    would a thermal pad be a substitute for thermal putty used in the vrms around the chips?

    • @LaptopDisassembly

      First thing is to open it, clean and put some oil on the fan. If that doesn't help, than you have to replace it. In any case you have to lift the cooler. No easy way.

    is there any diff between thermal paste and thermal putty?

    • @LaptopDisassembly
      @LaptopDisassembly  15 днів тому

      Yes, thermal putty is more dense. Something in between thermal paste and thermal pads. If you replace it, it has to be a putty again. Don't put paste instead.

    Hi, The color Pink stuff is the Themal Putty? I used this laptop like for 3 years and my GPU gets hot and also cpu, but gpu up to like 86 and if i do simple task's it yeha gets hot easily, so should i only change the GPU and CPU thermal paste whit some grizzly one and also that VRAM Paste or should i leave it still for a very long time that Pink paste?

      I usually replace only the paste on the GPU and CPU. I don't replace the thermal putty. Just clean the dust and replace the paste. It will be enough.

After that select change advanced settings. Find CPU maximum power settings. And change " on adapter" from 100% to 99%. Just lower it with 1% and test how it will be.
