Hey Ben, great interview / conversation. I watched the full video and was hanging on with curiosity waiting when he would mention “Habituation” and talk about Cognitive health. Glad he finally got around to referencing these it at the tail end. What an encouraging guy and soul. As a Treble Health patient, it reinforces the trust I’ve had with TH for quality care. Especially when my own medical network let me down. Thanks for connecting with these experts, it’s a constant reminder I’m getting help from the right folks and team..

As a sufferer of Tin-Ear for the last 30+ years, I can say the big takeaways here are: 1. Stress (physical & mental) being addressed. 2. Counseling. I have hearing loss in the 2000-4000hz range. So, my brain is filling that area w/ tinnitus! Fill that range w/ a hearing device and the "T" just about disappears! Also, if I hear any prolonged noise levels I will also have the "T", until my ears recover from the pressure.
My "counseling" has been knowing others who are in that same boat as me. And looking for ways to work around it, and/or ignoring it. Number one for me was acceptance. Until I did, I wasn't confident or relaxed enough to deal with tinnitus. Thanks, for confirming the facts with all your great content!

Stress, stress and stress, caused my Tinnitus. 30 years plus. High pitched 8,000hz range. No relief, from trying everything. I listen to 8000 hz white noise on UA-cam overnight at a level just below the noise in my head to help me sleep. Works most of the time. Either that or 4 -5 hour vids of Family Guy. Sometimes I wake myself up laughing.. Truth! 🤚

I love your sincere compassion both of you, gentlemen! I have noise induced tinnitus, but also hyperacusis. And really the hyperacusis is really more of a problem to me than the tinnitus. Tinnitus, I only hear in the morning when I wake up at night when I go to bed or when I’m in the quietness of the washroom. But, the hyper excuses haunts me all day. Just setting my keys down on the counter or the sound of a child squealing. So if I had a choice between the two evils, I would get rid of the hype excuses. Any comments on this, Dr. Ben and better yet any research or improving the hyperacusis situation?

God delivered me from Tinnitus a horrifying condition dat almost made me have a mental breakdown. It started Fed 20/24 afta listening to overheard ear phones. Then I started hearing the rain sounds sleep music in my L ear. I did hearing test n the specialist who took 4 mths all said my ear was ok but I now had some hearing loss. Everyday I wept to my family bcos honestly I tot this was going to make me run mad. I turned to Jesus in prayer for healing& asking HiM to make it more easy for me to bear. Then I learnt to ignore it the more but at night it was just horrible. Then in desperation, I stumbled on some homeopathic medicine Homeocan Tinnitus relief pellets I started taking. I took it like 3wks/ a month Then suddenly I noticed it had suddenly stopped. I wept like a baby! Am so so happy dat am free from this horror

Sometime I can silence my left side but the right can lower in sound but never completely stops ( except one time ) I wish I could find a way to silence it or at least lower the sound ! I’ve been to hearing drs and they know nothing ! I will look for an audiologist!

How do you find a good ENT Dr. I was recommended to one in April and he quickly dismissed me, the hearing test was a joke, the technician couldn’t do the hearing test so he just said words he wanted me to repeat back. Then he came up with a chart showing my range of hearing, no that’s not right. I’ve called a few others Dr’s and they wouldn’t see me cause they don’t do tinnitus people.😪😪

While we don't recommend drinking to manage tinnitus, if it seems to help you, there is nothing wrong with having an occasional drink to reduce the perception.
