Men and women* , not "women and men".
Women should stop being victims.
If a man criticises them, they think it's because of their gender.
Women are not special, I hope you know that.
22:33 "a woman in a man's world." Isn't that because it's most men who did and continue doing all the work to how our world is?
If you women want to take over, then, do the difficult jobs that keep the world running.
"The Barbie movie gives your gfs bad ideas".
Bro, if your relationship was healthy, you wouldn't have to worry about a movie initiating its end.
Spot on
I wonder how we got to this point
Yepppp
*That's just wrong. What you consume, who you spend time with ... these things matter.* Consuming a TOXIC film, can have a negative effect on you and the people around you, especially women who are easily susceptible to being emotionally influenced. There are reasons why computer companies are being sued for their algorithms that push people down rabbit holes of depression and despair. This is a measured phenomenon. It's real and it's dangerous. YOU ignoring reality IS going to backfire.
Regradless of your relationship status, a movie can influence naive people to change/alter their opinions and ideas, most people are *naive*, you leave a child glued to a TV, without supervision, and he will form his opinions based on what he sees, hence why its called "TV Program", "Programming", it literally in its name!
If you think a movie is gonna end your relationship, then maybe you shouldn’t even be in a relationship at ALL.
EXACTLY 🤧🤧🤧
That’s a ridiculous stance
It’s not the movie itself, it’s the message. If men are mad about the dehumanization of women being addressed, then THEY shouldn’t be in relationships with women
@@AngelaEAwesomealso the stance itself is not ridiculous at all. If a movie can come between you and someone who you supposedly love, then your relationship already had a weak foundation. That seed of doubt was already in the ground. The rain just made it grow.
exactly
If you think you should use a Barbie movie as to whether to stay or break off a relationship, then maybe you shouldn't be in a relationship at all.
The movie literally ended with Barbie encouraging Ken to love himself instead seeing himself as an attachment and only worth her gaze. If everyone could love themselves, we’d be in a much better place
And show that when women take power back are 100 times worse than the men ruling. Somehow I think that screen writers clapped themselves on the back "yey woman power" and didn't think it through.
@@elenabob4953 blah blah blah, just say you want male validation and move on
The Barbie movie is essentially about finding inner worth, self love, and breaking away from codependency and toxic superiority. With that in mind, if you fear your significant other will be changed after this movie, that says a lot about you.
🎯
Or about the partner. Either way, they're both better off.
A movie shouldn't be used as a test of anything. It's a movie.
It was a man bashing movie.
Wasn't it about the man breaking away from toxic codependency and ultimately not doing that? Lol
"The Barbie movie gives your gfs bad ideas".
if a guy thinks a movie is was what ended his relationship, he's the problem. breakups in ltr don't come from nowhere. and the fact that men still shift blame on a movie of all things instead of looking back and inspecting what went wrong is a telltale sign they refuse to grow.
Love the description of "if the man understands even half of of what the movie is trying to say then he's more likely to be a normal with normal values and stable emotions".
That's just so freaking funny to me
Tbh I think it's a good thing. Those people aren't breaking up just of because of the movie.
They're breaking up because it made them aware of underlying issues they might have, like codependency, mistreatment, disrespect...
If they needed a movie to realize that than we have bigger problems. Also girls bragging that they have done that they mostly said they done it because they didn't want to go seethe movies.
Uh. If you break up with your man of 2 years just because he didn't like it.. you have problems and it's not your man.
@@brielwoods1197 Exactly. It's like they are using any sort of excuse because I bet they didn't even like their partner to begin with.
@@brielwoods1197Even if its their fault, its good that something triggered the couple to finally break up
You did such a great job describing this whole ‘Barbie movement’ and I feel like the whole point of the movie is that it should start serious conversations. What you do with that conversation is up to you
I had to explain to my boyfriend how the movie wasn’t just about men being problematic but you see Barbie being just as problematic. It poked fun at both genders. It was a masterpiece. It was how a movie should look at both genders.
@@SSJacksWolfwouldn't it technically completely rid the movie of sexism if both sexes are being equally dunked on? 💀
@@SSJacksWolf fair enough
@@SSJacksWolfyou said sexism is looking down at men and women due to their "gendered traits" that they can't change. Which unchangeable "gendered traits" are you talking about? (genuine question)

my boyfriend and i watched this movie and absolutely loved it !!! after watching the movie, he didn’t quite understand why some men are offended by it when it was never pointing men as “the problem”. what him and i got from the movie was how the patriarchy affects both men and women.

@@kaoryakasaka6835 exactly especially if it speaks out against the dehumanization of woman. Only bad & toxic males get offended by woman being free or freeing themselves from their shackles.
Why? There's nothing noble about remaining in a relationship where you aren't compatible with your partner. @@Attmay
I think people are looking at it all wrong. Girls aren’t breaking up with their boyfriends BECAUSE of the barbie movie. They’re doing it because they’ve been treated badly for so long and the barbie movie was a wake up call that they deserve better. These guys saying the barbie movie ruined their relationship are avoiding any form of responsibility.
What is it then, could it be weak girls that used this flimsy excuse to get ridd if the relationship? I say girls and not women because a woman would cutt things fast and they wouldn't need a movie as an excuse or delate relationships for a nothingburger.
Do you have the statistics on tis?
I didn't like a lot of action hero films... imagine if men broke up with women over that
It’s interesting how these critics never see movies as divisive or anti-diversity when women are oppressed. Or when women are only portrayed as an accessory (without even having their own side story).
“iT’s JuSt FaNtAsY/ nOt EvErYtHiNg Is PoLiTiCs/ hIsToRiCaLlY aCcUrAtE” and some of their favorite excuses to never find a problem with the opposite.
Sure because as a woman I really "enjoyed" the part where Barbies take power back ( yey woman power) just to behave 100 timewirse than the men did because that is just and right.
exactly, it's only a problem for them when one movie makes jabs at men, but they have no issue with literally every other movie in existence that portrays women poorly
Fr! the only thing i really remember from Oppenheimer was the girls unnecessary nudity😂

I haven't watched the movie but based from the vid, it empowers both sides.. Women should stand up and get out of toxic relationship and men should not just be a simp or a yes man and have their own identity.. It could also be the other way around.. I'm a man and I think the movie have a great message to everyone
It doesn't tho.
Btw if your relationship ends because y’all couldn’t comprehend the true concept of the same movie. I don’t think the foundation of said “relationship” was ever strong enough to begin with.
I think that's the point. It starts a conversation that points out the flaws already present I the relationship.
At this point I believe this generation creates dramas from literally everything.
I'm already bawling from all the positive reviews she presented but Spill's "WAAH WAAH" made me choke on my snot. What the heck
😂😂😂🤣🤣
💀
I don't understand people living their lives, based on a movie. How they let it affect them so deeply is beyond me.
Quite easily. If you see yourself on the screen it's hard to not feel so affected by it.
There are many reasons as to why there's a lot of people that feel deeply about it.
Tell that to the people who think a movie about self love is somehow brainwashing an entire half of the population.
In my opinion, I’m happy the movie is starting conversation. Especially pointing out of toxic masculinity is actively harming both men and women to never be satisfied with themselves.
I feel like there’s men out there who did recognize how Ken directly shows how easily it can be to fall into that rabbit hole and be affected in your relationships and personal identity. But because Barbie is a “woke” movie, they brush it off.
You forgot the toxic femininity too
Not just masculinity but Feminity as well. Both toxics are very prominent in this movie.
When you were talking about breakups, I kept thinking about the guy who broke up with his girlfriend. I'm happy for him and anyone who put themselves first thanks to this movie.
I'm proud of the Ken who went to the Barbie Movie and realized he needed to find himself without Barbie and decided to fly solo to find himself.
I’m a woman and thought this movie was a mess for many many parts. Dump me now.
how is Barbie an anti-men movie when both barbie and ken r flawed characters? it's a movie abt humanity, reality, abt appreciating yourself, not tkg others for granted, it's not anti-motherhood either, it's a mix and also phases of life, motherhood, teenagerhood, elderhood, etc.
ppl feeling offended abt this movie need to mk a reflection of their own selves. it empowers all genders. it's abt humanity and its flaws.
I have only watched the first 50 minutes and every time a man is on screen he's depicted as a misogynist.
It’s all propaganda to make the man in the West a weak cuck subservient to women but more importantly to the elites who run the system
Because Ken actually takes accountability while Barbie doesn't.
I can’t believe a movie is enough to breakup with someone like wtf
That's tik tok for you.
Is like the Reddit post said; is was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
It reveals something about a person.
Post capatalist feminist woke world
I completely understand why this movie would end relationships or prevent a person from getting into one based on how a guy reacts to this movie.
I couldn't be with a guy who bashed this movie. We wouldn't work out in the long run because we have veey different opinions on very basic issues.
I think it's a little odd that it would take a movie for someone to see who their partner really is, but at least once they know they bounce.
Good. Those men will be better off without those women.
it’s a freaking movie.
@@milicadjordjevic4498 they’ll be better off without each other.
@anastasianoelle1720 sometimes a freaking movie is needed to reflect back to people what they can't see for themselves.
@@truecrimenwine489 If you truly mean that then go watch Sound of Freedom. Then you can come back and tell us your thoughts.
It’s just laughable how their “manhood” is all about “toughness” and it is completely shattered by just one movie. These are boys who don’t know how to be a man
You’re not a man so don’t judge.
@@PrincessPinkHeart2702 well I thought you are pro having “different opinions” but here you are trying to invalidate me for making an observation and stating a fact. If “judging” is what you have a problem with, then you have a much bigger problem with the men who judged this movie
What exactly has the movie shattered?
My mister and I enjoyed the movie.
My biggest issue with it was that all the online jibberjabber had me sitting there trying to find the controversial parts instead of just enjoying it.
Thanks for reminding me why I'm not on TikTok
"to me the movie says that girls should only aim for careers/ being independent and traditional values like [...] starting a family are not something you should seek for"
the entire subplot of the mother and the daughter :😐
when i watched it, i realized people fighting about it are exagerating sorry. it was super mild and funny. it also made Ken relatable and funny. i don't get the hate at all after watching it.
So you did not get it.
i cant with people saying the movie was anti-men 😭 like the ending literally had the characters acknowledging that it wasn't right for all the barbies to rule over the kens (and vice versa) and trying to work towards equality for *both* barbies and kens in barbieland
The first 50 minute I watched was all about men being as misogynistic as possible, why was that their main focus?
Literally, I don't get it, it's either they're just talking without even watching the movie or they missed the point
@@maatonne idk what movie you watched bro 😭
@@heyimgalaxy I guess someone wasn't paying attention.
The difference Ken took accountability while Barbie didn't. It's inherently bias.
It’s funny how some men are salty about the movie because it ended their relationship. Guess what guy, Even without the movie, it’s bound to happen if you don’t treat your women right.
Society has really gone down the toilet to literally demote a movie to a relationship test.
If you think about it. It's more an ideology test.
We appreciate your insights. Keep working hard.
They will break up with the boyfriend to go and look for a new one in a month or 2 because now they are getting lonely...
If you get broken up with because of a Barbie movie, then you doged a bullet, and they didn't really love and was trying to find a way out..
These movies they are releasing is really exposing who mentally unstable they are latley. Worst the charaters are not even real😅
As much as i did not like the Patriarchy arc, seeing the kens ignored and all them just being kens (metaphora to 50ies houswives i think?) was painful. i understand the metaphor though
The one guy saying not to go to the movies w their girlfriends is so sadly pathetic, it’s almost hilarious- he probably also follows Tate or Musk too 😆
🎯😂
My girlfriend knows better than to ask me to go watch this with her.
14:24 is probably one of the best tweets that explains the movie as a whole in literally only 2 sentences.
I didn’t want to see the movie because I kept hearing it was super feminist and man hating. But the guy I’ve been seeing asked if I’d like to go see it with him and I agreed, we laughed genuinely the whole time and I even teared up at the emotional parts. I genuinely enjoyed the movie and was so glad I sent to see it, it was fun and funny and just a really good time. It was definitely a bit tongue and cheek humor with the brainwashing but it was like watching a meme movie in a way but a lot more. It was just fun and I don’t see why is such a divider.
That's awesome. I thought the same thing
How could something be both “super feminist” AND “man hating” at the same time?
People get ultra defensive when their insecurities are poked, imo that’s why we see such overreactions online… like burning a doll for a movie review? Clearly some folks aren’t in the right mind to begin with.
@@emmanarotzky6565 Because feminism is inherently anti-men, just go to any feminist space and see for yourself. No one falls for the equality bs anymore.
I haven't seen the barbie movie yet, but I don't think it's meant to brainwash women into hating men at all. I think it's to combat toxic masculinity
It is really a movie against patriarchy and matriarchy, and about love and friendship.
You can't get brainwashed if you're already brainwashed.
I thought people saying that they would dump their boyfriends for not watching the Barbie movie was a joke. I haven't watched the movie so maybe I'm not understanding but it came to a point of actual break ups because of it?
I don’t get breaking up just over ‘hey you didn’t like this movie’ but I can see the scenario where this movie sparks a conversation about feminism and that can lead to a breakup
I am scratching my head over this one as well. A break up over a movie? Seriously? Maybe I could watch it so see what the fuss is all about because I’m sure not getting it.
@@cewe2003The breakup isn't about the movie itself, it's about the way they respond to the themes presented in it. I felt like that about them breaking up over it too, but the more I think about it, if somebody is angry, storming out, ect over a movie about a *toy* talking about the way women get treated, it makes sense why some women won't wanna stick around.
Watch Mario instead.
@@cewe2003 essentially reflects morals and values that don't align. Watching something portrayed in an exadurated way in a movie makes you realize how you have seen these things in your own life eg isolation, depersonalsation, gaslighting, loosing yourself in a relationship, the world's treatment of women etc.
If people are truly breaking up the healthiest, best ever like you won the jackpot partner over a movie then they're insane and the relationship wasn't going to last anyways, but seeing how both men and women are treating each other, I'm going on a limb that majority of these relationships are mediocre at best and any little sign was going to tell them to leave
Both me and my bf enjoyed the movie when we went. Our guy friend went to go see it first and highly recommended it and said it was better than Oppenheimer in his opinion.
If a woman is breaking up with their Boyfriend based on how they liked this movie, then I say the BF just dodged a bullet.
8:05 Basically, the movie still teaches stuff that's unhelpful and probably a bag example to try to follow? Soooo surprising 😑
>oppressed class overthrows their oppressors
> oppressors vote to go back to the way things were
>oppressed say okay
> this is somehow a happy ending
As a female I was rooting for Ken. I thought it was funny. Also, couples should appreciate each other. It gave a message.
I went to see the movie with my boyfriend and his favorite part was when the patriarchy took over… I got chills so many times watching this video as it revalidated my own thoughts about how big of a red flag hating the Barbie movie is coming from a man…
Hopefully that's ex-boyfriend...
And what was your favorite part?
So at 14:13 the “comedian “ all but said those guys were being girls by telling them to look in their pants. Kind of a back handed defense of women right?? Why is “acting like a girl” almost always the criticism??
You are making this I hope you have had a good day:)
I personally not a fan of the movie because as a child I enjoyed barbie movies, and I didn't like the idea of it turns to something adult if I may. The concept of barbie as a child is not about hating men or about patriarchy.
It wasn’t about either the patriarchy or matriarchy being better than the other, to me it was about both being toxic, and a more balanced world being what we should aim for.
Those who broke up from toxic relationships after seeing the movie, then clearly the relationship wasn’t meant to be and was never going to last in the first place.
But to use it as a litmus test as to whether a man is dating material or not is just silly. If you need a movie to work out whether you should date someone or not, you’re not ready for a relationship.
My boyfriend watched it after judging it initially and his reaction gave me hope for the world, he understood 😢
The boyfriend said, "Don't let your girlfriend go see the Barbie movie." Sir.... The fact that you think that you have the right to prohibit your girlfriend from seeing a movie... That's why she left you XD
I can’t help but think the people who say the movie was made to make women hate men or anything along those lines are genuinely just deeply delusional and out of touch 😂
I only watched the first 50 minutes and every time a man is on screen its like "How misogynistic do you want the men to be?" "Yes"

Ironically I dumped a previous boyfriend over Wonder Woman, ( which Greta Gerwig credited as being the catalyst for a Barbie movie) I forget exactly what he said… but I had mentioned wanting to go see it, and he said something like, “ughhh I’m tired of seeing girl boss movies” and this was like right at the start of this strong female lead storylines phase of hollywood… I dumped him and went to see the movie with my Dad 😊💖
I love all the pink edits in this video. Matches with the theme lol
Man this movie was NEAT! Don't know why people broke up over a damn movie!!
Did you watch the video explaining why? and it' not just about being "broke up"?
I brought my 12 and 15 year old son, my 30 year old daughter and her boyfriend to the movie. Not one of them were upset and understood almost everything the movie was trying to say. It's weird what people will say for views or if they weren't mature enough to actually understand all the messages the movie was saying. I think they should re-watch the movie with people that do understand it so they can point everything out for them. There are so many good messages in this movie for both male and female that I had to watch it twice. I really understood and loved it plus it was nostalgia for me. I started playing with barbies in the high 1960s and it did indeed feel like i was playing with friends. They kept me occupied for hours.
you know I went to the barbie movie with my mom.. and trust me her behavior hasn't changed ever since we saw it... and it hasn't affected my father in any way shape or form, wanna know why? cause they have a stable healthy relationship.... if you have that a movie shouldn't change someone's thought process and behavior...
It's amazing how many people misunderstood this movie.

I still cant believe people still dont know what personal space is! If we made them go back to kidnergarten to learn what "bubbles" are, they still wouldnt understand! Sigh... im losing faith in humanity and it's not just personal space....
That fact that people will end relationships over MOVIES, is crazy. Sure it might be able to open some peoples eyes, but to use it as a guaranteed test? That’s just insane.
Is it, though? Have you watched the movie?
I completely understand why a woman wouldn't want to continue dating a guy who had a bad reaction to the movie.
The kind of guy that would bash this movie is a guy I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with. We would never work in the long run because we have very different opinions on basic issues. The only thing I find a little weird is that it took a movie for the person to realize who their partner is as a person.

This movie represented both insecurity and ignorance. Ken didn't have any self value so he put all of his worth in Barbie. Barbie was ignorant of his suffering. And from this a lot of problems came abt. We need to communicate and empathise with people to solve our issues. This is a main theme of the movie.
I still think the movie was boring, but it is interesting to see how it's being used for relationships.
