  • Bud Light is trying to regain its spot as America's top-selling beer after sales dropped 23% last month compared to the same period last year. Analysts blame the plunge on backlash against a social media post by transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney. Wall Street Journal reporter Jennifer Maloney joins CBS News with more.

Budweiser doesn't get my money only because their beer sucks.

It's so frustrating to not be able to scream in these idiot's faces. Calling their customers fratty and out-of-touch was the biggest problem, and there's no way they don't know that.

They left out how the marketing executive who pushed this partnership, Alissa Heinerscheid, wanted to and planned to move the beer away from the 'frat-boy' image that Bud Light is associated with. It was to be the first of many steps to expand their demographics. Just like other political corporate campaigns, like that Pepsi ad they mentioned, were all just to increase their demographic of drinkers, and in turn their sales. But it totally backfired on them.

The day Dylan Mulvaney celebrated 365 of woman's hood, is the day Bud Light celebrated broke hood.

It's really kind of embarrassing to watch so-called journalists stumble all over themselves attempting to be apologists for Anheuser-Busch

Here's a thought. Maybe, just maybe, Dylan wasn't a brand ambassador that resonated with Bud's core consumers. For some reason, America's blue collar workers just weren't connecting with a cross-dressing Audrey Hepburn impersonator. Well who could've guessed?

The difference with "a lot of companies celebrating pride for decades" with no pushback is that they have not targeted children and they do not have thier ad executives trashing the customer base.

"Analysts" didn't mention the VP who insulted their customer base. This is why people avoid the mainstream media btw.

Stop playing naive you know why people are upset. It was expressed during the backlash that was also spilled on your social media. This is clickbait and not a real story. It’s also super late to be bringing it back up. Why heat up hot garbage? You are not therapists so let it go😂

I have been a registered Democrat for over 50 years. I do not support many of what I consider to be extreme left positions. The over-the-top push to not only accept the choices of the LGBTQ community but to celebrate their life choices is extremely offensive to me. To have leaders of my chosen political party shoving LGBTQ lifestyle choices down my throat (and other positions of the far left that I vehemently disagree with) has me considering changing my political alliance. While I happily accept the choices people of the LGBTQ community, the MAJORITY of Americans shouldn't be expected to celebrate it.

People dont want their opinions given to them, forced upon them, told how/what to think amd believe. Imagine that. They shouldn't have tried to play in the culture wars when we all know they don't care anyway.

No. It wasn’t the initial video. It was the VP saying Bud Light buyers were “bratty” and “fratty” so the image needed to change. She said it was a beginning of a campaign.

I love how you didn’t show the most unbearable parts of the ad in the clip you presented
