- Be assured that I didn’t select the topics in this series because I am equating homosexuals with murderers; nor am I suggesting that addicts or homeless people are to be seen the same as terrorists. It’s simply that the church has historically been unkind to these groups, and we believe it is time to make the statement that Jesus loves all people. In today’s text, we see it clearly: everyone has some kind of past, and everyone can be freed from sin.
This teaching is from our series Jesus Loves People with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.
God delivered me from homosexuality, when I gave my life to Jesus Christ , God started to deal with me, long story short I surrendered and I started to have other desires , I can’t explain in text but God delivered me and I’m a new man ! :)

Such a good message we all come to Jesus thinking we're good but our goodness is filthy rags to God. We must drop the stones that we we're going to stone other's with. Cleanse us Lord that we may turn from our sins because we all sin.

I've been recently introduced by chance to the teachings of pastor Heitzig and I really love his teachings because he stays close to the Bible's teachings without deviating from it (much).
However, your logic pastor Heitzig in comparing Christians protesting homosexual marriage to adultery, extortion, etc, is flawed.
Christians can only protest laws that legalize sin. Christians cannot protest sin because no one can tell others what to in their private lives. Christians are not protesting sin: they are protesting the legalization of gay marriage. People have the right to sin because God gave us free will. Christians are protesting making sin legal, acceptable, celebrated, and pushed on our children.
Christians don't protest extortion because extortion is illegal! The teacher of the local school does not teach our children that extortion is a choice, a right, and an acceptable option!
In Ontario, Canada right now (where my wife and I live) the schools teach students as young as 7 years old that they don't have to be "boys" and "girls". Students younger than 10 years old are taught about homosexuality and anal sex!
Christians don't protest incest and polygamy because they are illegal! But one day (in our life time I believe) even those two grieving sins will be legalized and that's when Christians are called to speak out!
Who is pushing their agenda?! The followers of Jesus Christ or the followers of Satan? The doors of churches are open to all who are seeking salvation and freedom. But Satan is going to every household, every person, every mind and spirit, and poisoning them with his lies.
Satan is getting desperate. He is no longer using logic like he used "women rights" to murder babies through abortion. His logic now does not even make sense! The followers of Satan chose a man as the "woman of the year". Satan teaches that gays are "born that way", however, Satan is also teaching that gender is "fluid"--you are not born that way (as a boy or a girl)! Do you remember the days when Satan used to use "science" and "biology" to enforce his agenda? What happened to the X and Y chromosomes that determine the baby's gender as either a boy or a girl?! One day there are 7 genders, the next day there are 63 genders, the next day it's "I identify as half a human-half a dragon".
Satan is getting desperate because he knows his time is coming to an end, and he is throwing all the lies he can at people and those who are weak in their faith are falling to his lies.

@@MattFrame thank you! Churches regularly marry people who have been divorced for reasons other than adultry. According to the scriptures that many of them use to subconciously justify contempt and hatred, this is an act of adultry.
Okay first of all.. The ideology that God only cares about your sin if its illegal is absolutely hysterical and incredibly flawed. Teaching children about non-straight relationships will not "make" them gay.. Educating teenagers in school about safe sex will prevent them from early pregnancies, STD's and potentially being put into scenarios where they could be sexually abused. X and Y chromosomes determine a persons SEX, not Gender. Satan isn't even a concept in the early versions of the bible. Christians protest things that make them uncomfortable and go against their traditions. Your logic is flawed because it is clearly biased to fit traditional Christian values. Homosexuality is used by leftists that use this sin and the people living in the sin to attack and silence Christians. However, I know many gay people that live with depression and fear of judgement after death, but no one speaks to them about Jesus and the forgiveness of sins through His Gospel. I have told a couple of gay people about the Gospel, and I've told them that no one is beyond forgiveness. That the sin of homosexuality isnt worse than any other sin. Sin is sin, and there is not one good person on earth that merits forgiveness. Only Gods grace through The Blood of Jesus can make us righteous. They didnt accept Christ at that moment, but the seed was planted, and that's all I can do. The rest is the job of the Holy Spirit. As a Christian when people ask me about how I feel about homosexuality, I tell them that they must think it's very bad, because to me sin is sin, because that's what ther bible says.
Ive heard that its only a sin if they act on their desires, such as having sex with the same sex, just as the people were doing in sodom and Gamora. But im not sure if its a sin to simply have an attraction for the same sex, for as many other people have desires of their own.

Being gay is not a sin, to any enlightened and rational individual. And if depression is common among the LGBTQ population, it's caused by people like you. The attempt at "generosity" by the evangelical preachers (which isn't even attempted by many of their followers, as you see on this comment thread) is..."You can be gay and be saved...as long as you never have sex or even a non-sexual romantic relationship and you pray every day for God to cure you."
The same is true for unmarried straight people, what is your point?As a matter of fact it calls any Christian who can bear doing so to remain single. It's not as though sex and romance are vital to existence or even one of the most important aspects thereof.

What if someone came to the church and said hi I am Bob the bank robber. I was wondering if bank robbers are treated with open arms in this church? The last church I attended seem to be very anti bank-robber it really hurt my feelings. It turned me away from church.. the bank-robbing community I belong to all feel we were born this way. This was 8 years ago and look at the current situation now. Staggering, high record numbers of children ages 3-18 getting genital surgery, confusion of pronouns and school now teaching sexuality as never before. If you condone and love too much, a sinful behaviour grows from a mole into a mountain. This sin has become more, not, sin no more.
You obviously didn't watch the sermon. He was by no means condoning this sin but Instead explained how God can and will forgive them of this sin. He made it very clear throughout the video that those that commits such sins do not make it into heaven.

I appreciate your questions and I want to encourage you and exhort you to think soberly on this matter. You raise a good question and a common one in today’s culture. Let’s look at it biblically.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Billy Graham wrote this concerning homosexuality he writes;
Homosexuality is a sin, I think that the Bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin, but the Bible also teaches that pride is a sin, jealousy is a sin, and hate is a sin, evil thoughts are a sin. So I don't think that homosexuality should be chosen as the overwhelming sin that we are doing today.
Kaarii, understand that being gay is not a sin but listen the practice, the practicing of homosexuality is, we see homosexuality as sin, that is the first issue and facet of this struggle that needs to be understood and addressed. Some people reject the message of salvation because they are offended by the Bible's description of God's wrath. Even believers struggle to reconcile the Lord's love and justice. How can He at the same time be perfectly loving and perfectly just? In an attempt to come to terms with this dilemma, we often try to soften the message of judgment and instead emphasize the Father's loving qualities. But love and justice are not contradictory terms. In fact, you can't have one without the other.
God's love brings good into our lives. But if there is no justice, sin runs rampant and causes untold pain and suffering. No one thinks a judge is loving when he refuses to punish guilty criminals. To set them loose in society is not healthy for either the wrongdoer or the community. In the same way, our loving heavenly Father cannot allow sin to go unpunished.
But this presents an even bigger dilemma for mankind. We are all guilty before a holy God. That is why Christ came to earth. He bore divine wrath for all our sins so that the Father could be both just and forgiving. His justice was satisfied by the most loving act of all time-Christ's death on the cross. Now those who by faith accept Jesus' offer of salvation [repent of their sins]will never experience punishment for their [confessed]sins.
Although in heaven believers will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ, there will be no reason to fear. Our judgment has the purpose of determining rewards, not dishing out punishment. Out of gratitude, we should prepare now for that time by living for the Lord every day.

That I will live my life alone? In terms of romantic love... Not at all for God will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4) and they will be in line with His commandments and will. You, through His strength will nurture right desires in your relationships. I have a friend who was homosexual, he battled for years but found victory over his struggle [homosexuality] and became a leader of a ministry to homosexuals and has helped many overcome this sin. Now he has right desires aligned with Gods will [is heterosexual]and hopes to marry a woman one day.
What is the bottom line? It is this: God is no respecter of persons. He deals with the sin of all on exactly the same basis. He forgives and blesses those who obey and believe in Him. He is severe toward those who do not obey or believe. What is it that we must believe? Just what Paul has taught in the book of Romans. We must believe that we are a sinner, without any hope of God’s favor, deserving only of His eternal wrath. We must believe that God sent His Son to die in our place, to pay the penalty for our sins, and to provide us with His righteousness. We must believe that He has done all that is necessary for our eternal salvation. Have you believed in Him? When time ends and each man stands before God, there will be but one question: “Have you believed in My Son, or are you trusting in yourself, your own way?” May you believe faithfully and obediently in Him today my friend.

inK no, what he is saying is that many things are sin but you don't have to do them. He clearly said that people will still have those feelings but they don't have to act on them. maybe I'm drawing from the first of these two episodes so please check out the first one for a good foundation if you jumped into the second one. Always start with the first or go back to the first if you found yourself with the second one. When he talked about the woman caught in adultery he made a very good statement about how her sin was what was wrong, and she can now go and sin no more
Simply put: Jesus loves PEOPLE, but He hates sin because it's not His ideal design for people. Sin is not compatible with God, peace, love, freedom, eternal life, fellowship with God, because Jesus knows that sin's purpose is to destroy and enslave us.
If you truly want to understand what he is saying you need to understand who God is. His nature, and how he feels about sin. Read Romans 3 10-23, Psalm 14:13, Psalm 53: 1-3. What pastor skip is saying is that the church historically never reached out to share the Gospel and include them in the plan of salvation. What they did was pass judgment PERIOD! if you listened closely to the pastor he included many other sins that are not acceptable to God. John 3:16 - 17 says that Jesus died for the world's sins, and theres forgiveness for those who accept the fact that they were born sinners, and that they Repentof their sins. Repentance means to change our path, change our mind, do an about face, i.e. stop sinning!

IF there's no Repentance... there's NO Forgiveness.
Jesus loves sinners (including homosexuals) - and wants us all to TURN TO HIM in REPENTANCE, be FORGIVEN and be CHANGED into a new creation, in His Holy Image, with the Help of the Holy Spirit. IF we are willing.
That's the Reason Jesus came into the world according to The Father's Will.
So that The Father may be Glorified in the Son.
BUT IF we DON'T Repent and CONTINUE in our sinful ways, we will NOT enter the Kingdom of God.
We cannot have our cake and eat it too.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 , God=Lord Jesus Christ warns of those that keep doing immoral sodomite behavior and don't stop , won't enter His kingdom of Heaven later.
I wouldn't say being satisfied with your income means denying a pay raise; rather not caring if you get a raise or not. If they want to raise my pay, then I'm not going to turn that down especially with what can be done with it, like supporting the family or charity or other various good things.

Jesus said, sin no more. Yes, we all sin, but do we condone it or repent of it? What would Jesus say/have done had she continued or try to sexually influence the 12? I think continued sin destroyed a specific place(s), Sodom and Gomorrah. Just as, this continued sin has worsened over time, a small mole into a mountain, if you allow it to continue.

@@pastorbri I am not sure if GOD the creator of all people and things would have made a person GAY from birth if HE SO TOTALLY SAYS IT'S AN ABOMINATION OF PRACTICING THAT LIFESTYLE. So the only thing I can think of is that GOD made us all unique in a sense but we also have to keep in line with HIS LAWS that are stated in THE HOLY BIBLE which many of us don`t. Yet we can try and abide by the govt laws and rules; we are surrounded by all kinds of laws depending on where you live but we tend to make up our own rules and what suits us rather than listening to GOD whom we cannot see. I wish I knew THE BIBLE enough to have a more deeper conversation with you but sadly I don`t and am only reading it now for the first time ever which I am proud to say so and only wish that all of us would do the same thing in hopes we will grow and understand the reason WHY all the rules are in place for us to follow. THE BIBLE I believe is the only book we need to own and it states everything in there about how to live, what we are allowed to eat and NOT eat how to behave and treat others, and how to take care of our land for growth. At 16m 40s and onwards, I understood that you are preaching that homosexuality is a sin and it takes a conversion from that, well said. We all fall into sin, but there is a difference between falling into and living out sin as if it were not sin. Today in 2022, sin is celebrated with parades, holy month, and flags in the church, Christians and non-Christians ... no holiness there. The sin of Sodom is called lawlessness in Greek text translated from the Hebrew "avon". This Hebrew word means to deviate from what the Father has spoken. To us he has spoken through Christ, and these words and commandments we must obey. What defiles us comes from the heart and sexual immorality is one thing. Jesus' words about how the Father created us weigh heavily in what our sexuality should look like, man and woman becoming one flesh, it means united as one. God's word should go into those who choose to believe in the heart, but we should never judge non-believers from a biblical point of view.

hello, I am curious about how Pastor Skip sees the passage about the centurion ( Luke 7 and Matthew 8) asking Jesus for healing of his 'servant'. I was told that the word used was 'Boyfriend' as it was the culture for Greeks, and not servant. Since I have not done research on translations, and Pastor Skip is much more knowledgeable, I would like some guidance about those passages. thank you

When presenting the gospel and giving people an opportunity to pray with us to receive Jesus we ask folks to close their eyes and raise their hands for a few reasons. 1) It allows people to be free of judgement and a moment where they are free to make the decision out of their conviction. 2) Raising hands allows Pastor Skip to encourage a decision for Jesus and acknowledge those who want to take that first step of faith. I'm begging for counseling: My wife and I separated due to my sin if immorality and at that time very proud doing it. GODs grace still enlighten me and I asked Jesus to cleanse me and forgive me from all my sins. There was also a time I tried going back to my wife and begging her for us to start anew but she no longer wants it and even filed annulment and our marriage was dissolved.
