i really like your style of videos. you have a really good presence on camera and really good at explaining your opinion. i look forward to more of your content. I am trying to figure out what setup would be best for me and i think you made some convincing points to get a single ultra wide. thank you. keep up the good work :)
I have the same monitor and love it as well. I’m in a small room though, plus I’m not building a dedicated pc for it. Instead I’m using my main gaming pc which already has two other monitors so.. single monitor made the most sense. If you wanna see it I made a video review of my TRX sim rig by Trak Racer. In it you’ll see that I ceiling mounted my Oddesy G9. I also didn’t want it shaking lol. Great review btw! I agree that super ultra curved makes a great contender to triples.
Have this on my rig and it's a great sweet spot between single and triple monitor setups. Mounted it the same way for the same reasons. With Bigscreen out though, I'm getting ready to finally give VR a go.
I have TrackIr (I had it for flight sims) and I use it on AMS2 and ACC with an 27" monitor. It's perfect to see the oponent at corners. I wonder why I don't see any simracers with it with this type of TV (Samsung g9)
One small downside for me on the 49" is the stretching on the edges because of the curve. You need to have a game that can do projection correction to fix it.
So I have this monitor. It’s great but you can’t see the car beside you in close battles. In hindsight I would have bought triple 32 at around the same price. Where I am now I’m going to add a 27” to each side instead of selling it and starting from scratch
I actually think that the new 45 oled curved from LG are better. Because of a smaller radius, it achieves same horizontal FOV but with higher vertical FOV, plus it’s easier to driver with its lower resolution.
I got a triple setup this past week and it’s been a real headache trying to set it up and get everything aligned. It also takes up so much space. I’m considering getting one of these instead. Am I gotta be missing out on much if I ditch the triples?
Just adjust patiently, and you will be rewarded ;) btw if anybody will need info i was afraid to buy 32" 1500R but it is perfect curvature as samsung 32" 1000R for me was too much when tested at my friends setup, and very hard to get into simrig. I got KTC H32S17, amazing monitors 165 hz and HVA panel i like more than my asus PG279Q single monitor! For 250 eur/pcs. It is great monitor ;)
@simracingenthusiastreviews odyssey G9 45" ultra wide 32:9. Constant pixel freezing, blacking out so only local bacllighting worked, white and rainbow static. All still happened even if I run them on low setting with all special features off such as HDR. This even happened when using basic programs or sitting on the screen saver, not just gaming. Never happened on any other monitor under same conditions. Running on a high spec PC with RTX4090.
The LG Ultragear 21:9 45" will be better for sim racing. Which I do a lot of. Will be able to have more dashboard view for cluster view through wheel etc. Plus it has an 800R curve
I've been using mine on a $30 wall mount, that according to the internet doesn't work, for almost 3 years without issue. I did do a firmware update shortly after I received it in spring of '21
Buy the OLED, the non OLED is extremely Fragile, I can 100% Guarentee you will have 1000 issues with that monitor and it will eventually crack down the middle, especially if mounted to a motion rig
hm. The information given on g-sync is fundamentally wrong und unprecise... actually most of your technical explanations are. Don´t want to be the i-net bully... but when you want to be youtuber and want to give advice to people- you should actually know at least sth about what you are talking about.
@@simracingenthusiastreviews You can Google the stuff that you are not confident with. For example g sync is a hardware solution to v sync. It adjusts , as you said, the hz to the fps. But this reduces tearing. And only that. Another small advantage is that since v sync can now be turned off, the so called input lag that v sync can induce will be circumvented. Still: input lag is usually so small that you would only notice in a fpshooter. But it might be possible that it becomes a problem in high lvl racing too. That being said, the correct top lvl Information would ve been: the g9 has g sync which can in rare cases improve input delays and might for some machines improve the visual quality. Sry for being the "troll" here but I have a strong opinion on misinformation. There is nothin wrong in starting a yt channel if you enjoy it. But there is more than enough bullshit out there so I think the only responsibility is having your facts right or just say nothing about it. Also it is a really easy n quick google search either on wiki or yt... Wishing you the best
Great feedback, it’s on the shopping list to add to my setup in the new year.

My space is limited though.
well, there's a 57" now as you mentioned😝
What's your FOV in iracing with this???
Round 105to 110 degrees
@@simracingenthusiastreviews on iracing yes?
How far are your eyes from display?
And how come 105 to 110?
Im around 60cm far from centre of screen. Fov depends on it - sometimes i am susing different wheel and have to move mointor away@@helmetculture
Great review! I have one of these beasts and it's amazing!!!
thanks!
Are you streaming ?
I do from time to time. On twitch under jakubswiderski
You think an 2060super card would be able to run a Philips 49 ultra wide 144hz ? :)
Depends on graphic settings. Id recommend getting something better though.

Youre gonna miss those few degrees of FOV but I say its worth it - its so easy to setup :)

120hz if running a nvidia gpu
Im on a 3080ti and have 240
@@simracingenthusiastreviews what resolution you running it at? Because nvidia cards don't have dp 2.1 which is needed for 7680 x 2160
I have one as well but its only good for open wheeler or F1 otherwise its lacking so i added one 27" on each side xD
does it get more complex to set it up in software?
VR...nuff said
The 49" Samsung ultrawide are atter rubbish. Ive had 2 blow up after heaps of glitches. Avoid
Sad to hear that. Any specific models to avoid?

VR
Thats one of the ways :)
Nonsense, get VR ! FFS it's cheaper and waaaaayyyy more immersive.

Best single monitor is VR 😝
Actually vr is two monitors ;p
