and many straight men think gay men have some predilection for that act, or that it's synonymous with homosexuality. It isn't, but you probably knew that already. I don't pretend to understand bisexuality and if you're truly bisexual, perhaps the easiest thing is to date women, save yourself for marriage, and then marry a woman. But if you're one of the many guys who says he's bisexual but is actually homosexual and has no sexual interest in women, then you aren't meant for marriage (Matthew 19:11-12). Take sex seriously (i.e., don't be promiscuous), but enjoy sexual relationships with guys; just don't "lie with mankind as [a man] lieth with a woman." Frankly, the most concerning thing you mentioned in your post is Catholicism. Get as far away from that cult as you can and find a Bible-reading and Bible-believing church!

God is Love, He Loves because it's in Him to Love. He knows us all and loves us. those who know Him and experience His Love only know Love because they first found it in Him. Its Because of His Love that those who sin realize their sinners and try to remove themselves from it and sin No more. those who know Him are sinners and in His Glory CHANGE, to be a NEW creature, one who understands their sin and works to remove it from their life. God Loves the sinner NOT the sin. the word "homosexual" is a word used to describe the sin. Like "bank Robber" or "thief" or "murderer".. yes He loves the person who sin's, but He DOES NOT Love the sins the person Does. so NO, God does not Love the Homosexual, He loves the child of God the person became after realizing they were a homosexual. once this realization hits, the homosexual turns in this word for a new one. Child of God, beloved. if your desire is for the opposite sex that is something the person must deal with. God can and will help to keep the desire at bay with the understanding on your part that its wrong. having sex with the opposite sex is a totally different thing. this is "Homesexualty" and this can and should be avoided all together. just like a man can daydream about robbing a bank and never see jail until he actually robs a bank. so too can someone feel a way about something and never act on it. you don't Have to have sex, God does not demand that all men Marry or ever find a sexual partner. strait men and women go without sex all the time. to lust after it is wrong but can be curved in Faith to God. so too can any mans thoughts. the acting out is the Giving into the sin and this is the abomination to God as is all sin. Adam and Eves sin was not the thinking about eating the fruit, it was the giving into someone other than Gods word and DOING it, thus Going against the Word of God. NO GOD DOES NOT LOVE THE "HOMO". He loves the man and woman who realize there a HOMO and become it NO MORE... sugar coat it all you want but at the end of the Day, Gods Word is the only one you should follow and the more you refute His words the more you need to realize you need them.

Jesus never said he wanted to spit the homosexuals, but He said he wanted to spit the Laodicea church. The church became so addicted to money. A pastor in Romania said that they were happy when the doors for the Gospel opened in his country, but he said that everything bad from the US got there faster and bigger and destroyed many good traditions. Where were the Christians? Probably having church parties.

HE WHO IS YET OF THE WORLD SO LOVES THE WORLD, AND SKIP HAS NOT YET HAD HIS ENCOUNTER WITH THE THIRD PERSON OF THE TRINITY OR HE WOULD NOT SAY THE WORDS HEREIN!!! But this is right, the blind leading the blind. To those of you truly seeking GOD, seek HIM in HIS WORD, not the word of the fallen creation>>>

The idea that Christian's hate the Homosexuals, the Lesbians and the
    Transexuals, that Christian's hate
all Sinners of every kind is literally
an outright LIE. True Chriatian's truly
LOVE (all) of our Brother's and Sister's around the world, period. This is true
regardless of the color of their flesh
or where they may have been born
as we (Are All) God's Children, as we
(Are All) then, (Members) of the (Same
Family). However, as God has told us
clearly, so long as we are still (Living
In The Flesh), we all (Fall Short) if the
Glory Of God. In other words, so long as we are still (Living In The Flesh),
we are all (Sinners), period. So it's obvious that True Christian's simply
can not hate (Sinners) as we ourselves, are (Sinners). However, as True Christian's , we can not (Condone) the sins of others any more than we can condone (our own sins)... Once again,
we do not hate Sinners as we are all Sinners. We do not favor one Race over
an other as we are (God's Children),
we are all (Members Of The Same Family) - PERIOD.

7:30 - I'm new to this preacher but was really looking forward to this. Unfortunately the main Scripture is one missing in the oldest texts, sooooo this is a disappointing beginning.
