Oh definitely south Croatia called Dalmacija is for couples that want to experience romantic, mystirious, old colture holidays on sea. Absolutely gorgeous! I never been to Vis Mljet and Lastovo definitely someday otherwise I been to almost all Croatia just dreamy inspiring.
You two are such a nice couple, and this video is really well-made and really useful for people considering also visiting Vis . I wish more Canadian tourists visited our little corner of the world here in South Eastern Europe.
@@DelightfulTravellers sorry if I’m replying late to this (I’m in Vis as I’m typing this) but I heard that Vis isn’t one of the best places to live in.
Vis is one of the most beautiful Croatian islands, but I'm afraid it will soon be overrun by the tourists who would like to see the place Mamma Mia was filmed. Glad you got to see it before that happens. Great video! :)
We really enjoy your video clip. It has been a while since we went to Croatia; we were in Bol, 2012. Would you mind sharing with us some tips: 1) the best way to get to Vis, should we rent a car to go around the island? 2) Where did you stay, a clean room but NOT a fancy hotel? We are 4 adults (parents with both children your ages). Any other tips would be very helpful. Our plan is shooting for August, we are all tired of being lockdown, meanwhile, we don't be in the crowd either. Thanks in advance
1. plane to zagreb or direct to split if possible, then split, then ferry to vis. croatian islands are best explored when you have a car. vis is a bit far away, so rent there if possible. or scooters, bikes. vis is not that large compared to nearby islands hvar or brac. 2. try finding apartment rent from locals, so you can experience living there. best year to go? this year, less crowded. vis has great restourants inland so try eating there. vis was a military island for 50 years, no tourist here alowed so tourist infrastructure is not so developed as other islands, but so much better the experience(more quiet). I live in croatia, dont sail, but for me croatia is a sailing paradise(pro tip..go sailing if you can). Vis also has abandoned military tunels to visit. blue cave is a must, it is on small island just across island of vis. For me, combination of history and natural beauty combined makes croatia if not, most beautiful country in the world. there is so much to see, vis is just a speck, but very special, definetly one of the most beautiful islands in croatia. enjoy the clearl blue warm sea and try finding beach spots around the island thats what car or boat is for.If you need any info, croatians are very eager to help, so you wont have problems there, try interacting with locals for better experience, you cant buy that with money. you have brac, hvar, lastovo, mljet. each island is unique and not far from each other, so if you have a chance , try visiting some other island, wont miss with any of them.
Fetter thanks for the comment. Croatia is a incredible. We seriously cannot get over it. We had high expectations but they have been well exceeded. We still have 2 more Croatia vlogs to do. Split.. then Dubrovnik. 😍 - Trevor
can't wait to see them. And happy to hear you loved my home country :) btw you were so right to go there in low season. I think June is the best month. I went in July and August last year and it was a bit too crowded for my liking
you two are so right!...Vis...its middle of the sea sense of place... i took 3 trans Adriatic ferries between split and Italy before i got off the ferry at midnight and spent a day...which became two blending into three.... in early November...Vis has so much history especially WW2...Tito...right on as usual....
There is so much WW2 history there. Good to know about how long it takes from Italy as well. We knew there were ferries that go there but didn't get a chance to look up how long it takes. Thanks for watching Jim. 😀 - Trevor
I think i let u guys misunderstand the duration of the ferry from ancona italy to split. it is only about 10 hours and almost all routes stop at vis i usually took the overnight both ways so you arrive in the early morning.Ancona has good train service
wow!! i just love yours videos!! Im going to Croatia (15-22 sept). I want to stay in Split like 2 days... and then I dont know. I cant decide beetween Brac, Vis or Korcula... or two Island ...
hi. thanks for your kind video with clear pronunciation and proper speed.(cause im a korean and im really bad at englishㅠㅠ) and i subscribed your channel! i need your advice about my vacation in Sep. my plan is to stay in vis for 4 days. do you think it is too long for size of island and attractions..etc? your advice or recommendation about how to spend for 4 days in msot effective way would be highly appreciated ps : how was the temparature to swim? was it good spot to see many sea creatures?
BlackLab Outdoors Wdym, if I was visiting I wouldn’t be a tourist since I used to love there, I wanna see what it looks like after being absent for almost 3 years
Thanks for watching. We'll never get all those pronunciations right though. We're in and out of countries quite often so nothing like that will stick - Trevor
hetal patel yes we stayed in Vis for a while. We bartered with a tour company that took us to blue cave (from Hvar) to drop us off after the tour on Vis. Then we ferried to Split from Vis... it’s not a regular ferry... it might be once a week - Trevor
if water temperature bigger then 21 Celsius degrees, you can easy swim Adriatic sea have temperature in high season from 21-27 Celsius degrees So if sea temperature lower then 20 Celsius, then is cold (for us from land)
My friend at schools dad is from vis. He kept telling me his ancestors were there since 1600s.. I loovee history so I was like wooooaahhhh ur blood is on this island and cousins.. I did some research he told him about his ancestors.
What time of the year did you go? I am now stuck in the UK with 1 metre of snow and 2 and a half more month before I am finally heading off to Croatia so I am just binge watching these video's to make myself less sad about being snowed in haha.
We were there late May / early June. It's the perfect time to be there as it's not too busy. Two months will go by quick don't worry. Sounds like you got a lot of snow for the UK. - Trevor
Delightful Travellers That is great to hear because the weather seemed lovely on your video's. We are going from the 13th of May until the 27th and I was a little bit worried about the weather. We definitely do, this has been the worst winter in years, red weather warnings everywhere, 1 metre of snow and the UK is running out of gas, so it's definitely nice to just watch video's like these in this cold weather because I know that in a bit over 2 months I will be there 😅
Crazy. Meanwhile in our part of Canada (Nova Scotia) it's 10 degrees C with no snow. So odd. Thanks for watching Cynthia. There is lots more on the way! - Trevor
Hey guys. It looks like a great place to visit. When were you there? I noticed you said the water was cold, like Canadian beaches in the summer. I was in Vancouver last June and water was too cold for me to swim. I’m thinking of going to Croatia in June this year, but if the water is as a cold as Vancouver, I might re-think my plans. Thanks in advance for your help.
We were there at the end of May and early June. The water was cold-ish but certainly doable. We went in the water at one other location. It was very much like a Canadian beach in the summer though. Just .. prettier colours. - T
