The delays are not caused by the French 'punishing' us - it has everything to do with the EU applying Third Country rules, which is what Leavers voted to become. When Priti Patel spoke about ending free movement, did the gammons think she only meant foreigners?

It was incredibly arrogant of these politicians and their loyal voters to think that even as an outside country we would have the same benefits of being in the EU. What absolute drivel-the Dover chaos being down to the French -nothing to do with BREXIT or the lack of infrastructure (kiosks for French police), consequences of which were advised over two years ago.
Looks as though the French have ‘taken back control’ of their border following Brexit. The chaos is solely down to increased passport checks after Brexit and a lack of investment in Dover's port, which is solely the UK'S responsibility. Soon to be PM , Truss's use of megaphone politics, incendiary language, ratcheting up tension while not resolving the problems, will appeal to the more dim-witted of the Tory members and the Mail readers.

When you're in labour, giving birth in the hospitals, are the doctors punishing you?

He said at the end that the cause of the problem isn't brexit. But he also said that the French are trying to punish us. What would they be punishing us for? Well the answer to that is brexit. So we come full circle to the cause of the disruption, being unavoidably, brexit.

Is this the Neil Hamilton who was disgraced in John Major's day for accepting money in exchange for asking questions in the House? One should ask people who have passed the 6 mile queue to Dover what things were like on the French side?

Apparently in Calais, not all of the many kiosks were manned, because they did not need to be, there were no delays. Meanwhile, in Dover, all of the few kiosks were manned, but chaos. lol

I don't understand the trouble. In 2016 the people of UK decided leaving EU. Now they are out and complain at the EU / France, that they are out? You better should accept, you are not longer part of EU. Which mean, you can't travel in freedom through the EU, like a member of EU. So ... what exactly is your Problem UK? 😂😂

We have more serious things to worry about in Europe than giving in to a 3rd country hissy fit.

It might be due to the French punishing us but that still goes back round to being because of Brexit, the UK government decided to take us completely out of the EU and wanted us to get rid of free movement, now we have what we wanted and PM Cameron voted for non EU(third countries) to have the issues we now face. It's those supporting Brexit refusing to admit anything negative is Brexit related.

UK is a third country now. Like many others outside EU. And it requires more checks. Simple as that.

The UK government is punishing us for brexit more like 😂😂😂 can’t blame the EU for protecting their borders can we. Did we really think we would be able to carry on as normal whilst making others jump through hoops?
