Been quoted £600 to replace this but I was told price was high as need special tool but from video looks fairly straight forward also spoke to a gearbox company and they said should take two hours to do
if the car is flashing the prnd and I have a fault for hydraulic pressure and i removed the cover of mechatronic but I don’t see any cracks but the fluid is coming out from the berthing valve, the accumulator is not getting unscrewed no matter how much I tried. What should I do please any advise ?
There will still be a great deal of pressure within the accumulator, this would be unsafe to try to unscrew without first depressurizing which requires plugging the car into VW software. If you cannot do this yourself you will need to take it to a garage. Since you have fluid coming from the breather it is likely the accumulator is at fault and our kit would fix that. How to release the pressure inside the pressure accumulator if an attempt to replace is made while the gearbox is still attached on the car? Is draining the oil and disconnecting the battery enough to safely open the gearbox oil pan and unscrew the pressure accumulator?
I have the following fault: P1895, Reduced function because of pressure drop. and the accumulator is constantly running, I can see the hydraulic fluid leaking onto the floor but can't see where from doesn't look to be from the breather at the top. Would this be caused by the housing being damaged or a leak around the mechatronic gasket?
It's difficult to diagnose, we would recommend draining dowm the mechatronic unit and inspecting the accumulator and the block near to the accumulator for damage.
Hi there, our kit is only suitable if the accumulator is cracked and therefore already has depressurized (see fault- loss of pressure). - Georgina, X8R Ltd

How to release the pressure inside the pressure accumulator if an attempt to replace is made while the gearbox is still attached on the car? Is draining the oil and disconnecting the battery enough to safely open the gearbox oil pan and unscrew the pressure accumulator?
No, it should only be unscrewed if it is clear the accumulator or block is cracked and as such the system isn't holding pressure.
