Thanks for watching! Yes, the XL750 is a great machine and Dillon's customer service is second to none. I have an Armanov round counter (see the review I did on it) and that will tell you the rate at which you're putting out completed cartridges. I'm consistently at 1,400 to 1,500 per hour and I only stop to reload primers! Out 1,000 rounds I may have 2-3 rounds where the primer when in sideways (due to me missing a NATO case that had a crimped primer pocket). Otherwise, I gauge every finished cartridge and they're all perfect.
Thanks for sharing the information on the die’s. I just bought a set of titanium carbide Redding die’s for my xl750. I like the idea of the powder funnel makes sense to me that will definitely be my next purchase. I just ordered a new xl 750 so the powder funnel will a good addition and some of the other items also. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and also for your nice comments! The way I have my XL750 set-up, I've had perfect 9mm and 40 cal ammo that has worked flawlessly in my guns and I've never had a misfeed, jam, etc. that has caused me any issues during my competitions.
Your videos have been really helpful picking out upgrades for the 750. I ended up getting a Redding adjustable seating die for 9mm . I noticed you also use it for flat point bullets. Do you have to change out the seating stem when going from Round nose to flat or hollow point? Or does the one that comes with the die work for most type of 9mm bullets?
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you found the video helpful! I do not change out the seating stem since the one that came with it has worked great with round nose, self-defense hollow points, semi wadcutters, and Round Nose Flat Point bullets. I hope that helps!
Doc G's Reloading Ok, great. Mines on the way, after ordering I realized that the Dillon seating die has a double sided seating stem, wasn’t sure about the Redding version and had me a little worried. Good to know. Thanks!
Could you let me know what sku or item number for the powder funnel you order from uniquetek, I am just now getting into reloading, setting upxl750 myself, also will use thebluebullets 115 gr and also berry bullet 115 gr. Hi Justin. Here's the link to UniqueTek's website for the powder funnel: uniquetek.com/product/T1582 Just select "9mm/38 cal." from the drop down menu and then add it to your cart. @@justinw7698 Glad I could help a little. I literally just went to the Vihtavuori website and downloaded their load data for the N320 powder (you'll have to decide on which powder to use that best fits your budget because Viht. is more expensive, but I feel worth it) and then I just went from there. Good luck!
Yes, but only 1 out of 10,000 that I've loaded so far. It looked like the primer was a significantly oval (like a football) and when I pressed it into the case, one of the 'tips' of the football squashed down enough to detonate it. That's why I ALWAYS wear eye protection! It made my ears ring for a couple of minutes, but otherwise, no damage to anything. I really wouldn't stress about it happening. What I do now is just a brief visual inspection on my primers while they're in the plastic primer trays before I dump them into my PrimerPro by Double Alpha Academy.
Doc G's Reloading Also, it looks like you’re a big Vihtavuori fan. I understand that they, arguably, have the best powder in the business. What say you?
@@jonathanl2748 Agree 100%!! I used it to become a Master in F(TR) NRA rifle 1,000 and 600 yard events shooting a 308 Win. cartridge. Stupidly, when I started shooting USPSA I tried what everyone else told me, Titegroup, CFE Pistol, Win. 231, etc. Then I said, hey, let me try Vihtavuori for handguns! I used N310 and it burns so clean that I could put my cases right into my casefeeder and skip the case tumbling alltogether. Plus, I don't have to clean my gun as often, and remarkably, when I tested all the powders indoors the accuracy went up exponentially and at 50ft. from a rest the bullets would about go through the same hole. It's a little more expensive, but I'll never use anything else!
Doc G's Reloading WOW! That’s an endorsement! Folks get so caught up into saving a little money, but it’s really not much more expensive than the other brands. Thank you as you’re saving me untold time and money with your experience.
Not being American I can say that Dillon XL 750 is really crap and an extreme disappointment. It is not Dillon Precision but Dillon Approximation. Dillon's big problem is the manufacturing quality: poorly machined parts, crooked frames, Tools heads that are not aligned with the platform, shellplates that are too narrow etc. Read the forums, you will see that I am far from being the only one, problems are legion, but American users who are chauvinistic and proud of their brands will never be objective as I am. I fought two months with Dillon for alignment problems, with send videos, exchanging parts, not to mention the three weeks it takes to receive a part from the USA, finally having to send the entire press back to the factory to detect a faulty platform when they have been leading me on all this time, taking me for an idiot. On the way back it was better but alignment problem not resolved, and which never will be. In short, my patience having its limits, I sold this pile of scrap metal and it was a great relief. I'm going to go back to a good old Lee press, certainly less pretty and less pretentious, but much less expensive and above all, which works. Dillon: Never again.
Thinking upgrading RL 550 B to 750 dillion. Will get some redding dies
