In fact, FAA Advisory Circular AC 91-21.1B doesn't even specify any particular PEDs other than transmitting PEDs as prohibited. A fact sheet from the FAA's website even states that a specific exemption is provided for portable voice recorders which are similar to a camcorder. The fact is that the regulation being cited was introduced in the 1960s when cell phones were an unknown.
This was mine. Picked it up off of LiveATC.net later and matched it up. In my other videos, I would hook up a digital recorder to the headset jack on-board and pull United's Channel 9 live.
@kazam9059 On this one, I pulled the ATC from LiveATC.net archives. On my more recent videos I have been recording it on the plane. Don't know about the international flights. I'm assuming you can but there isn't a lot of chatting going on over the ocean. ;-)
@SkyWestCRJPilot Seriously? I have no idea... you know how many flights I've taken on how many types? Did you have a specific question that you wanted to ask or are you just investigating my seating habits? Methinks your answers are best found at SeatGuru rather than me.
@gracerocks95 Run along child. You have your work cut out for you spamming ALL the thousands of on-board videos on UA-cam. You feel free to play pilot on here... I will play the role of the knowledgeable technologist that guarantees that there is a) no interference possible, and b) that, while listening to Channel 9, I would likely know about an emergency BEFORE the cabin crew. If you have THAT much of a need for a power trip, perhaps you are not suited to piloting aircraft anyway.
Whichever ones he can fly on FSX, of course. He's a legend in his own mind.

so was this the atc of your exact flight, or just another flight and copied into the video. Great video btw!
@SkyWestCRJPilot Pretty sure I was in 21F. For some reason I was in row 21 on 3 of the 4 legs of that trip. ;-)
@SkyWestCRJPilot On a 752? I don't believe so. I usually try to stay off the wing for viewing purposes.
Nice vid...what does "TAFFS" mean?
@IADaveMark AH...of course, thanks.
@IADaveMark Ah ok, thanks!
A camcorder is not a portable electronic device...if you're a pilot for United you should know that!! What equipment do you fly??

Hahaha, "You can do whatever you want once you exit 2-7 left, just stay off the grass, and don't go back on 2-7 left." :)

@gracerocks95 And certainly you aren't "hiding behind the anonymity of a UA-cam account."
Get over yourself.
i wish i could come in via 27l. i fly in from lax and its always one of the runways in the opposite direction.
