Until I saw your video, I was not aware of this product whatsoever. Without a doubt, this will be a useful tool for 4066R. Being a dairy farm, we put the livestock schedules (i.e., milking, feeding, mucking, etc.) ahead of our land maintenance. Thus, we are unable to finish fertilizing even one of our pastures without getting pulled away to tend our livestock. The tracking map will be a great way of picking up where we left off. Also, the trouble code details will be very helpful for resolving problems ourselves where possible. Thank you for this awesome video!
I really like this tool. I like the fact I can scan my own system without having to take it to the dealership. And it's got a lot of information. Thanks for sharing Tim
Thank you for featuring this. I wanted to let you know the app description on iPhone says it fits “select 1,2,3 and 4 series” plus a bunch of others. So I’m not sure if it can communicate with my 1025r but I’m certainly going to look into it more. Thank you!
The price of the Bluetooth JD scanner is right in line with other devices like the OBD-II scanners for your car/truck. And the information gleaned is similar. The error codes are invaluable like you mentioned to help avoid a dealer visit. Too bad you couldn’t clear the error codes. Access to part diagrams is very helpful too. Great video as I didn’t know this existed. Thx.
Ordered mine today. Didn’t know this existed until a watched your video. I like the maintenance options it has as I usually forget when it’s time. I just rolled over the 400 hour mark and it’s time for more maintenance. Thanks for your videos Tim, you too Kristy!
Modern tractors need modern electronics to keep running properly. I like it . You make some awesome videos on these tractors . Good job and thank you for all the good info.
The Ambient Temp reading is more than likely the Intake Air Temp (IAT) sensor for the engine. So after a good run, it is reading the air temp it is drawing in from the underhood hot air.
I think folks will like to be able to see what's going on. I've been using a similar setup for over a year and find the information helpful and useful. I mostly use mine to make sure the turbo is cooled off before shutdown. Great information Tim.
I just bought a 3025E and had this ordered with the original package. Looking forward to getting and working with it as I’m a tech geek who tracks all this kind of stuff in my cars too. I can tell you the mileage of my 20 year old Honda CRV and when every service was ever done. Great explanation and I’m sure I will be happy!
I guess Ím kind of “gadgety” myself as well. I had no idea that was available. That seems worth the money, and is very cool coupled with the app. Thanks for sharing. I will have to look and see where the data port is on my 4 series. I appreciate the info and the demo! Congratulations to Christy on the new range. I hope you enjoy it. Blessings to you both!
Great video! I found it interesting when you showed on the app the map of you mowing and how much acers you mowed and fuel you used. That would make it very useful in bidding / estimating projects.
Lots. Of great info from the device. I think for you, it may be useful to map the jobs you do for others so you can see exactly how much wear and tear each project puts on the tractor and how much fuel you used. It may help you to adjust your pricing as you see what impact each type of job has on your equipment.

Impressive, was not aware that this existed. I will be ordering one for my 3032E. You could put your food in before you left for work, the oven would keep the food cold - then with either a timer and via remote control tell it when you wanted dinner ready, just as you are walking in the door. I've never been a huge JD fan but one thing I can say JD has always been innovative and thinking of better ways of doing things. My favorite tractor manufacturers is not in business anymore. I do love the channel always learning something.
I have the 1025R , and its too bad that this device and app will not work with my tractor. I have a similar device and app for my outboard motor, a 115 hp Mercury . It does a lot of the same things, but I can see the JD app and unit does more. Very useful in my eyes. Good video Tim on the explanation of this device .
Diagnostics and manuals alone are worth that. Price a scanner from John Deere and I think you will find this to be a fraction of that cost. Thanks Tim. Was not aware this was even out there for the consumer?
Fun video to watch! Maybe if I buy this JD Scanner it will convince my wife we need a tractor to cut our 10K sq foot residential lot! 😂😂 We can always dream!
This is easily worth well over the $99 price tag. I have a Deere wide area mower. When it has an electrical issues it flashes the glow plug lamp. I have to count the flashes and call the dealership to have them lookup the trouble code. Also the manual and parts diagrams, Deere hit it out of the park on this one!
Though I have a different brand, I would get one for mine if I could. Helps in getting the RIGHT part the first time, selling or trading tractor with usage history recorded, etc.
Tim. Found this site you should investigate. They, obviously, manufacture and sell tractor attachments. But they have something that I thought many tractor owners would be interested in. It’s called the ‘Universal Carryall’. The one I would like for my 1025R is the BHeco 110
Thanks for the update. Last time I looked into this, it was only for Apple phones. For the money, it appears to be a wise investment. Only people I see not finding value would be those only using their tractors 50 hours or less a year.
I must have gotten a dud. I ordered the connector kit BXX10255 from green parts store and downloaded the app for my i-phone. Problem is it won't sync with the phone. The light on the bluetooth flashes but won't sync to my phone or i-pad. Guess I'll return it on Monday.
@@TractorTimewithTim Tim, Thanks I'll give them a call and see if I can get a replacement. I really enjoy your videos and seeing new products. I have the Heavy hitch tooth bar and I'm really pleased with it.

@@donthompson5491 Yep, my phones are doing the same thing as you wife's, I think. The phone sees the device, but just flashes "Pairing" briefly when you tap the Deere icon. Once in a while there is another unhelpful message like "Cannot communicate with Deere". I'm not sure I understand your instructions with regard to the tab, but I don't want to risk breaking anything. I'll just send it back attached to the cable. Thanks for the suggestion, tho!
thank God i bought my tractor before electronic engine control, . the only thing electrical on my engine is glow plugs, starter motor and probably a fuel shut off solenoid. although i do see the advantage of service lists,
Its because of new emissions requirements. But it kind of removed a roadblock for manufacturers. They always had to be careful of amount of fuel and combustion temp to keep emissions low in the past. But now that they are collecting the soot in exhaust, after combustion, they can do things now with the engine they couldn't do before. One of the things they learned they can do is if they put in common rail fuel system (my cummins runs 30,000 psi) then they can use less fuel if they squirt the diesel in at high pressure. It disperses and atomizes better getting a better combustion and more power. But they need the computer to control the injector & other components. Thats why in the past 10 years you have seen some big jumps in power output from diesels. That's one of the reasons why you need to add fuel/injector lubricants when filling up. It keeps injector tips from wearing out too fast from extreme high pressures. Other reason is the method they use to remove sulfur from the fuel also removes some of the minerals that helped to naturally lubricate fuel system. So it's real important with new tractors but even old tractors need the lube now so they don't wear out fuel pumps. Ok... im ramblin now. My bad

ok...if you can install it SO easy it is worth the money. . . I mean look at all these information you can get, that is awesome! these features are so great there is only one sentence that comes to my mind..NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE:)
I love blue tooth diagnostics. The heavy duty diesel engine market has went to odb diagnostic. Makes finding issues a bit easier. I was wondering why tractors haven't or if they ever would. That's a very useful devise. Maybe more info on hydraulic would be handy. I may missed that on the list? But great videot Tim and Chrisy!!I have one series but that's very good info.
This is a great option at a good cost. These days the ECU governs so many sensors that if the tractor wont start, being able to see the ECU information may help for quick diagnosis
You've got brass balls calling that Christy's range. My wife and I agreed years ago all household items are "ours" which works out great for me considering our most expensive items are green and live in the shed.
Sounds like a reasonable cost item that will better keep me aware of approaching service intervals, as well as troubleshooting info. Given the cost of my JD 3032E, $99 seems worth it to better prevent problems..
I’ve got a 4052R and have always wanted more insight into what my tractor is doing especially fuel consumption per hour, I think I know what I’m putting on my Christmas list
I think Christy may find this App to come in handy. She can look and see if you are doing anything with the tractor. Then when you say that you are working hard, she can look at the App and say,.....Tim,.....the App says that the tractor has been off for several hours, and is not currently running. Then you say,.....OOPS!!! What new appliance did you want dear?!?!
Tim, there is actually a Bluetooth connector for some of the L&G tractors for use with the MowerPlus App. It is available for the current model X3's and X5's.
Tim us mechanics spend that and more4 for vehicle code readers so i think its worth the 100.00 this would be great for the lawn care person. they knew everything on each job .
I love stuff like this. I watched several videos of a company in England that tracks down stolen equipment that has a GPS tracker hidden on it. It seems small excavators and other small pieces of equipment get stolen quite often. The service the company provides is they turn on the GPS to find the general area. When they get close to the missing equipment, they have an antenna that will pin point it’s location. I have watched them recover high end cars also. They don’t show the device that transmitting the signal. Does this device help with theft? Like locking out the ignition ..... I guess this device can help with pricing of your jobs.
I really liked what I saw as you demonstrated the use of the JD Bluetooth connection. So I bought one. Just got it today and easily installed it on my JD2032R model year tractor. [Thanks for the free shipping] Also downloaded the app for my Samsung S20 phone. I had to manually load the PIN for the tractor & implements/attachments because the apps camera reader didn't recognize any of the bar codes. My phone would pair with the new device, but it kept giving an error saying that "an app was required". I was never able to get it to communicate any live information from the tractor to the phone! I read the reviews for the app. It appears that some kind of update has destroyed its usefulness. Any suggestions? However,
It would be nice to have just for the codes, parts and manuals. I would get it if my tractor had it. When I get a new tractor, hopefully it will be available for whatever model I decide to get.
Trouble codes is good to have as long as they can give you good info on dealing with the issue. That I would need to see more of.But the price seems to be inline with most BT diag devises sold.
That's for sure. I can see folks calling the dealer more often to report codes that aren't a problem. Plus the added anxiety of seeing an error code on a tractor you thought was working just fine. :-)
EOSJOE Picking a good dealer seems to be the Key..If they are willing to support you even when codes aren’t a big deal would make me think I picked a winning team.
My dealer suggested I get this app when I brought my Johnny home. One year ago this month, I did and it was helpful since it had how to videos that showed R&R of the loader and mower so I could do a quick look to make sure I had the steps right. But now videos are gone and the app has changed to what you have and I like having the info for serial number, service intervals and parts diagrams. Other than that its tells me what service is needed and in X number of hours. I do have to change the hours myself on the app to stay current Alas no plug in for me but then I have $99 more in my pocket
Tim, I purchased a Tractor Plus from Green Tractor Parts (?) to put on my new 3033R. My John Deere dealer installed it but said they had never seen one before. It works partially, does not show all the menu items (live dashboard). I have talked with Green Tractor Parts and they gave me instructions on how to pair it to my phone but that did not change anything. I listed my tractor and all the implements and they showed up on my phone. Could you possibly tell me why the "live dashboard" will not show on the menu? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Just installed mine and my iphone will not connect to my 2017 2038R. Checked all connections and they are all good, the little blue light is blinking in the blue tooth attachment. What have I done wrong? I am running ver. 13.7 on my iphone. any suggestions? Got TractorPlus app on the iphone

I hadn’t thought about that!! Love the idea! Christy
Tim, there is actually a Bluetooth connector for some of the L&G tractors for use with the MowerPlus App. It is available for the current model X3's and X5's.
I think this would be worth $99. Being able to see what trouble codes would be quite handy.
My edl plugs in just fine but some tractors with all the monitors and displays and all those loose wires makes it difficult to get to them sometimes
It looks like a good thing. You can get the stuff that you need when it becomes a issue.
Yes Tim, I would buy the unit in a heart beat, but I own a B 2601 Kubota. I don’t know if they have something similar.
That is a really nice option to get. I wish they had it for my Kubota B2650
Worth every penny just because I love gadgets
Well, I think that's super cool. Too bad it won't work with my 1025r. Oh well. Love your humor at the end.
Tim, do they have this for a 5E tractor?
Does this work on the 1 series. I assume it does since you said you had Johnny and Johnny II.
Keep watching.
I like it, but I'm an orange guy. Now I need to see if Kubota has one of these as well. Thanks for all the video's Tim and hope you are doing well.
I do not know. Sorry.
Did you mean greenpartstore.com?
Yes, I couldn't remember the name at the time, sorry.
Make sure to add the device to TractorPlus app
Hey Tim,
Do you have a 3rd function on your 2038R loader? If you do, which one ?
I have the Artillian kit.
Hello Tim,
Love your videos and your Bible verse at the end. I’m currently waiting on a 2021 1025r. I’m trying to find out if the new 1025r will exclude this option.
Also, is there a auto remote start for warming it up in the winter from your home as is done with cars?
Thank you
Bill Kromer
Kromdog
Included this option!
No, new 1025R will not include the smart connector compatibility.
I do not know of a remote start for these small tractors.
Tim I know this is off the topic of this video, but what pressure dol you run in the 1025rs versa turfs?
I dunno. Haven’t checked em since the Rimguard guy filled em
@@TractorTimewithTim yeah I hadn't checked mine in a while with rim guard but when I loaded up with my counter weight yesterday, they looked flat. Checked them they were at I ky 15psi, but the sidewall says 20psi max which seems low to me.
