Btw guys, I'm so happy that COBHC is still alive! Ty for all the likes and everything, and ty to CoB fot lemme show this to everyone!
As Alexi said: "We're the Hatecrew, we stand and we won't fall"
R.I.P Alexi. I cried into my pillow for over three hours the night I heard the news. Gone but not forgotten. Shred in peace brother.
His music makes me cry its so fuxking good
that is so weird you don't even know him
I'm just glad I lived at the same time as such a legend
RIP wildchild
I kind of feel the same way. Will definitely tell my kids about Alexi Laiho
Im glad i had the opportunity to see him live!
R.I.P alexi 🤘🤘🤘
I never imagined that considering Alexi as my favorite Guitarist, the best in the world and listening to him since 2008, would affect me so much his death (to this day).
Exact same here. Listening to COB since 2008, the greatest band in the world. Changed my life
It's quite obvious from the way they talk about it that he had been sick for a while. R.I.P. Alexi!
Have you seen him in 2019 ? he looked like a squeleton and like if he was about to die on the stage...
@@claire6650 Agreed
He already looked bad back in 2016 for the ‘I Worship Chaos’ tour. He was looking thinner than usual and then 2019 he looked like death.
He was so good looking back in 1999 2000 2003 2006
Dude was having horrible stomachaches or sth like that since 2013 so horrible that he had to cancel tour and be hospitalized
“This Road’s gonna kill me”
He knew he was "soon departed" :(
@@martijnpels1172 no circumstance can excuse :(
Also take a look at "Paint The sky with blood" 's lyrics : "Please forgive me for what I've done", like unspoken messages sent to the listeners
Im a big fan of COB. I heard the first song 1998. And the albums after are legendary! Seen them 8 times here in Sweden. I was in the front row at Stockholm knockout. I have no words! I just want to Thank COB and Alexi for all the music. And Alexi will be with me until the day I die! COBHC!
No way I have that DVD I got to see them at Mr smalls down in Pittsburgh even though it was the one and only time it was the best time of my life I even bought a shirt
Thank you Kimberly Goss for letting us know the truth. I know its no consolation, but knowing how my GOAT went has inspired me to cut back and try and be healthier.
What ? Where??
@@SparkShredder I think he's talking about the autopsy report that Kimberly Goss published on her Facebook page.
Whether the family like it or not, it’s absolutely right and her actions have helped me to do the same. Good luck to you my man 👍
@@jameshaygreen6400 You too fellow traveler
Swear to god the one and only time ive called into work in 20 years was the day Alexi died. He was my hero. I literally just sat on the floor, drank an obscene amount of whiskey and cried literally all fucking day, and some of the next day, and i still get emotional about it some times watching old videos and stuff. I never got to meet him, but thank the universe or whatevers out there for allowing me to see him perform 20 feet away from me three separate times. Are You Dead Yet tour, Blooddrunk tour, and 15th Anniversary tour. I will seriously cherish those memories, his music, and just him as a person forever.
I knew there was more to the break up. It was too strange to just break up in that matter after only 20 years.
It took me completely by surprise when i heard, it seemed to me that Alexi was looking healthier than what he did a few years before when he did that documentary for Hexed i think. RIP, he was the reason i started playing guitar.
Condolances for his family and his Bodem brothers. I never met him, or had the chance to see him live but feel a great loss myself. One insanely awesome man has left the earth but not our hearts.
When the boss died I immediately thought about you fellas and how you must have felt after sharing those amazing moments together.
I'm a 54yo fan and can honestly say Alexi's death hit me harder than my stepfather's passing two months earlier. I will never get over it.
You will heal from it all
@@calvinelamparo543 you never heal from a death, its not like a girlfriend breaking up with you, that easy to get through
But someone passing away in your family or a friend is THE hardest shit i ever have to go through,
@@DeathcoreHusky Agreed, you will never heal from someone close passing away. You only learn to live with it.
Lol grow up. You didn't even know him
@@EdWard-ie5wn You're right, his fans didn't know him personally, so I'm not entirely unsympathetic with your bitchy snipe. Maybe his death wouldn't have hit so hard if it hadn't happened at the tail-end of an already apocalyptically horrible year. It was so unexpected.
My first and only show of COB was in 2008 during Blooddrunk tour in US and it was the only time I got to see the legend on stage. RIP Alexi.
RIP alexi.. inspired a lot of us
Man this is so sad to hear. It feels like the "the fight" that happend is Russia is probably related to Alexi's health. Maybe breaking up the band was their last resort in order to try and save Alexi? Imagine standing on stage together for the last time, not as an celebration but as something necessary in order to try and save your friend from himself.
What
Exactly what I have been thinking. Music was everything to Alexi. These three guys from his childhood noticed that his health was going down quickly(as you can tell by checking out the pics from 2019) so they had to do the only thing that could save him, quit the band. Obviously Alexi didn't want to quit so he started a new band and kept doing what he loved knowing that there probably wasn't much time left... It's sad but atleast he died doing what he loved.
@@aappan2441 if you listen to all of Alexis music...from the inearthed demos til BAM...to hear "where dead angels lie" as the last piece you'll ever hear of alexi...its heartbreakingly appropriate
@@unclebobboomergames more than appropriate, he chose that for specific reasons and waited until the last week of the year. Wore the let's fucking die shirt in paint the sky video. I believe he planned all of this. At least half the songs from the last three albums were practically confessions that he would commit suicide.
@@bodom9763 I'm sure his health was very much known to him. Wouldn't surprise me.
I still find it hard to believe he's gone.
I’ve been waiting for months ever since someone said that this interview would happen; when I saw Bodom for the 5th and final time in early 2019, the looks on their faces confirmed what they knew would happen soon which I’m surprised didn’t happen earlier since Alexi was the skinniest then.
Yeah this was predictable, Alexi seemed just bad... Poor man
Yeah for Under Grass and Clover you could see he was sick. :(
@@imnotme1657 That’s nothing compared to when I saw him at Royale in Boston; he stopped wearing tanks briefly at that point probably for obvious reasons, but people in the audience were talking about how skinny he was so much that you could hear it in between songs.
@@michaelgrahamwongacutemadness Yeah that tour in Seattle he looked rough. Had heard he had stomach issues and figured it made it difficult to eat.
@@imnotme1657 Well I think it’s been confirmed that he had a stomach ulcer way before, but there are rumors of Crohn’s disease and other drugs that he didn’t OD on in the end; of course it wasn’t really considered overdosing when it was combined with insomnia medication and two failing organs.
R.I.P. Alexi Laiho!!!😢🤘🤘✌
RIP to a Legend. I remember being blown away when discovering Children of Bodom as a teenager.
Alexi was extremely quiet about this... As a fan, it's hard to see it... A hidden disease, so sad
We all knew something was wrong with him we just thought it was like pills or somthing
Yes... Not a death sentence
@@WayneTwitch It was also obvious that he had health issues and his condition was not necessarily drug related. They had to cancel shows back in 2013 because Alexi was rushed to the hospital with severe stomach pain (and according to some gossip back then, even vomiting blood), which in hindsight was likely a consequence of acute pancreatits, which had developed into a chronic one with other complications. It was around that time he started being sober(ish) on tour and in studio, but he also lost a lot of weight and looked pretty weak even back then. Of course there's a good amount of speculation in what I just wrote, but people being surprised is quite weird to me. Bottomline is, this sad event was in the air for quite some time, not just the last few years. RIP legend.
@@Naxzgul I saw an interview with him about how much alcohol he could take and he said he didn't drink as much as he used to due to medical issues. That with losing weight gave it away that he wasn't very well. But still his death was so sudden and hit hard. He was a legend.
@@lavaembers1393 With Graham from Loudwire? That interview was cringier than CRINGE Musical.ly
These guys must have been missing Alexi so much as they were the co-founder of this band right from the start but what to do guys only his memories now.however his legacy lives forever.Rip Alexi Laiho.miss you so much bro.
The last remaining real artists pass away slowly and we are left with trash. Music had a big loss that day.
Rest in power brother.
Seeing BaM live gave me hope since Laiho seemed to be getting healthier and better...
You're so lucky. I wish I got to hear Bodom After Midnight live. Alexi seemed to truly be on top of his game when he was playing with his new group.
@@Charles_Anthony Dude I just found out about COB like a year ago or so and I was supposed to go see Bodom after midnight live this last summer here in Finland. I am really sad that I never got the opportunity to see them play live, especially since Alexi sounded amazing on the last ep.
I got to see them live once and I’ll take that memory to the grave! What an amazing band and the music they made together will stand the test of time!
I also watched this youtube live back then.
We miss u Wildchild. 🤘
I saw them on what probably was their last tour as COB in the USA. Seeing alexi was a bit rough looking how gaunt he always looking. Glad he was able to give an generation the inspiration they needed
He looked the worst on that tour; therefore I'm not surprised in hindsight, but the fact that he lasted that long and gained some weight after that made me forget to the point that I figured his alcohol abuse would cause death in his 60's or 70's.
this is really sad
Yeah...
Sad to some, but Alexi lived life his way. We all have different thoughts about it. Let's be thankful for the music he was a part of creating. And in a weird way he knew his time would be short as they pumped out as much content as one possibly could. With every track being well made and produced. I can imagine what could've been but am more thankful for being able to be a fan. And experience them live. RIP to one of metals greatest.
when I saw them perform in April 2019 I knew immediately something was wrong with Alexis, it was either he was really sick or really strung out because he was so skinny I was honestly terrified for him and that terror became reality when I found out he was gone…. RIP Alexi. COBHC 4ever 😥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
All you guys are a great inspiration for me, long live to COB
Condolances family and band members, R.I.P Alexi, miss you💔🤟🇳🇴❤
its like you have friend who is addicted and you tried your best but he never listen and you and him know the day will come but you cant dont anything about it. you are sad but you basicly know it will come sooner or later
что не говори, но выглядело это очень скверно, сначала група распалась, по сути давние друзья оставили Алекси, а потом новость что он умер в одиночестве.. печальный конец
I really liked Alexi+am sad he died.I recall many top bands in States asking him 2 lend his guitar playing to better their tracks.Lavina,1985 only legal self estranged wife of Sebastian Bach of Skid Row.
im really sorry to see you guys suffer... i remember when i caught the pick from Henri (he somehow reshaped the pick with his jamming) in los angeles... i was so happy that day that i saw them and i could see that he was enjoying playing on the right side of Alexi (even tho alexi was drifting through the stage xD). To remember how Henkka Seppala was happy breaks my heart and reminds me of how i was shocked and not accepting the fact that i lost my brother. i hope you read this bro... Life is gonna be hard without him. Many people will act as if life should remain the same. Friends\Relatives who enjoyed hanging out with you guys will stop appearing and everyone who knew Alexi will start acting weird towards you. It is okay let them dissappear, act weird and give false excuses because they have to come up with reasons to avoid being close to what reminds them of Alexi because his presence is with you guys. I hope you guys suffer no more... I still can't believe it. Best wishes.
You are the man bro. You understood life. R.I.P to ALEXI
I cried and life has sucked since
Alexi ❤❤❤
I was in that live 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻❤️❤️❤️
R.I.P *WILDCHILD* your tone was different...\m/
So he didn't seek the right kind of medical attention? Maybe his addiction to touring was the reason why. He spent his whole life singing about the Reaper and following the Reaper, and that seems to in a twist of sad, poetic irony, be exactly what he did in real life. I love you Alexi, we will always remember you. Love to the band as well.
Loveu and miss u Alexi ..
Where can I find the full live interview of this clip ?
Классные ребята...
The comment by Wirman knowing about Alexi not getting the medical attention that he needed was the most distressing part.
My dad tried to get me to go to a CoB gig a few years back and I regret every living moment of my life that I said "No, cause I'll see them some other time cause I have plans for the weekend." Altough I live in Finland and have been a fan for all my life I just don't know why I never went to see them... :(
Regret af
😭😭😭😭
Waiting for their statement on all that happend since the band split up :/
I've always wondered how Alexi felt about the whole thing... Like, did he know and just keep going? Did he think he would be fine? Sometimes people feel like "could never happen to me" but, idk you'd think he had to know to a degree.
i think during his last year he tried to get healthier beacause he realised he was in bad shape but the damage was done
Look at the songs from Hexed; he knew.
@@Charles_Anthony 'Soon departed' is probably my favourite song from that album but it was bitter sweet because it felt like a goodbye, even before his passing.
I guess he knew and why wouldn't you keep going? I mean, if music is your life then continue with making music until you can't physically play anymore if you know you'll be gone soon anyways.. Enjoying your last months on earth :)
damaged beyond repair off of halo of blood as well :(
I remember the Chaos ridden years documentary and man did they driiiiiiiink. I'm just wondering if he had a lot more than these guys cus they look nowhere as bad.
I think these guys had their hay day but slowed down as they got older and knew it was time too, but Alexi couldn’t
💗💞💕💔💥💫
☹☹😩😩
Maybe he lost his passion after all these intense years and just couldn't go on.
His liver i bet. Rip
1:07 "He did not seek the kind of medical attention he should have" or you guys could have made an intervention with him when you saw him not seek help, that's what friends do!
They 100% sure tried that
@@Kovenantti Yes I guess you're right.
It’s why the broke up COB. Is because Alexi wasn’t getting the help he needed and as much as they wanted to try, at the end of the day they couldn’t force him.
when someone doesn't want to live and fight for his/her life you should beat shit out of him/her? or what?
He was sick and they kicked him out from his own band.
What was his death's cause?
Please give me the source you took it from.
I recorded it during an Instagram live streaming
It makes a lot of sense for them to all be drinking the very thing that killed their dear friend while talking about his death!
That’s the difference though, those guys got together and had a drink or two. They aren’t drinking all night then for days and days afterward

Uh
These are the smart guys - Roope and Alexi alcoholics.
I wonder why Daniel isn't with them. Does he feel more affiliated with Bodom After Midnight which is also disbanded?
@@michaelgrahamwongacutemadness well I think he wanted a job and to keep going with Alexi. He was hired by him personally so I think he had a sense of loyalty/debt to pursue in his endeavors. His career was more interesting in staying with Alexi. Jaska, Janne and Henka already made everything in music
Where is Roope?
getting smashed in some Kannelmaki bar or at home
@@camshaft30 I'm concerned that Roope's gonna end up like Alexi; sometimes I'm surprised that he didn't die first, but I hope that he sees this as a lesson instead of an opportunity to trash talk.
Why would they invite Roope? His drained state of mind hates them so much that he probably wouldn't even invite himself for the intent to start trouble unlike the even more overweight person who's name has been irrelevant for even longer until all of a sudden acting like they care about him or some other people close with Alexi; this also involves them being a creep by debating randomly with fans that disagree away from their perspective, so I don't wanna hear any whining unless at least if the 4th Sinergy album gets finished and if the briefly-proposed reunion Bodom concert to celebrate Alexi's life ever happens.

Its odd Alexi passed from "alcohol-induced" liver degeneration and his band mates reflect whilst drinking alcohol...
It just wasn't the booze it was a combo of a lot of things apparently. Kim Goss made a statement about it awhile back on it.
There's a huge difference between a drink or two with friends and full blown alcoholism to the point of liver degeneration. Plus didn't Kim Goss say he was also on a huge number of drugs including powerful opiates?
Not everyone has problem with it
this is one of the dumpest statements/words out there... just because some alcoholic person can't stand his mentality doesn't mean normal person shouldn't drink beer or two
I don't get it how you "knew" this would happen and you did nothing to prevent it. Quit Children Of Bodom or not, Alexi was always a brother to them. Knowing someone is in so bad condition he is about to lose his life and just waiting for the news he died isn't a thing a friend and a good man do.
Alexi had a deathwish, it's pretty blatant if you read his lyrics
@@bodom9763 would you elaborate on that, please? Which kind of death wish are you talking about?
its impossible to force someone to get help in those situations, it sucks but i dont doubt they did all that they could
@@bodom9763 There;'s no dead wish! He bought a house for him and his spouse and kid, he was starting a new life with no plans to die. Quit making rumors!
@@karmaceutical3963 I don't blame anybody, my friend, but it seems Janne was his best friend and suddenly whatever happened he wasn't anymore. Nevertheless if you want to help you will find a way, if you don't you will stay aside, find an excuse not to involve yourself. Bohoo, his feelings are hurt, they had a fight, Alexi quit the band... If you care about someone you take his bullshit along with his great moments, that's what family and friends do! Alexi called these guys brothers, brother doesn't wait someone to call him one of his closest people he literally lived in one narrow cabin for years with is dead.
They make me sick! Made no effort when he was alive. Broke up the band. Now that he’s dead, NOW we care! Funny how it works.
Or perhaps breaking up the band was their last resort? You really think they spent over twenty years together and made no attempt to intervene? I'm pretty sure every option was exhausted already.
@@blackcloak666 What everyone ignores, is they would party with him. People need to stop acting like Alexi was the only one in the band, with a substance abuse problem? Ever see them live? They get trashed on stage! Alexi stopped drinking on tour. But the rest of them still drank on tour. Is that how you help someone struggling with substance abuse? And I forget exactly who it was, but one of these 3 said in a interview, the last time they saw, or spoke to Alexi, was the night of their last concert together in December 2019. Not sure if the other 2 cut him off as well. But one of them did. This is not how you help someone.
@@9hk38f none of us really know what was going on behind the scenes, but from what we do know, they let Roope go for similar reasons and I can certainly see situation where they couldn’t continue to watch Alexi slowly kill himself.
It’s easy to point fingers as an outsider, but we don’t know what happened other than we lost an icon and his friends grieve for him. Let’s not throw blame around
@@RiffFlair You are 100% correct. I’m just saying, I’ve seen Bodom live several times from 2011-2017. And I forget exactly when, but starting like 2013 or 14, Alexi stopped drinking on stage. While the rest of them continued to get trashed on stage. So it’s wrong to act like Alexi was the only one, with a substance abuse problem. And the rest of them were perfect and sober. Drinking on stage, with a band mate who is a known alcoholic, isn’t exactly unconditional support. With that being said, obviously yes, there is a lot we as fans don’t know, and will probably never know. Maybe 5-10 years from now a tell all documentary will come out. But I still think it’s messed up how the rest of the band is going about this.
Janne put out a statement that Alexi was neglecting himself and was not seeking help that he clearly needed. I believe it was on Facebook after his passing.
Why be complicit in the man's self destruction?
