I love how despite running a Michelin star resto, the chef was so cool to play along and actually took the time off his busy kitchen for this one big prank, and he was totally enjoying it. 😂 Funny how when you translate things into French, they sound fancy. 🤣 And the woman---No pretense there. How cute! The husband---he could be a spy with that much response control, I would have burst out laughing already. And the waiters---these guys are obviously well trained. 😄

not reflecting on you as a person
but I do know of someone who lives almost completely on validation by others.
A] why would someone who has led a fulfilling life and reasonably good at their craft be in awe of these fake rating agency/body created eateries? (not to say that the restaurant cook isn't good at his craft or that his opinion is worthless)
      B) would he say anything but that on a televised/ recorded show. wouly they show a negative critique if it were given?
C] he is in it for his own PR and marketing, wasn't wearing the hat or whatever to prevent hair, while preparing the presentation *while we see the presenter wearing one*,and that their establishment served something that could have been contaminated or even moldy or poisonous.. who knows! so does one still feel too good of him
and lastly, if this isn't scripted.. it is a bit odd that all those things in her kitchen fridge had labels when she was probably the only one to ever prepare the meals at home *and she is conveniently unaware of the missing items*
except for some things with dressing or garnishing
how can one not instantly be aware of the taste, dish being home made.. by them!?
      ..
then agaw, I'm not from west and not a non vegetarian.
so I don't know. maybe all meat dishes taste similar whether made at home or... naah I am still not buying it

One of the best pranks I've ever seen on the internet and it doesnt involved people getting shit scared or injured. I enjoyed this very very much. Well done. Its so lovely

I really liked how they were unable to fool the lady into thinking the food was something special. I bet they didn’t expect that to happen. She recognized that it was similar to what she would cook at home, not knowing it was her own food, only presented a bit nicer. Well done to her! 👍

That's a big part of the prank, not the lady having an insane pallet. Michel Roux is a VERY famous TV personality and literally one of the best chefs out there atm. I can hardly imagine ANYONE thinking that a frozen carrot and potato soup can actually be turned into realistic Michelin star restaurant food.

@@user-jb1mb5xh9t Well as similar type of 'pranks' or tests have shown, people can easily be fooled by confirmation bias. For instance I've seen a test done where they poured the same medium priced red wine from a bottle of very expensive wine and two cheaper looking bottles, into glasses and let people taste 'the difference'. Most people were convinced the wine from the most expensive looking bottle was 'the best' and used all sorts of fancy language to express why they thought it tasted better. And the wine from the cheapest looking bottle was the worst in their opinion, although it was actually all the same wine.
But in this prank the lady didn't fall for it, which I believe was against what they expected from her, seeing as this type of confirmation bias is well known and often does influence peoples judgement.

@@user-jb1mb5xh9t There was an experiment in german TV in which a famous chef served guests canned ravioli and all sorts of ready-made shit, just presented more nicely and none of them even suspected a thing... They even commented on how well everything tasted. Most people are influenced heavily by presentation and authority and only view people narrow their mind down to the simple senses with little to no bias.

@@D4nt4lion yes but im assuming that that restaurant would already serve something like ravioli so the dish wouldnt seem weird. Getting served a menu of what is the quintessential middle aged british womans diet when youre at one of the best restaurants in europe with a very famous french chef would always seem off. She doesnt think its special because its not; you would never normally see shit like this in high end restaurants.

@@MacXpert74 i think youve completely missed my point >> this isnt at all the kind of food he makes, and its certainly not what youd expect from a luxury dining experience. Anyone would be taken aback to go to a high-end restaurant and be served the same meal you made yourself for dinner the week before.

She seems like a genuine good overall person, and I think it was awesome how she was such a good sport about it. I hope they do a follow up segment or even episode where she can talk about the experience and try the chef's food.
