    A lot of apprehension towards AliExpress in these comments. I don't disagree; there's so much stuff on there (just like Amazon btw), and not all of it is worth one's time. But that's exactly why videos like this are important - it helps consumers make a more informed decision on specific products instead of just guessing when browsing the AliExpress website.
    No experience with those wheels but I run that saddle as well as those TPU tubes. I've got that saddle on two bikes (and a third one unmounted) and no problems so far (albeit low total hours used). Those tubes, they're nice if they passed QC; about 1/4 among the dozen or two I've picked up had valve issues (where the valve meets the plastic).

    David despite the detractors and naysayers keep doing these reviews and whatever other brands and sponsors you want to review. It seems the audience doesn't know that most of the carbon goods purchased are made in the Far East regardless of their branding, and many have maturing to do when it comes to global commerce. Keep up the good work David.

    I have been using these Elite Wheels ENT 50MM for 2 years now. Yea they are a bit on the heavy side but does not matter to me. No issues so far and recently changed to new bearings. Hubs sounds nice. Not too loud and not too soft. Looking to get their Ultralight ceramic bearings ratchet hub wheelset soon.

    I've been riding a tubular ENT that was updated to Pillar Wing 20 for about two years.The spoke tension is constant and there is no wobbling, and the ratchet ridges are not scraped and can be used normally.I think it is quite durable.

    Nice review and I'm glad there's competition to keep cycling affordable. One thing about quality is the initial experience and then how it holds up over time. There's not much you can do about the second part but it is worth noting that price = initial quality and time before replacement is needed. Sounds like you are giving the wheels and saddle a thumbs up on initial quality which is impressive.

      I'm a heavy rider, 225lbs at this moment.
      I have EliteWheels ENT Rim Brake Carbon wheels I purchased on the last sale for $330 shipped.
      I was very concerned about my weight being an issue on cheap rim brake wheels as I've had friends at 200lbs bust more expensive Zipp rim brake wheels.
      I can say after 1500 miles, brake track is still near pristine and the only issue is brake pads residue sometimes gets stuck and I clean it off with acetone. I go through brake pads like crazy now, they'll last 1000-1200 miles on the front wheel but they've been a great upgrade over my aluminum Open Pros.

    • @CanonFirefly
      @CanonFirefly 4 місяці тому +21

      You can easily control the loudness of a pawl style hub by the viscosity of the lube used on the drive ring. Use a very thin oil and they will be loud. Use a thicker grease that will cushion pawls and they will be a lot quieter.

    Those carbon wheels look nice, and I can be sure about the quality and cost effectiveness since my favourite UA-camr says that good about the set. Attractive to say the least.
    However, I still try to keep distances from AliExpress and Temu to safeguard my mental/physical peace against any type of disappointment or risks and also to feel doing good to protect my favourite makers and shops. I may be an old, stubborn endangered spieces but it’s my policy, yet.
    Btw, my Alexrims’ Al alloy wheels weigh less than 1.5 kgs, spin well and robust.

    I have been using the Ride Now tubes for a while now on three bikes. They have been great. I've only had a problem with one of them. It had a very slow leak. It would hold up during a 4 or 5 hour ride just fine. It would be flat after a couple of days. I removed it and saw it has a very thin spot. I guess that is where it was seaping from. I replaced it and the new tube was fine. They hold air for a long time and seem durable.

    • @viet0ne
      @viet0ne 4 місяці тому

      I had issues with my Ride now TPU tubes slow leaking as well. After weeks of trying to determine where it was coming from, I finally realized it was caused by me over tightening the valve after pumping.
      I was screwing the presta nut really finger tight. Similar to how I would tighten my normal tubes. But the ride now tubes with their plastic valve instead of metal are more sensitive to being over tightened.
      Ever since, I've been tightening just a bit more from the point of resistance and now my tubes hold air for 2-3 weeks before they need a top off.

    Hi David, I have the Zeus 3d printed saddle for my Giant Defy and Tcr. I love them, durable and light as hell! The ride now tubes are of patchy quality imo, some seem to keep reasonable pressure, but there are some that develop "pin prick" holes in numerous places that are really hard to find! One tube I binned the other day developed multiple holes almost all at or near the seams. No dirt or anything so im assuming just poor quality! Be warned, but as they're almost as cheap as chips I bin them when more than one hole! I've not actually ridden a repaired version yet btw!

But after about 400-500 miles on them the rear spokes have started making noise and I can’t stop it. It is where the spokes cross each other. Kinda is driving me nuts. I will add the brake track is far superior to my slr1 wheelset. Night and day better. • @MatthewKaznowski
    @MatthewKaznowski 4 місяці тому

    I have all of these and am extremely happy with them for the price. The cassette really digs into the hub and it's impossible to remove it without damaging the cassette. My seat is the other ryet 3d printed saddle they have there and it's comfortable but the middle part has some hard edges (hasn't caused any issues so far though), seems like the glue holding the honeycomb structure makes the edges harder. I have the 24g tubes which have a 50% chance of having a puncture straight out of the box - ok if you're installing them at home but don't use them as backups on the road. The valve is also quite naff as it rattles (it does not have a bolt) and my pump blows off of it at about 75 psi. All very good value but they all have compromises to meet these prices.

    • @blorg8206
      @blorg8206 Місяць тому

      Maybe try the 36g ones, I have used about 10 of them over four bikes and zero issues. I do use them as backups, as they are super compact and easy to bring 2 in less space than a single butyl. I specifically chose the 36 over the 24 as I'm on rim brakes and I felt 36g was light "enough", I'll take the reliability over a 12g saving.

    I got a pair of them after 3500 kilometres the rear bearings gave out after 5500 kms the front ones.
    if you do your own bike maintenance and are able to replace bearings (or you are at least willing to try) I can recommend them if you want to buy them and forget about them this is not the wheelset
    The Bearings are cheap the spokes are cheap as well and arrive within 10 Days if you plan to ride this wheelset alot i would recommend get two 6902 rs Beasrings, two 6802r Bearings and replacement spoke for drive and non drive side. just in case you need to have it serviced
    I had a bent spoke (it was almost runnning completely true and it was my fault it was bent in the first place) and i just went to a workshop with the parts and had them fix it up for me.
    The ride feel is quite good those wheels are more for cruising but they still hold top speed quite well, definetely better than an entry level aluminum wheelset.
    Overall I give them an 7,5 out of 10 since you have to wait a long time for replacement parts it kind of lacks the snap in the sprints but that might just be my legs haha

    I got some 50mm CSC wheels for my old LaPierre rim brake bike and they look great. I've just ordered some for my Giant Defy (50mm also) and can't wait. They're loud, but not too loud.

    Great review and just shows the performance and or quality of expensive (typically euro or U.S) brands is minimal for a lot more moolah. Be great to see a review of their gravel wheels too since gravel is the hot space. I think its the ENT or SLR versions.

    I tried these wheels but quickly decided they're not for me. I'm 70 kg so not very heavy, but the lateral flex is terrible causing brakerub whenever you put the power down.
    TPU tubes also disappointing. Its not that they puncture quicker, but they just dont last for more than a few weeks. After that they just deflate in a few hours.

    Is there a published weight for the wheel set anywhere?
    EDIT: reviews state that they're about 1700gms for the 50mm set.

    Seems like a good deal if you ignore all the hidden costs (not supporting your local bike shops, not supporting your local economy, not supporting the companies that do the research that drives the tech in the first place, accelerating the economic race to the bottom).
