Hey just wanted to let u know the refractor feild now only bounces back on a 6 even with +1 and dune crawlers neutron laser does a minimum of 3 per damage dice
So the Guard are not *quite* as invincible as the knee-jerk reaction to their codex would lead you to believe it seems. The guard versus death guard game that tabletop tactics did had a similar result with almost everything on both sides dying. Great batrep as usual Winters!
Honestly, I just love Banebaldes. I don't even care if they're good or not. You basicly take a tank, put another tank ontop of it and then you also mount the guns of a third tank onto the whole thing. They realy do symbolise half of what the Imperial Guard is to me power: in overwehlming firepower. (the other half beeing strength in numbers obv.)
A couple mistakes I noticed. Turn 1, autocannon hitting your robots and ruststalkers do 2 dmg each not one should have killed one of your bots outright. Also robots got nerfed, they no longer grant the 5++ bounce back codex made it a flat 6. That being said always great to watch these!
As a Canadian, I died laughing when your guest was like "eh, buddy!" after you called the Cadians Canadians. It was a perfect impression. Also I now want a red and white guard army that I will call the Canadians.
You can still call them Guard. They have a fancy High Gothic name and a normal Low Gothic name, just like everything else in the Imperium. Both are correct.
make sure if you're mars to do 2 separate rolls, because if you use the stratagem to give knights canticles they only get the first role not the second since they can't be forge world mars. Also Kastelans only bounce back on a 6 now, no modifiers allowed.

I know you probably don't take requests, but I'd love to see a video where you went sans-Cawl, and ran your Penitent Forge as a different Forge World (Stygies greatly comes to mind) and gave us your thoughts on the differences and your preferences.
The Dunecrawlers Neutron Laser does a minimum 3 damage each shot and you forgot that several times when it really really mattered (keeping the Baneblade up, etc)
The ability to steal command points from your opponent is one attempt per stratagem where as the ability to get them refunded from spending them is one attempt per command point spent.
What happened to the "infinity-style" table u had made Winters? Think that'd work really well in 8th and it looks nicer than standard ruins n rocks tables
thoughts, focusing on the Imperial Guard- can you use the Aquila to steal command points when that model is in a transport? wouldn't they technically not be around, or is there something im missing, cause that doesn't seem right t'me. the Baneblade being a Lord of War cannot benefit from any regimental doctrines UNLESS it is part of a super heavy detachment or a Supreme command detachment. last I saw from overviews on the list building section you are not able to have a baneblade chassis benefit from regimental doctrines unless that is the case. because of the baneblade apparently being in a Aux super heavy detachment... no cadia benefits. and remember- when moving, no boon from the Cadian doctrine at all. ... was going to remind of the scion changes before 1:30:34, but a bit of a refresher was there so... hey, good on ya for catching that. there's a lot t'take in. i personally find the scion changes barring the new personal order to be pants, and when compared to the full strategem list the other guard types can have as someone who wanted to dedicate out to scions.... solid meh now.

You are forgetting that Neutron laser does MIN 3 damage. Also Robots now only "reflect" a mortal wound on a 6. They changed it. Further more he can only try an regain a command point when the enemy uses them. not when he himself does.

Winters, you already know how good your army looks 😜 I think this game would have went a little different if the fire was a little more focused and your dragoons actually failed saves earlier on. It seems that the worst enemy to guard will be anything that's -X to hit? Hate to see guard up against the new Eldar Alaitoc.

Canadian regiments are renowned for their pathfiniders and excellent scouts and for their rigorous training in harsh conditions. There exist however a Heretic uprising in one of their provinces who's people speak an ancient language dating back to before the emperor's great crusade and who have often revolted agaisnt their queen in the name of "freedom", but this is a mere lie as they are filthy pawns of chaos who addore Tzench's blue banners.
Remember when a transport is destroyed to; Deploy the troops (any that can't be deployed dies), Then roll a dice for each model deployed (roll of 1 kills them). So what i'm saying is they can't end up where the transport was they'd have to be next to where it was.
Nice, game thanks for the upload. But Winters... where are the Infiltrators? Did they ever show up? Also you are are never shooting your pistols with your Dominus'. Its a fine pistol!
Technically they can still overheat with - to hit modifiers as they’re applied after rerolls. You could roll a 2 against a target that is -1 and the modifier would put that down to 1 with no re roll possible. And if you’re shooting a stygies dragoon...that happens on a 3 too lol
Also there is no steal a command point relic/warlord trait. The rule is you roll a 5+ each time your opponent uses a strategm, you get 1cp if successful. Essentially a better version of the admech one.
When your last Dragoon died he was surrounded by enemy units. Could have used Revenge pf the Machine Spirit Stratagem to auto-explode him and dead out mortal wounds. Great battle report!

You've forotten Shroud Psalm when the Taurox killed the first Robot, didn't you? Would have negated the -1 AP of the gun... Also forgotten the Las Pistol of the Enginseer in CC. Useless most of the time, but might have worked against the Guard ;) All in all very enjoyable, fun to watch :)
Got a question - Adeptus mechanicus and Imperial guard / Astra Mili are both part of the Imperium. - I have seen other Batrep with Astra Mili vs Space Marines. how and why are there battles of them trying to obliterate eachother, ? when they are of the same empire. - is this correct lore wise ?
Adeptus Mechanicus is known to "use" other imperium forces to acquire ancient relics, and also fight for them. Between IG and SM, you can think it as a battle drill, to train soldiers for real battles. :D
Honestly, they should be working as a team 90% of the time, but forces of the Imperium do squabble in battles and skirmishes with each other time to time. Its mostly a neccessity of the tabletope, because half the factions in the game fight for the Imps, its inevitable that Imperium players need to play against each other sometimes or not at all
Is it me or did the guard player forget that the Baneblade has the main cannon and an auto cannon on the turret... Otherwise, good battle to watch, keep it up

Not being familiar with the mechanics maybe take out the easier to hit units first since those 5 to hits, 5 to wounds mean only 1 shot in 9 will wound on average. Then when he can save with a 4 it's 1 in 18....tough way to make a living.
Good game :) The ability to get exactly what you want with the canticles every turn seems pretty strong (since it's intended that you get each ability only once per game or roll randomly for them). Otherwise it was pretty evenly matched. I guess the counter to this is to kill off Crawl? Guard could have done better if the player had been more experienced with the new book I guess :) Lots of fun anyway-thanks for the vid :D
Can you over watch Sydonian Dragoons as it is -1 to hit so a 6 becomes a 5 so a miss? The only way to hit is by using the Guard stratagem for +1 to hit on over watch Great battle report really fun to watch. Two great armies.
I don't think I understand how failing a morale check ends in the death of another soldier. What's the reasoning for that? What's the cause of another random death? Could someone be so kind as to explain this?
I like to think of it as units fleeing when being shot at or simply being cut down when they fail in melee. Either way, its one's interpretation, so whatever makes you feel happy in regards to their not being there anymore. :P
I think of it representing a kind of cumulative exhaustion/grinding down mid-battle. That explains how units that wouldn't really flee from fear (Necrons, Daemons etc) can be removed (they power down/become unstable etc). (I don't know why GW didn't stick to 'Battleshock' from AoS)
The number of times you forgot that the Neutron laser does a minimum of 3 damage is staggering. at 1:23:50 that Lemon Rush Demo should be dead, as you did 13 damage not 11.
As a fellow Admech player it is with deepest regret to inform you that the new Admech Codex has indeed changed the wording of the Refractor Field. Only on rolls of 6 (after re-rolls, before modifiers) does it cause a Mortal wound.
those tanks were really wierd. Like none of their weapons matched. Why give your long range plasma cannon executioner the multimeltas and not the short range demolisher?

the guard player here had the worst fire discipline I have ever seen in a game so far, so, uh, yeah this loss was entirely on misplays

Winter's the Aegis protocol does not effect the repulsor grid on the castelans stated in the new codex (24:21)

He was regaining the command point based on a warlord trait "Grand Strategist". FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

If iam not mistaken its firing the turret weapon one at a time, not doubling shots being fired when moving x amount.
Spacefrisian. They have to be fired at the same target so it makes no difference if you do it together
You got the neutron laser wrong a couple of times, it's minimum 3D for 1 and 2s so you actually got 11 wounds on the baneblade.
You forgot about the minimum damage rule for the neutron laser quite a bit

Can you over watch Sydonian Dragoons as it is -1 to hit so a 6 becomes a 5 so a miss? The only way to hit is by using the Guard stratagem for +1 to hit on over watch

Thomas Brougham overwatch always hits on a 6 regardless of modifiers unless one has a rule to change what his in overwatch like the agripinaa dogma.

I don't think I understand how failing a morale check ends in the death of another soldier. What's the reasoning for that? What's the cause of another random death? Could someone be so kind as to explain this?
I like to think of it as units fleeing when being shot at or simply being cut down when they fail in melee. Either way, its one's interpretation, so whatever makes you feel happy in regards to their not being there anymore. :P
I think of it representing a kind of cumulative exhaustion/grinding down mid-battle. That explains how units that wouldn't really flee from fear (Necrons, Daemons etc) can be removed (they power down/become unstable etc).
(I don't know why GW didn't stick to 'Battleshock' from AoS)

The number of times you forgot that the Neutron laser does a minimum of 3 damage is staggering. at 1:23:50 that Lemon Rush Demo should be dead, as you did 13 damage not 11.
They changed the mortal wounds on the robots to an unmodified 6 only.
Where did you find this, cause i cannot find it in the errata on the community site.

As a fellow Admech player it is with deepest regret to inform you that the new Admech Codex has indeed changed the wording of the Refractor Field. Only on rolls of 6 (after re-rolls, before modifiers) does it cause a Mortal wound.

those tanks were really wierd. Like none of their weapons matched. Why give your long range plasma cannon executioner the multimeltas and not the short range demolisher?
Well, in smaller point games, say like 1k, one would want to build multi function units/vehicles.

No the mars forgeworld dogma allows you to pick two and give both to units with the forgeworld mars key word
