My husband and I are saving up to build our off the grid tiny home. Outside of our mortgage, we are debt free, but it absolutely excites me the idea of living small, having NO mortgage to pay, virtually no bills (because we'll be providing our own power) and lower cost in food because we will be growing our own. It's a dream we desperately want so we have that freedom for me to quit my 9-5 and him to continue working on developing video games.

LOVE this! My husband and I are currently in the process of paying off debit and building our savings. It’s hard but completely worth it! We have a goal of owning our own home in the future, as well as financial freedom so that’s our driving force! Love the idea of a side hustle. I have a passion of starting a health and wellness blog/business as a holistic nutritionist but scared to take the leap. Thanks for the encouragement! ❤️

Loved this! My husband and I are saving up for our baby expenses that will start when she arrives in October! I'm all about cutting luxury when you can, but also we just take any "extra money" from a paycheck not being used for bills and put it a savings acct online with higher interest! Hello 2% each month!

  • @sofie5521

Really helpful! Thank you 😊 I want to save up for a bit of traveling after I finished university. Another saving tip is, to make different bank accounts, if you can. One for "daily/monthly living", one for luxury affordings from time to time/needs in longer time use (I hope that makes sense) and one for absolutely emergency money for accidents or unplanned necessary payment(if there is no other way to pay it). That is the system that I am trying to use 😊

Loved your energy in this video 💕 I'm so happy that recently this has become such a popular topic expecially around younger people, because I think it's so important. I personally really like all these game type challenges of saving money - where you will set aside x amount of money every week or day, or have a chart of numbers and cross them out when you put that sum of money in savings account, or rounding up numbers when your buying something and putting the difference in your savings account, and my favourite - saving 1 and 2 € coins in a jar everytime I get them (I have saved over 260€ since I started doing this in February).

A saving tip. See up an automatic transfer to happen on the same day either each week or fortnight or month from your main account to a specific account just for savings. Make it one you can't easily access. See and forget. Also, you can set up a rainy day account and do the same as above, but make this one a little more accessible, so you can use it when needed. Another is to save all coins, both gold and silver. Or save every $5.00 note. Only use these for emergencies, not splurging. I've heard of people having an account just for splurging. For those on very low incomes making meals at home, especially rice and beans or rice and chickpeas can stretch the budget a bit so you can save some. Also, if you can afford to pay your bills on time (and still afford food and other essentials) do so, because it can save you in late fees etc. Some companies reward you for paying on time. I hope these are helpful! :)

Also! My favorite saving tip is to automate it! Every month I send $15 to an IRA, $50 to savings, and $100 extra towards my car automatically!
It pays down debt, increases savings, and capitalized on compound interest while I’m just living my life! Ever little bit helps!

A financial book I'm really enjoying is 'I Will Teach You To Be Rich' by Ramit Sethi 😊 he essentially prioritizes spending money on what we truly love and being mercilessly frugal in other areas. He also talks about getting the most out of your credit cards, investing, saving, and asks you to take a look at what your Rich Life would look like. This video reminded me of the book when you mentioned the coffee! He mentions how he doesn't tell people to stop spending money on lattes. "If you love lattes, get all the lattes you want!" I thought it was funny because there is a smoothie I LOVE from a local juice bar that is pricey but I get all the time! This smoothie is my latte 😂

Wonderful tips as always. If you have the savings done automatically like using the digit app or something similar to move those funds, after awhile you won’t even think about not having that amount each week. In time you will realize how much you actually save. Have a fabulous day Carrie. Sorry I’m late on watching this. Never enough time in the day.
