That roller dome commercial reminds me of how many parties and school events I went to at the local roller rink growing up. I was never great at skating, so I think I spent a good amount of time in the arcade, except to talk to other kids, and occasionally try my luck on the floor.
I'm enjoying these Christmas commercials so far! The annual 25 day Christmas marathon is one of the reasons why I love this channel! Thanks for making my days brighter! ^_^
While I love the song, “Somewhere out There,” and this version is very pretty and I love it, it sounds a bit too sad to be playing in such a happy, festive commercial. Maybe it’s just me.
Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town Bumpers- Interesting Choice Of Scene From The Special To Use For Those. Santa's Playland- That Blond Haired Nutcracker Standing Next To Santa Looks WAY Too Interested In Staring At Santa. Oatmeal Swirlers- Way To Take A Food As Healthy As Oatmeal And Make It Into Junk Food.
Ah, the Reginald Owen Christmas Carol. That version is the only one we ever watched in my family. It’s my favorite more for that reason but it really isn’t bad!
I remember being super excited to try Oatmeal Swirlers after seeing the commercial for them. They weren’t terrible but I was very unimpressed and disappointed. I guess I set my expectations too high. lol
I remember one Christmas, maybe this one because of the McDonald's commercial, when Pictionary was all the rage. It was a fun game. I think Koosh balls were hot that year too.
Santa's Playground-going by that music, that must be a less-than-joyful place to visit Fashion Star Files-those two girls were later hired as concept artists for a failed re-imagining of My Little Pony Barbie Ferrari-was actually on loan from Thomas Magnum Superior Traning Services-liked that music video-type credit at the beginning..for a second i had thought Matuszak was going to stat rapping or something Country USA-Faron Young's"Hello Walls"..mustve been inspired by him painting his house(?) Le Tigre-guess George Thorogood didnt show,so they just performed without him
OMG we have this broadcast. But from another state, so some of the commercials are slightly different. Ours has Flixiblox and the extended Encyclopedia Britannica commercial.
This aired in syndication, and was probably broadcast at a different date/time than your recording...but most likely the syndication package for this special included the same ads.
@@80sCommercialVault Yeah our copy has a lot of ads for shows that were running in syndication at the time (including older stuff like The Doris Day Show). It's from Roanoke VA, so there's some stuff from there as well. I'd have to look up the exact channel number, but Santa Claus starts with a "Special Delivery" intro which I'm assuming this was a part of in all syndicated broadcasts.

I'm 48 , thank God we're all here to reminisce, I love it ...

OMG, Wishworld Kids! I had Rachel’s play set, and I still have the doll.
Those Oatmeal Swirlers were the bomb! Wish they still made them! Oh the memories of eating a bowl before heading off to school.
I remember Oatmeal Swirlers
. lol

I remember receiving my cousin's old My Little Pony toys [lots of it] from the U.S. It only gathered dust on top of our shelves.

I'm liking that John Matuszak ad but you better not get him upset or he'll wreck your heavy equipment!
Perfume Pretty Barbie aka Big 80s Hair Barbie.
I forgot at one point there was osh gosh bgosh adult clothes.

Do any stations show these old movies like Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town anymore?
Yes, they still air them. I've seen them on while flipping channels the past couple nights.
AMC has had most of the Rankin/Bass specials on this past week. I'm hoping they will again.
Freeform (used to be ABC/Fox/Family Channel) used to air these too. We had all of them on DVD when I was in school.
Thanks for all the comments. I cut the cable TV cord a few years ago so wasn’t sure. I’ll check around in some streaming services. 👍
Gee whiz I can't wait to visit Santa and get separated from my family and sold to a sweatshop
with "somewhere out there" playing in the background. creepy!

That Oatmeal Swirlers was awful!
