Cool video, I just started learning JKD and watching competent fighters execute the moves is very inspiring and the instructions are very clear. Thanks a lot, hope this channel explodes, you deserve it!
Watch at 4:20 when Thomas kicks him. Notice the control he uses. This is what it is required to make this stuff work. Once you have done thousands of reps you can go much faster in real time. Using the same control. Controlled aggression. This is how you gain skill without breaking your training equipment (partners). Not many understand this.
@@NeritantanGaming My comment is in regard to REAL fights on the street. Sport or dojo matches matter less. One day you might get lucky enough to see on the street someone get wrecked because of a kick above the knee. Then you will know why, when the risk to reward ratio is never worth it, especially with so many other choices having far less risk...choose wisely.
Bruce Lee was also 5'7 and he is the founder of JKD. Jeet Kune Do is for combat and Muay Thai is sport. I will be training Muay Thai and JKD but JKD is optimal for combat. Just use JKD for self defense. Also Bruce Lee criticized Muay Thai because it is highly telegraphed and has very little broken rythm.
It was in 1975 that his widow Linda Lee made the decision to make the information about JKD available to the public. Bruce died in 1973. The core writings and notes were placed together in a logical fashion. The main editor was Gilbert Johnson, along with Mrs. Lee, and Dan Inosanto helped put the information together into an organized text.

I would recommend motocross shop.
tommy carruthus has some on his shop if I am not mistaken
Interesting no one ever taught me to kick with heel. Will try it.
Jeet Kune Do ist auch gut, sich selbst zu verteidigen.
Hello great video side kick will always be my favlurite kick. I wanted too know what you think of Shannon Lee, Kung Fu Genius and "Warrior" tv series.
Never watched a single episode. I have no opinion on Shannon. KFG has some good interviews.
Thomas, do you think low side kick is better than the straight lead punch for intercepting and attacking?
Depends on the distance and the postion of the opponent.
I'm 5'7 can kicks still be an effective tool for me? Also is there a way I can utilize Muay Thai kicks in the JKD style?
Why?

Before all the kiddies over excite themselves Jeet Kune Do was just a few notes when Lee died. Dan Inosanto finished the work...to cash in $$$$$$$
