SG players, now it’s your turn! 25 years after it first appeared, the Gibson SG Supreme is back for 2024. With an AAA-grade figured maple top, Burstbucker Pro pickups, and a striking mother-of-pearl headstock inlay inspired by an original Gibson design from the Art Deco era, this isn’t just an electric guitar; it’s a statement and a contender for best electric guitar of 2024!
The new Gibson SG™ Supreme guitars feature a beautiful AAA-figured maple top (plain maple on the three-pickup exclusive model) on a mahogany body for a full, balanced tone that gives you that resonance and sustain you need when hitting the heavy notes and big lead lines. The mahogany neck has an ebony fretboard with a compound radius, 24 medium jumbo frets for absolute comfort when playing guitar, and Super Split Block mother-of-pearl inlays so you can see them underneath the house lights when you’re on stage! The headstock on the Gibson SG Supreme is adorned with a striking new mother-of-pearl “Chandelier Inlay” inspired by a design from the 1940s that was discovered in the Gibson archives. The Burstbucker™ Pro (neck, plus middle pickup on the three-pickup exclusive model) and Burstbucker Pro + (bridge) pickups are paired with push/pull volume controls for coil tapping and individual volume and tone controls (with three volume controls and master tone control on the three-pickup exclusive model) that are hand-wired to Orange Drop® capacitors. These appointments make the Supreme series SG guitars some of the best electric guitars for those who need multiple sounds at their disposal as you have absolute control over every aspect of your guitar’s sound, able to enjoy full-fat humbucker tone or single coil P-90 inspired tones too.
The three lush finishes, Fireburst, Wine Red, and Translucent Ebony Burst, are elegantly highlighted with gold hardware, making this not only a great-sounding and highly flexible instrument but also an exceptionally beautiful-looking modern rock machine.
But that’s not all! The EXCLUSIVE Ebony finish SG Supreme is loaded with three pickups, so you have even more tonal options! A hardshell case is also included with each Gibson SG Supreme, so your guitar is safe on the way to rehearsal and while you travel to your next gig.
Don’t settle. Play Supreme. Learn more HERE: bit.ly/3UxfVc6

at least ya all figured out where the jack is supposed to go, and love that there is no pick guard.. love the red one.
And strap button
holding my 335 on my lap, watching this and thinking to myself "Gibson is luxury".
I feel luxuried at the moment. And it feels good to be luxured :D . It feels good to own a Gibson!
Strap lock on the figgin' horn!!!!! I have been moving my SG style guitars to the horn because of Iommi. Nice to see it a norm now. Ebony burst is great. I have a similar Epiphone SG (maybe a bit darker). Beauties.
I've got one of the 2016 ones that is a Diablo cut in trans red with chrome hardware. These are very nice as well!
Pretty and love the 24 freets but 99% agree the 57 classic is a perfect match for the sg, mid 7 k neck and high 7k bridge with full charged alnico 2 magnets. When the Supreme first came out you couldn't beat them .57 classics ( new then / older ones sounds even better than today) and great build quality. Bought 2013 sg standard, 2014:lp traditional, 2015 lp standard, 2018 sg 61.then I stopped , everyone the action is so high ..if your bring it down to where its half way playable, fret buzz and dead spots everywhere! Sold them all! Now only buy and own from 1990 to early 2000's .for the $$ , custom shop quality should be the high end USA models, and custom shop should be out of this world !Plus there high end pickups , custom buckers the screw coils are wound hotter! I've been in a few real paf and each one had the slug coil wound hotter .plus there was a bigger coil wind offset , example slug coil 3.80, screw coil 3.35..The burstbuckers if they had more offset and used the right alloys would have Ben closer to a real paf! Plus the use of poly wire ! Does fender do that ?? No! Well on Mexico made pickups they do.but for years they use PE or HV on all USA made pickups !.the alloy / steel parts of the bridge and tail Pease is wrong ! Make them sound brittle and bright in a bad way ! Even low end Gibson's should be great guitars for the $ and top offers from USA shop should be as close to the 50&60's as possible! Lot of $$ for those .mass produced parts and corporate greed , hiring folks that have no clue what tone or playability is has ruined Gibson last 20 years ..I lost count after couple thousand few years back of folks wanting a re issue of the late 60/early 70's sg with the smaller rounder neck with the 1&9/16 / 15/8 nut width necks ..nope ! The l6s has those smaller nut necks but did the reissue have that ?? No! Did they have anything close to the original bill Lawrence Super humbuckers?? Nope ! The same Circuit for the original 6 way switch and bass and mid roll off / pots ? Nope !! But it was a reissue?? Lol not even close .cost to much ! Instead of making a a million , they would have only made few hundred thousand if it where built to original specs .bottle line I don't like fender , just the amps , don't like single coils , but would choose a Tele or start if buying new , there stuff is real close to the old days , original ones , there custom shops are the same but better then original! Sad the love of $$ has turned Gibson into a corporation, a way to make big $$ not quality instruments
Good playing
Ohhh my good dear God!!! I want all four!!!!
Me too! Love that 3 pickup ebony!
That red wine for me, please. 🤘🤘🤘
really nice sg i want one
How is the triple pick up one wired?
What pickups are on in the middle position?
Middle and bridge I believe.
All modern series based guitars should have fully sculpted heel joints where the neck and body almost look like one piece of wood, being able to do that is the advantage of set neck guitars. Also, supremes shouldn’t have back control plates or pick guards, they should be internally wired/routes at minimum if they’re no longer going to have rear maple caps.
I was going to order a Modern but when I saw these, I ordered the 3-pickup ebony Supreme from Gibson. It should be here in a few days.
How is it?
Love it!
Nothing beats the mahogany maple combo for electric guitars.
I had one of these in P-90 many years ago...one of the few guitars I regret selling.
Arriving Tuesday!
YES!
@gibson I'm ready for the black one, love 3 pick ups. How do I order?
Hi! here you go! www.gibson.com/en-US/Electric-Guitar/SG-Supreme,-Exclusive/Ebony-3-Pickup
Hi! I'm Paolo from Italy. I think the sg supreme is great because the maple top adds sustain because adds cm to the body... 24 frets increase the playability... and the geometric fourty inspired decorations are beautiful... but It sounds more like a les paul than an sg... and it's over priced: it costs about 1500 € more than the modern... but it'is olnly a modern with some golden decorations and some mother pearl inlays! (forgive my english: io parlo italiano/je parle francais). Saluti a tutti dall'Italia
Will Epiphone follow up?
These are stunners.
New gorgeous looks with modern features as well as keeping the tradition going.
Well done Gibson. It had been a while since you had not coming up with something exciting AND relevant.
Don't know about the price on those babes though. That might be the bummer. As you(fender is in the you) guys are just taking the p... On prices lately.😢
Please reissues the holy line back all three of them!
I don't think Les would have charged us that much
$1000 premium for essentially a SG modern with gold hardware, fancier inlays and locking tuners? Other than that they are almost identical. I love you Gibson, but a rare miss for you all.
Ebony fretboard, compound radius, AAA maple top. Guess you missed all of that
@@jcwoodstl The modern has an ebony fretboard, compound radius, and AA maple top. You're right, my bad. 😉
I read your comment as standard not modern, I stand corrected
yeah.
Yeah. I’d much rather have the SG Modern, especially a demo one or used as they go for around standard prices.
These Supremes ain’t really all that supreme as they was back in the day too.
You could make a fireburst LP you know... Saw this on a studio ?
they did.....
He said the body is a little thinner?
I thought these were thicker, and heavier.
Hey that looks a lot like my epiphone
The quilted looking top on the wine red one does not look "right". Was expecting better finishes this go around with the Supreme label. The dark orange Supreme here just does not look right without a pick guard. The trans ebony of the three looks fantastic tip to tail. Must be a BLAST to be able to really turn it up loud and have new tonal facets appear. The 3 pick up black and gold SG is hot sex tubes. I need it NOW.
I’ll take a left handed one please, oh ya, they don’t make em
Well, Gibson is ICONIC classic and modern guitar, i Gust it's a million dollar from Gibson and epiphone inspired by gibson, is coolers
Don’t like the strap button in the top horn!!
Hello Gibson, so expensive man. It's even 3800 Euro in Europe, it's a very steep price tag.
Update to my previous comment. Yep. Nice but come with a more than doubling of the price. Are you designers doubling their salaries for coming up with such basic ideas? Which, users had thought of, and asked for decades ago. GIVE US A BREAK
Simple comment here, and I believe it is best for simplistic understanding of my criticism.
Put this so-called upgrade design on a Fender Stratocaster, and you will see why it does not work. Personally the flamed top on this SG design here is actually uninspiring to look at, and actually takes away from making me want to purchase it. It all takes away from the essential look of the guitar. Being, the contours, and the look of the horns design of the SG. Which, is what is truly meant to be pronounced in it's original design. Now, take these thoughts and comments of artistic criticism and apply them to the doing this same so-called design upgrade change on a Fender Startocaster...No Thanks. Look at the reissue SG61 Standard and with particular attention to the shape, deep dark cherry hue, and finish. What you see is simply spectacular. It does not want to look like something of a guitar that it is not.
the action is not good and the pups are not so powerful vs 498T
So of the best tones from rock even some metal was low output humbuckers ! 7 to 7.8 k.and alnico 2 or weakened a5 magnets .
How about an affordable Gibson?
They have that. It's called Epiphone. 😉
How about an affordable Ferrari?
@@BXGuitars lol, no.
Les Paul Tributes and Studios are quite affordable for a Gibson. (The Tribute was quite a surprise for me)
I understand about variety and different offerings but i feel like everything gibson is out lately is just a money grab. The signature slash stuff was cool as he is truly an ambassador to the brand but all the other signature models and these corny lines of supreme lps and sgs and they still haven't learned their lesson about the puss pull pots and crap sounding pickups that go along with them. The best solid body offerings gibson usa is offering are the 50s and 60s lps and the 61 sg. Everything else suffers in the electronic department.
COIL TAP. Drives me crazy when people say coil-tap, when it's coil-split, or coil-split when it's really coil-tap. They are not the same! How does the "official Gibson Demo guy" on an official Gibson/HQ promo video get the tech specs wrong? Do they not have any marketing people proofing what he is going to say before, during or after? Maybe a teleprompter with an official Word for Word script of what this person should say needs to be added to these videos. It's already bad enough when they have poor QC issues on the guitars, to have poor QC issues on the promo videos too? Come on Gibson/JC, you can do better than this.
Skinny neck, strap button on the tip of the horn. I’ll pass
