Exactly, like... we're not stupid. We know this movie was probably the weakest in the series, but it's silly to just point out every possible bad thing that could come to mind, when this is evidently one of the most amazing, fun and intense car chases ever filmed.

One thing that offends some people (tough $h!t) is that IMO there are hands down no chase scenes done in North America since The French Connection that come anywhere close to driving action filmed in the UK or Europe. Even the vehicles themselves seem to be less interesting. Certainly less nimble.
I agree, Bourne's car would have been a wreck long before it was in this. Plus, police in the USA carry shotguns in their patrol cars I believe? A madman on the loose in one of their own armoured cars? SWAT on the ground or not, you don't try to stop a vehicle like that with handguns.

Still, Bourne was in a fast car and the Asset was in an armoured SWAT truck, how did Bourne intend to stop him? Hope?

Unfortunately the Bourne films have fallen to the _bigger louder faster more expensive_ disease. It's just flashy and over the top that it feels like a *Fast and the Furious* chase. If they do another Bourne film it will just be formulaic, but this time they will use super cars or proper military vehicles, perhaps desert stunt buggies ? And they'll probably add CGI. The best Bourne chase IMHO was in Russia with the second film. They should have ended the franchise on the third as a self contained trilogy.

Actually if you ever played any open world game, like GTA or similar, heavy vehicles are great to escaping the police or anyone that is chasing you, because you can smash the traffic in front of you and no police car can stop you, also is a great way to create barriers to the police to dodge, because they would have hard time dodging the smashed cars in the way, that is the reason why he chose the SWAT vehicle, if he wasn't chased by Bourne, he could simply lost the police, go to an alley, change of vehicle and disappear into the night.

Fun Fact: The Las Vegas car chase sequence took five weeks to shoot and at the end, the sequence wrecked 170 cars. No CGI was added to the scene.

This was the lesser of the 4 movies story wise but had the best action of the franchise. Still a good movie 👌
