Ankers advertising tells you it will get slower speeds if you don't use the original MagSafe cable. Doesn't have anything to do with using a 60 or 100w cable.
Comes down to the fact that total power output is balanced between the ports, and whether the cables are rated for the power draw. Apple has their MFi rated cables to communicate with Apple devices, so the proper current is transferred. For Android, you'd do just as well if not better for fast charge devices and high watt rated usb c to usb cables.
Bells should have went off at around the 4:31 mark. You were drawing 95w of power when plugged directly into MacBook Pro using only one port. You then plugged 2 more devices in and the total wattage fell to 57w! That make no sense and I had similar results in the 120w 737 model I purchased and tested. Ankers new chargers are seriously flawed. Another thing to note is the usb-a port won't get anywhere near the advertised wattage on any apple products. I confirmed this with them and they said if I had a Huawei phone which is not allowed to be sold in the USA, due to security reasons, I would get what they advertised. LOL. Good to know AFTER the fact. Needless to say, I sent the garbage back and am currently researching what brand to try next.
I just picked up the 735 65W charger and it was a bit concerning to see the total power draw decrease when 2 devices were connected. If that is true, it is a serious design flaw, I may need to get some testing equipment to try it myself
I am currently shopping for this stuff.. I am guessing that you are using the 735 65w that is not the "prime version" so the allotment when charging multiple is pre-defined?
Not a fan of the suction cups. Never thought I would see long adapters that can't hold themselves into the socket and need a weird extra part like that! Anker needs to design some models that have the plugs on the shorter side and let it hang like the 733 power bank!
I wonder if this is a limitation from Apple or not, that it doesn't allow charging at maximum speed using type c to type c, even though the charger output is rated at 100W for a single port (Anker 737). I assume your type C cable is rated at 100W, right?
I’m worried that the 733 will break the power prongs and keep them inside the wall outlet. It looks pretty heavy and I’d hate to call an electrician to my hotel room to remove them safely
3:43 could that be the limitation of USB C being 3 Amps at 20 Volts? I read below that you have ALL 5A cables so could that be a limitation of your notebook? that it was perhaps made in a time where USB C was 3A max and thus it is programmed to take no more than 3A over USB C?
733 sounds really good to me. but there is one thing I'm worrying about. Will it constantly trying to charge the power bank to 100% whipe being used as a wall plug, which damage the battery?
Theoretically not a good practice to have it 100% all the time. But it's not a huge deal. Battery degrade over time anyway. I don't have data to prove how much damage will be done over 3 years. It's hard to tell, right?
Would love to see how well the suction cup hold will it melted over time?also the cable connected to macbook with the gan charger will it melted?cause the heat huge,i have anker 2in1 anker cable that melted due to the powerbank heat while charging.
I understand your concern. All cables I use can pass-through 100W. I throw away 60W rated cables. As you can see from my tests, using that same cable, 95W is measured.
How many wattage is the wire that is included in the 733 model? I just wonder if its 60w below, il keep it for my macbook air. I have 100w -capable -anker wires. 😊

With the 735 can it charge two IPhones at the same time ??

@@ToolsElectroDIY Hello! Could I buy directly from you?
@@2011alisska no. But you can get them from amazon links above
@@ToolsElectroDIY The link on 120W hasn't worked.
perhaps the usb cable charging performance is limited by the cables--I recently purchased higher capacity cables and think it makes a difference.
Good idea. I thought I had the 100W cable.
Yeah, I agree, i think the Type C cable may not be 100W capable.
Would you redo the video with a better cable but in shorter version?
Ankers advertising tells you it will get slower speeds if you don't use the original MagSafe cable. Doesn't have anything to do with using a 60 or 100w cable.
Tremendously useful information. You save me a lot of researching time. Thank you.

Right on! Always use high quality cables! All of my USB-C to C cables can do 100W.

True. But I may have a bad cable. I may have to do the test again.

It's long so it won't take much space in a standard power strip.
Your usb-C to usb-C cable can be the 60w cable, not 100w cable.
Your re right. I realized that later.

I probably used a 60w cable

Sounds good, thanks for sharing your experience!
At 10:35, why does the power drop from 59W to 51W when plugging in the second device? This should not happen, their power distribution is faulty.
The total output is shared across multiple devices.
@@ToolsElectroDIY yes, therefore it should not drop, but just redistribute.

a higher quality cable that allows 100W should be used.

I just added to Cart the anker 733 2 in 1. I love how powerful it is. And portable as well to travel

I never use the suction cup. Will try it though. It never melt. If it does, then you should contact customer support.
I wonder if the white usb-c to usb-c cable you are using is 100W capable, some of that cables only delivers up to 60 W.

how about that CORSULIN BRAND 200W in amazon ?
I didn't know that brand.
Please review on Soundcore’s new space q45 headphone
Yes will do. I have them.
Is the Anker 615 only meant as a charging strip? Or can I use it to plug in other things like lamps or anything that constantly draws power?
Yes you can. The AC ports works just like the one from a regular AC power strip.
@@ToolsElectroDIY will it help reduce my electric bill? I wanted to plug up my lamp to it
Hi! I have a question i know nothing at electronic stuff but does 615 can be use for pc outlet ?
If your laptop supports PD charging then yes.
Thanks!
Any time!
Do you have a way to measure the sine wave quality?
No I don't have that instrument.
How many wattage is the wire that is included in the 733 model? I just wonder if its 60w below, il keep it for my macbook air. I have 100w -capable -anker wires. 😊
I don't think the cable is included. 100W cable preferred.
Mine has usb to usb c cable.. im sure its compatible for macs as well
do you have a video on 100w usb c cables? thanks
Yes, please watch my dedicated 100W cable review ua-cam.com/video/JmXmJDUM66I/v-deo.html
Magfast won’t stand a chance against Ankers future chargers😂
right on
Man that's a mistake.you think the adapter is 100% efficient.anker chargers usually have 90% efficiency.usb testers are handy for this job
When did I say it is 100% efficient?
Because you are using kill a watt.it only shows you the power drawn from the mains.why not use your Klein USB meter.
