Completely agree & I think many in the US gov't privately agree. Problem is we've been trying for 70 years to do that and in the last 20 or so both Israel & the Palestinians have shown little inclination to do so.

I love how he cited Iran 'unprecedented attack" without the caveat that it was a RESPONSE not an attack. It was the response to Israel hitting their embassy or near it, not to mention assassinating Iran's nuclear physicists. Israel has also attacked withing Syria and Lebanon, pretty soon you keep poking the bears that live around you they are gonna band together and take you out. Iran might not have a strong traditional military (navy,af, etc) but their missle attack and more importantly drone capabilities are quite significant. Saying Iran will lose in a tremendous way only applies if the US gets dragged into active war, if Israel is left to fight their own fights (which they should be) then a victory on their end is no where near assured. Its really sad that Bibi's desperate attempt to avoid investigations and criminal charges by staying in power have led to him putting not only the entire citizenry of his country at risk or horrors of war but the iDF's atrocities carried out daily and his actively starving over 1M people to death is causing massive spikes in antimsemitism and putting a target on innocent jews throughout the world due to some people's inability to differentiate between the far right gov't of Israel and the jewish people, just like many cant differentiate between the small number of hamas militants and the other 2M innocent civilians in Gaza.

Netanyahu wants war so he can stay in power. It wouldn't be the first time a politician chose war because people don't want to change government during war. Now, they could be fighting on two fronts. Granted, they didn't start the first one but have not been careful about how they have conducted themselves. Don't forget Israel struck the Iranian embassy in Syria. An embassy is considered home soil.

What we all should be doing is looking at what will be brewing in the middle east in 6 months time. Funny. The U.S. is still apparently "investigating" Israel's initial attack which was a clear violation of international law and still hasn't condemned it. Meanwhile, they started condemning Iran's attack before they even attacked, imagine that. The U.S. response will just be "Israel has the right to defend itself. No other country, just Israel."

Americans don't want money from this war, we don't want to be involved in a war, we don't want anything to do with this! And as far as Hamas, both Israel and Iran have supported Hamas. If Israel stopped funding terrorism, they'd probably have less terrorist attacks. And as far as the US sending weapons, that's causing a shortage of weapons for Ukraine. There's already been ammo redirected to Israel for their war in Gaza.
