I have a feeling that they would've lived if they had just let Grace walk away when she won the game. But then the aunt decided to cheat and kill her anyway, so Le Bail said "Boom you go."
I think so too!
makes sense
Yeah! Like a penalty for trying to keep playing the “game” after the final buzzer.
Yep like in the end the entity was probably like she wins. She lives. End of story. But the family probably never had anyone from outside win thats why they were panicking
I agree she won the game and they kept playing and tried to still kill her
I remember the first time I saw you guys reacting together and thought "If they're not dating, they should be." Congrats on mawwiage!
Mawwiage is what brings us together today
I love this movie hehe.
Her scream is iconic.
Oh, newly weds! Congratulations and many happy returns!
While I kind of wish they didn't have the prologue, I understand it was probably necessary. It was to show that Alex was close to Daniel (to the point of dependency), and Alex betrayed the location of Helene's husband to the family revealed that he was a coward who would sacrifice anyone for his own safety, as well as showing that despite his denial, he would be loyal to the Le Domas. It also showed a contrast between young Helene and old Helene, as the younger one was the loudest protestor, yet later became the greatest supporter of the ritual; which also foreshadowed Alex's arc, since he similarly tried to rebel, but ultimately embraced the evil.
Justin was not involved. He was in some office across the country, so he wouldn't know nor care what was really happening. Same thing as the anti-Good Samaritan - he didn't know about the ritual, but was wrapped up in his own world even more than the call centre guy working past-midnight.
As pointed out, Alex not telling Grace about the possibility of the Hide and Seek death wasn't him protecting her, but more of his dependency on people he attached himself to; the only other one was his brother, but with Daniel's demise and Grace's rejection, the only way he would still have any connections would be to default to the Le Domas for support, hence him accepting his role as patriarch.
I like to think that the Hide and Seek game didn't end in death for the seekers if they failed; rather, since the hider has to die if caught, the family made the incorrect conclusion that they would die if they didn't kill the hider first.
It was dawn for a minutes, yet none of the surviving seekers had died, and only died after Helene declared the death of Grace, which violated the rules - she won, so trying to kill her after the time limit caused the punishment of death to the seekers. There was precedent about the flexibility of certain rules, since they didn't use security cameras due to tradition, but when they decide to use them, they aren't penalised - and whether or not one transgressed, the declaration to sin is the same as sinning in those devil contracts, thus not getting punished over the security cameras, but getting executed for trying to kill the winner of the game, distinguishing the true rules of the game.
As for other eccentric horror-comedies. I can think of a lot, though a recent one that is similar to this film is Abigail (2024), since it is also a black comedy with some social satire with its blood and gore. Not as fun but it was decent.
Correction: it was Daniel in the flashback who betrayed Charles, which is part of why he suffered from such strong depression in the future. But he did it because he thought he was protecting Alex; the young Alex witnessed this and it planted the seed for it to be okay for him to do it to Grace decades later.
Samara Weaving has the greatest scream in cinema history. Also, you should check her out in Mayhem and Guns Akimbo. Both a lot of fun
I love how the Butler annunciate the name “DOOR- A as he’s talking about her being crushed! 😂
I have never smoked a day in my life. I HATE the idea of smoking, what it does to your body, I've seen so many family members smoke themselves to death, etc. And yet, if this happened to me, I'd be BEGGING for a cigarette 😂
HOW DID I JUST REALIZE YOU TWO ARE MARRIED?!
This was insane.. I can't wait to watch this in full later. Can't believe I want to actually but f**k it we ball. If you haven't watched it already I recommend The Wild Robot.
the future is scary
I still get goosebumps by her scream. That was from the gut!
Samara Weaving, scream queen.
FACTS!
Perfect reaction to this horror comedy happy Halloween 🎃
thanks for reacting
Samara Weaving is such a stone cold fox and sharp as a tack in this fun & fearsome flick. Saw this at a preview during a Lincoln Center horror film fest w/the cast & crew there for a Q&A. And trust me - no one saw that ending coming. It was one of the most original (and so justifiable) ones to come down the pike in literally decades.
I love this movie so much thank you for the reaction also, I have a theory that the reason they all died in the end was because the aunt tried to cheat I feel like Mr. Lebail was going to let them all live, but then he saw they were still gonna kill her and decided they weren’t worthy enough to live
yay so excited
Check out the movies Would You Rather(2012) and You’re Next(2011).
Love Melanie Scrofano, highly recommend the tv show Wynonna Earp
I loved this movie I have just heard that they are making another ready or not 2 I can’t wait ❤😂
Im actually so curious to see what p2 will even be about
Like them as a couple. Had no idea they were together till right now.
I love this film and think the ending was amazing but last year they said they are making a sequel with the same character returning and don’t know how I feel about it because I feel like the ending was a one and done another film I might suggest is….you’re next….. one of my favorites ❤❤
Samara is a great charismatic scream queen and Radio Silence give us fresh fun with a certain style. Strong combo.
Congratulations! I recommend The Menu for some biting social commentary.
Yesss love you guys
Congratulations! I'm glad that you didn't pull that card.
I love you guys ❤

Es mi película favorita!! Saludos desde España 🙂🙂
Got a perfect movie for you to watch Eight Legged Freaks
Thing is if he really loved her he wouldn't have married her. Tell her what would happen if they married. Live together instead.
I disagree that the family would have lived if they hadn't tried to kill her anyway. They FAILED to kill her in sacrifice. The devil isn't going to let them just skate when they FAILED.
Great ❤
Lol this movie is so absurd. There's so much funny crap (that shouldn't be funny) like the family being incompetent and killing the help, or Justin disabling the car.
