The difference is that Sam Hill would’ve picked up his bike with broken bars. Picked his head up and pedal his ass off and still come in second. Kid was 4 tenths off third. Great rider and great kid. Experience will do him well
The amount of control this kid has at high speed and the way he is able to fit his body into those tight pockets on the turns and rock gardens is pretty incredible
If you watch the first part, he starts to brake about 10 seconds later than a normal person would. The speed and confidence is unreal in the line selections. Hate to see it go down like that but man what a run.
What talent. He rides like "OK how much air can I catch off this obstacle..." Don't beat yourself up, that front wheel tuck will ultimately win you a few championships in the coming years. You'll never do that again.
Since I saw this guy ride in front of remy metailler in one of his videos I knew he will be one of the best, maybe the best. This crash sucks, but it wont matter for his career.
He picked his lines so well and he was flying through everything its a tough break that he fell and I feel for him but this kid has so much potential for a rider with such a young age
He wouldnt clock that time after 80+ riders have been down the track by the time the sharp end of elite had their runs. The track does not improve with more practice and race runs on it, the holes only get only deeper and deeper...
@@rob141 maybe thats why he fell? I never understood this point... he was faster before he crashed but maybe that's what made him crash? people always judge from time splits, a crash is a crash, he was riding fast, but couldnt bring it all to the finish line sometimes a safer/smother run is faster than go for it at 120%
That’s exactly where Sam Hill crashed at worlds in 2008 (ish). Super high speed corner, end of race run, dusty dry corner, if you take it inside it’s even sketchier. Not nearly as tech as the rest of the track but I can totally see why it has claimed a number of victims race runs over the years.
Wow, that's a heartbreaking crash after an epic DH run! Snapped the left half of his bar right off! And it looked like he'd come all the way out of the corner...
FWIW: His time was best at Split 3 by 0.030 second over Williams, but at Split 4 he was down 0.267 second. The wreck was between Split 4 and the finish. No idea if he would have caught Williams if he didn't crash. The final section, from Split 4 to finish line, took most riders about 30 to 35 seconds. Tough to make up 0.267 second in such a short stretch, but if anyone can do it it would be Goldstone.
This reminds me of a similar event to when a young redbull athlete at the top of their game pushing to the absolute limit on the jeddah street circuit only to crash on the very last corner of the of his lap
The line choice that this kid has is truly insane. He sees things that no other person can, truly an elite athlete. This run, without a doubt, would have won him the title
I know it sucks to crash in a spot so close to the finish in a huge race, but what a way to crash. Low side slide on dirt after some braking into the corner. Best outcome possible really. Too young and too much potential to have a major injury.
Maybe these last couple of races will be good prep for his elite career. There are a lot of juniors who have struggled to make the transition to elite initially. Having these crashes now will hopefully teach him and make him mature quickly as a rider. Williams seems to have his stuff sorted these last two races. It's not always the fastest that wins
This Video is uncut. Vegier had a 3:39, Jackson crashed in the last Corner with 3:27. I bet he would have had the best time this day by a couple of seconds!!!
the run was so insane he gapped everything possible
This kids gona impact the sport and raise the speed up just like Sam Hill did. Legends of the sport
It seems Busting out in final turns might just be a prerequisite of that title 😌🏆
Fact

by crashing?
@@TEAMGFYM Fair enough but he still took the overall either way. He was gutted in that moment and you can’t blame him one bit
for the age that Jackson is, he is going to be a formidable rider when he moves up into Elite
Genuinely wouldn't surprise me to see him win one next year
He's among the favourites for next year, for sure. The way he rides, the technical flow... He's a special one
Did know one noticed I was Jordan Williams was the fastest all weekend even in the the elites he smokes everyone by some margin.
@@paulsoutar2155 himself and Jackson will make for some of the most exciting racing in elites for the following years thats for sure
I'm super excited to see them bring it to the big boys! As long as discovery don't fuck it up 🤞🤞🤞

The amount of control this kid has at high speed and the way he is able to fit his body into those tight pockets on the turns and rock gardens is pretty incredible
Ah bummer! What a run, what an honnor though to do a Sam Hill though;)
Seemed happy with his run
🤣🤣🤣🤣
NO! NO! NO!
I felt that bro
Such a hard one mentally but the speed is clearly there so i guess thats kind of comforting
That must have been soooo frustrating!
No! NO!!
If you watch the first part, he starts to brake about 10 seconds later than a normal person would. The speed and confidence is unreal in the line selections. Hate to see it go down like that but man what a run.
So at exactly what part did you see him using the brakes?? 🤔
What talent. He rides like "OK how much air can I catch off this obstacle..." Don't beat yourself up, that front wheel tuck will ultimately win you a few championships in the coming years. You'll never do that again.
Damn Jackson, right at the fucking end god damnit ☠️ I feel ya dude, what a way to end the season!
Really solid riding. That course looked insanely technical and he floated over everything like it was nothing
Jackson and Jordan Williams both move up to elite next year I believe. They’ll be in the mix, no question.
He should change his name to Jake Stone.
@@RealMTBAddict u should change ur name to heroin addict
Seems like there’s a good chance they both get some podiums, if not a win or two next season
The line choice was nothing short of perfect. Absolutely rippin
AND HE STILL FINISHES!! LEGEND
Making it look almost effortless! Immortal bro!! Tough break, keep threading that needle!!!!
Jackson gave the GoPro editor a run for his money
He got his vengeance at Redbull Hardline tho. What a beast this kid
I knew it was Steve Carell in disguise)
This is heartbreaking! Although usually an event like that brings out the wildest riders, he’s gonna come back looking for vengeance🔥
Jackson is an insane rider for so young.
How old is he?
Cathro predicted some drifting in these flat gravelly turns. What a bummer for Goldstone.
Nobody:
My bike after 5 seconds of this line: CLUNK CLONK CLUNK SNAPPPPP!!!!
That's a kick in the bollocks for sure.

DAMN! I feel you you man! What a run to go out like that... all good CHAMP!
hes not the champ he crashed remember?
@@MegaCharns he won the Overall World Cup title; Champ.
The future of Canadian DH is now, and it is gonna be fire!
That's a future Elite champ right there, hardly ever hear reactions like that. He knew he had that as well!
Great advert for the handlebar manufacturer there 😂
it's amazing, it's really cool and I really like it, thank you for giving a show that can be a motivation, greetings from Goweser

i think he didnt just fall ? hes handlebar snappoed off and make him fall
especially brutal on a run like this. Flawless run
No less AMAZING!!! SPECTACULAR BRO!
We feel for you Jackson! 🙌
Unreal performance. He would have won the elites race with this run.

How much air can you get on this obstacle?
Jackson: Yes.
And How he Or anyone Else Doesn't Fall before his crash Is Beyond Me... Much Love, Blessings physically, mentally and spirituality.
Dammit! such a fast run Jack! super bummer.

unbelievable yes but never underestimate a dry flat corner....it's a trap big time!
Henry Kerr also lost it there and was on pace for a podium in elite, those last two turns are noooo joke
It literally happens to the best of them. Legendary place to wash out.
Wow, that's a heartbreaking crash after an epic DH run! Snapped the left half of his bar right off!
And it looked like he'd come all the way out of the corner...
I just wonder if an aluminum bar would have snapped the same way?
I have seen so many more aluminium bars snap in downhill than carbon
It would have been bended.
Wow I didn't know Michael Scott's son was in this race!
Incredible run
Now that I've seen this, you owe me a GoPro and a run of this track.
You can feel the pain in the voice at the end :(
so unfortunate, jackson is a fricken beast of a rider, also that course looks so fun
Insane that he still got 4th after that. With him and Jordan Williams moving up next year, those all French podiums won’t be a thing in 2023.
don't forget finn iles

Looks like his bar snapped. Was that caused by the crash or did the bar fail and cause him to crash?
So what was the splits before the crash segment?
To come back from that and lay the smackdown at Hardline shows that he's gunna be around for a damn long time.
The line choice that this kid has is truly insane. He sees things that no other person can, truly an elite athlete. This run, without a doubt, would have won him the title
No it wouldn’t, because he already won the overall plus he was down at the last split before his crash
Did the crash break the bars or did the bars break and cause the crash?
After that BLAZING run, the LAST turn! NO! NO!
you crash
you stand up
you brush the dirt and blood off
you do it again.
that why its called progression.
Ничего не понятно. В какой момент сломался? После падения или перед?
Now broke the handlebar after he fell down or before?
is that the handlebar that just snapped off!?
Crazy ride 👏👏👏
Wish they could display his speeds during the run.
The fact that he waited to "show" his "emotions" to the end where croud is located is ultra hillarious
Where can I see the full run?

What happened? Did the bar break first or was he just not focused for a milli second? Why the crash?
Handlebar died while turning
Lost the front wheel on the loose gravel, the bar broke when hitting the gound.
too high speed in corner which he didnt managed to capture properly and lost control on dirt.
@@arthurgolubev the bar snapped in the crash. He went down because he just lost traction on a flat loose turn pushing super hard.
