Fact
The difference is that Sam Hill would’ve picked up his bike with broken bars. Picked his head up and pedal his ass off and still come in second. Kid was 4 tenths off third. Great rider and great kid. Experience will do him well

for the age that Jackson is, he is going to be a formidable rider when he moves up into Elite
Genuinely wouldn't surprise me to see him win one next year
He's among the favourites for next year, for sure. The way he rides, the technical flow... He's a special one
Did know one noticed I was Jordan Williams was the fastest all weekend even in the the elites he smokes everyone by some margin.

Ah bummer! What a run, what an honnor though to do a Sam Hill though;)
His line choices are so good, makes his riding really smooth… so many riders washed out on that turn
The amount of control this kid has at high speed and the way he is able to fit his body into those tight pockets on the turns and rock gardens is pretty incredible

If you watch the first part, he starts to brake about 10 seconds later than a normal person would. The speed and confidence is unreal in the line selections. Hate to see it go down like that but man what a run.

What talent. He rides like "OK how much air can I catch off this obstacle..." Don't beat yourself up, that front wheel tuck will ultimately win you a few championships in the coming years. You'll never do that again.

Since I saw this guy ride in front of remy metailler in one of his videos I knew he will be one of the best, maybe the best. This crash sucks, but it wont matter for his career.

Unreal performance. He would have won the elites race with this run.
He wouldnt clock that time after 80+ riders have been down the track by the time the sharp end of elite had their runs. The track does not improve with more practice and race runs on it, the holes only get only deeper and deeper...

but maybe that's what made him crash? people always judge from time splits, a crash is a crash, he was riding fast, but couldnt bring it all to the finish line
sometimes a safer/smother run is faster than go for it at 120%

That’s exactly where Sam Hill crashed at worlds in 2008 (ish). Super high speed corner, end of race run, dusty dry corner, if you take it inside it’s even sketchier. Not nearly as tech as the rest of the track but I can totally see why it has claimed a number of victims race runs over the years.
unbelievable yes but never underestimate a dry flat corner....it's a trap big time!
Henry Kerr also lost it there and was on pace for a podium in elite, those last two turns are noooo joke

And it looked like he'd come all the way out of the corner...
He picked his lines so well and he was flying through everything its a tough break that he fell and I feel for him but this kid has so much potential for a rider with such a young age

Insane that he still got 4th after that. With him and Jordan Williams moving up next year, those all French podiums won’t be a thing in 2023.

Wow, that kids line choice is amazing!! i guess he's too young to remember Sam Hill's crash on that same berm. Also, that's carbon bars for you.... had they been aluminum, he could have at least got up and still pedaled hard to the finish.
To come back from that and lay the smackdown at Hardline shows that he's gunna be around for a damn long time.

The line choice that this kid has is truly insane. He sees things that no other person can, truly an elite athlete. This run, without a doubt, would have won him the title

The fact that he waited to "show" his "emotions" to the end where croud is located is ultra hillarious
FWIW: His time was best at Split 3 by 0.030 second over Williams, but at Split 4 he was down 0.267 second. The wreck was between Split 4 and the finish. No idea if he would have caught Williams if he didn't crash. The final section, from Split 4 to finish line, took most riders about 30 to 35 seconds. Tough to make up 0.267 second in such a short stretch, but if anyone can do it it would be Goldstone.

Maybe these last couple of races will be good prep for his elite career. There are a lot of juniors who have struggled to make the transition to elite initially. Having these crashes now will hopefully teach him and make him mature quickly as a rider. Williams seems to have his stuff sorted these last two races. It's not always the fastest that wins

I know it sucks to crash in a spot so close to the finish in a huge race, but what a way to crash. Low side slide on dirt after some braking into the corner. Best outcome possible really. Too young and too much potential to have a major injury.
