Hello!! I'm back!!
First off, I wanna talk about Barry. This show is the best thing I have ever watched since Breaking Bad. The amount of excitement I had every single week after a new episode ended hasn't gotten me that hyped up since those good old Breaking Bad days. This show has the most outstanding work of writing, acting, and directing (especially by the very one and only Bill Hader). I can't express enough how much I love this show and how much it means to me. The finale, the Ronny/Lily episode (my favorite episode ever now of any show, right beside Ozymandias), NoHo Hank!! (which this video desperately needs more of but sadly I couldn't fit any of his scenes in...), Henry Winkler, Stephen Root... Everything about this show is literally perfect. I can't name everything.
If you haven't seen the show and somehow this video intrigues you to check it out, please do. It's an experience that's definitely worth your time. Bill Hader, the cast, and crew are geniuses.
This also officially marks my first video on my new laptop (which I am absolutely loving so far.) This only took 7 minutes to render (7 minutes!!!!) While my other laptop would render this exactly in 2 hours.

This show, dexter, and breaking bad are the holy trinity of shows about criminals trying to just live. Walter White was a normal guy who became a monster, Barry Berkman is a monster trying to be as good and human as possible, Dexter walks the line between both, not knowing exactly what he wants.
@@jenniferhodges7281 how is he not? He kills without remorse. Most would consider that a monster.
@@ultrabigfella Well Barry shows remorse and he doesn’t like killing. However, he values his own life over innocents. That makes him willing to do horrible things. I don’t think he’s inherently evil, but if killing innocent people to save your own skin doesn’t make you a monster, I don’t know what does.

This is so incredibly well done I think I’ve already watched it a dozen times. The transitions, the tone, all of it. You perfectly captured Barry’s tortured character and the pie bit at the end was perfect.

This is so amazingly made, it's making me feel so many emotions and wanting to re-watch the show while waiting for season 3 (I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT). Everytime there's the sequence where it shows Barry taking a photo of Chris with his family it just breaks me, good god. Bill Hader is such an incredible actor, I love the way he shows emotions as Barry, just gives me goosebumps. Anyway, amazing work!

Holy s**t. I watched this before I started watching Barry and I thought "wow, this show has got some dark stuff" but looking back on it now, I didn't really know /how/ dark it really is after placing all of these moments into context. Barry has this really dark past that just eats away at him. He was admitted to that hospital for a reason, and he would've stayed if it wasn't for someone on the outside. He is this messed up human with this father-figure manipulating him and forcing him to keep this life-style that just eats away at him. This video is a beautiful depiction of Barry and how this life (that he doesn't want) just creeps up upon him, and quite literally make him walk back into the darkness (the last shot in S2Ep8 of Barry). This show may be under a comedy genre, but it's so fantastically dark and twisted, and overall, human. This video is perfect, and I think I'm staying with this show for a while.

I feel the exact same, best show since breaking bad. It's not a comedy but it's a character study on a damaged human trying to be good. (The opposite of breaking bad)

I've watched this like 20 times now and it gives me chills every time. This show is honestly so underrated, the acting is amazing, the story is amazing, the entire thing is amazing and it deserves more love. I hope you can do more Barry videos in the future because your talent+Barry+= unmatched

That's what I love about this show, Barry's so human. He's relatable, he's likeable but he's not a good guy and as the show progresses you forget that but ultimately Barry will not have a happy ending

Crazy when selecting the right clips, this show can seem like it’s either entirely serious or completely goofy, when in reality it strikes a perfect balance.

I love how this show can be funny yet so serious at the same time. There's moments when the mood is meant to be serious yet it plays like a comedy and it works. Then there are scenes where its fully meant to be serious and your eyes get glued to the screen

this is easily the best fan edit i've seen for ANY show/movie. you represent barry so perfectly and you capture his deepest most emotional moments so perfectly, the transitions are smooth and the voiceovers aren't too mushed together. you clearly know what you're doing and it's amazing, i love this.

I adore this entire edit and how it is works together. xHeather360x did so well. I feel this perfectly gives the right tone for the show considering it is called a "comedy" yet it isn't really comedy (exept Hank!! :,). Every clip was put next to other perfectly matching clips. And the last scene... I love how xHeather360x chose the current last scene from this heartbreaking show and had it as the last scene of this outstanding edit (for while the song is playing at least). Out of the edits for Barry (HBO) that I've seen, this is by far the best one :) Also I got slightly jump-scared by the "Hey Ike ya shit-bird, ya wanna lil pieeee" at the end because I wasn't expecting it lmao :') I also really want to mention how much I love when Gene see's Moss' body (1:48) how xHeather360x makes the clip go black and white, I don't know why but I love it.

I've kept seeing posters and adds for this show and wasnt interested still but in my recommend page this video shows up and curiosity made me click on it and holly shit. This edit is literally the quality of an official trailer for the show and the only reason why I actually want to watch this show is because of this video so you should totally be proud of this !!! Like I'm watching this for like the 5th time in the past week, it keeps dragging me back in lol

it took me like 5 or 6 rewatches to realize the absolutely perfect timing of your edits, the scene transitions so flawlessly attuned to the beat of the song, not to mention the impeccable choice of scenes laid beside each other and the story the whole video tells. the whole thing is fricken perfect but i especially always lose my mind at the switch from barry pulling the gun on chris to him punching the glass at 3:27

i fucking love your use of the song's first verse to illustrate the unhealthy aspects of barry and sally's relationship, i love the comparisons you draw between cousineau and fuches during that first "they don't know you like i do" especially using that scene from lululemon where fuches and barry hug and UGH it's just such good scene choice!! i love love love that the scene with chris in the car directly precedes the montage of violence during the latter part of the song when "i am the driver..." starts up because yes!! that's really the first time outside of korengal that barry killed someone for his own purposes, undirected by fuches, and it so directly leads to everything that comes after and you capture that perfectly. im also not even close to being over "holy ghost that haunts your home" playing over fuches and then barry's repeated attempts to cut ties with him because that is some genius shit right there.
like, the end where he's going down the roads and the last shot being where those roads led him, all over the final words of the song? fuck me SIDEWAYS my dude that's AMAZING
basically this whole video is galaxy brain level editing and so much thought was put into it and you can have!!! it!!! all!!!!

I just finished watching this series and ... One of the best of HBO, without a doubt. Bill Hader impressed me a lot, he does an excellent job not only as an actor in the series, but he is also directing and writing part of the script. When season 3 comes out I will be there supporting him.

It gives me a very strangely pleasant feeling of excitement. I love it. Thanks.
The way you match the lyrics to the narrative...chills. The mark of a great editor is someone who can do more than put sad clips with sad music. It's clear you understand what the story is trying to convey. For example, the "I'll be your muse." lyric while Barry comforts Sally is incredibly telling of how the characters interact. The only times Sally is able to dig down deep and really act is when she is reacting off of Barry's moments of panicked vulnerability. Barry is Sally's muse and she doesn't even know it. So awesome.
P.S. Thank you for introducing me to this song. It's all I've been able to listen to for days, and I think about this edit every time I put it on.

I've been watching Barry on and off since it premiered and I remain amazed by the emotional powerhouse in Bill Hader. I also love the show's balance of darkness and humor. It goes beyond what Dexter accomplished. My favorite episode of the series is Ronny/Lily. One of the funniest and most absurd things I have ever seen on television.

Your style of editing is addictive. This is one of those videos that you watch and you're like, "That was really good... hm" and you move on... until you realize it's playing over and over in your head and you realize that you have to go back and watch it and then you have to keep replaying it because it get's better and better every time. This video is the definition of pure art mixed with intensity. Seriously. I'm still on season 1, but idgaf, I watched this either way, and I don't regret it! I did not expect this video to get so fucking intense from 2:52 to 3:28 where shit just BLOWS UP! What an epic and awesome Barry video, Heather! @@xHeather360x I wholeheartedly agree with you. This world needs more Barry edits. Season 2 was WAY better than season 1, but they are definetly both awesome. I was actually surprised when I saw that each of the episodes were more or less 30 minutes each, and that there was only 8 episodes per season? I suppose I am very used to the TWD formula which has 16 episodes per season. At first I thought Fuches kissed Gene on the back of his head, and I was like... What the fuck? 😂 But when I saw the last seconds of episode 8, I was like HOLY FUCK! Then the episode stopped playing. We won't get more till 2020.. FUUUCK.
Okay let's start from the beginning, THANK YOU for telling me to watch this show, it is one of the best dark comedies I've ever seen. Bill Hader did such a great job making his character both really funny and really, really deep and human. And also I think I fell in love with Sarah Goldberg since her first shot in the show, like the first nano-second of the shot of her back, I didn't even need to see her face ahahahahaha. Now I really need to check out the others show you've reccomended cause you're just never wrong about 'em! So thanks again.
Now about the video... well, what can I really say? I hadn't watched a video so many times in a row since two years I think(?) I think last time was your "One Way or Another" video, which is still one of my favorites from you, the editing in that video is just a tsunami of f*cking epicness! But going back to THIS video:
*-Perfect song choice:* I love the "Rattlebone" idea, it fits so well his character and it gives the video an harmony and yet a flow of energy and adrenaline that fits perfectly the show with it's hilarius moments followed by heartbreaking human situations like the spikes of violence followed by emotions such as regret, shame and failed love.
*-Perfect scenes to lyrics relations:* Like the "desperately chosen from a crowd of one" and the class apllauding him, yet he didn't really need that, just one applause would've been more than enough for him to understand that there's more to him than killing people for money. That really striked something within me.
*-Perfection at it's purest from **3:28** to **4:00**:* I swear I don't know why but EVERYTIME there's an upbeat part in a song you make the most EPIC editing youtube has ever seen. It's just a train of f*cking rage runnin' through you at the speed of f*cking light. Everytime I watch it I feel like punching the computer and just scream at the wall like it ate my last slice of pizza. Or bamboo. Or just bamboo pizza. No other editor can make me feel rage just by editing some shooting and some screaming, you goddamn wizard.
*That smooth and light black flashing at **3:26** and **3:36**:* I swear tho whatever God actually exists that everytime you do that effect it just leaves a sense of perfect satisfaction in me and I don't even know why, I litteraly have to rewatch those parts like four or five times just to notice it?!? It's so subtle and yet so great that it just leaves me in awe and I'm like "I don't know what just happened but that's okay, whatever it was... it was -f*cking awesome- and that's all I need to know." I probably even missed some of that effect in other parts of the video cause as I said it's so subtle and yet fits so well.
Talking about general video-editing things all I can is, great job. The coloring is perfect as always, also always perfect quality of the footage, perfect song, perfect cuts, perfect fades to b&w, fades to black and transitions. (As you know I've always been in love with your transitions, especially that one of Sam and Dean in our "Fix You" collab, I must've worn your soul out by repeating it over and over AHAHAHAHAHA good ol' days)
Well, to finish this off, thanks again for recommending and making a video about this beautiful show, can't wait for S3 (there is gonna be a seaseon 3 right? they ain't pullin' a Sneaky Pete on me? Imma cry a river). Now all I have to do is also watch Ash vs Evil Dead and the last two seasons of Stranger Things so I can watch those videos too without spoilers! Looking forward to your next work of art, in the meantime I'm gonna rewatch this one until my eyes start bleeding, fall off and roll to the floor.
