What do you make of Geraint's Dogma F? 🔥
Whatever Ollie said. That's all I know about it 🤷♂️
I think it’s hilarious they are riding on duff power meters.
Very nice, young persons bike. Must have run out of money and had to use a drop of Halfords 20/50 on the chain 😅
Ollie says, "Waxed chain patrol, let's check. Oil...🤨 ...disappointing." LOL!
I think bicycles do NOT have a cockpit.
Hilarious to see Olli's face every time the chain appears to be oiled.
If you have seen the way pro mechanics wash the bikes every single day. It's pretty violent. Tons of degreaser. Oil can be great, but it requires washing every day..
He does not like that 👀
He's like a parent: "I'm not angry, just disappointed!"
Every Pro Team uses oil. Some may use wax for time trials but since they wash and degrease the bike every day anyway its just more convenient to stick to the known oil based lubes.
And emergency in race lubrication (mechanic hanging out the window spraying the chain) just would work with wax 😅 but for the consumer and the increase in drivetrain lifespan it's worth it
Instead of disappointment about non-waxed chains, perhaps Ollie should talk to one of the mechanic about why they are using oil lube. My guess, since each bike is power washed after every stage, they don't have time to hot wax 24 chains every night (3 bikes x 8 riders). And probably don't have time to prep 504 chains before the tour (8 riders x 21 stages x 3 bikes).
A beautiful bike. I’ll take mine in blue thank you very much.
Bit like this one? 👉ua-cam.com/video/48_ZQrXwk6Q/v-deo.html
I concur
Oiled Chains Suffered on stage 9 gravel, by the end of it chains were filled with an oil sand paste where the dust stuck to the chain/oil basically like a cutting paste.
They don't ned to worry too much about that, new chains all around after the stage 🙌
@@gcntech id expect the whole bike to be thrown in the bin after that stage to be perfectly honest with you.
Its great to see GCN focusing on probike reviews again this the only reason I ended up with 20 bikes 😂
Now you need to name all 20 😉
Stunning bike. Miss the black and blue Team Sky colour scheme however
stunning bike.
Lovely bike that.
Can't believe Ineos let you film the bike!
We have steady hands 👀
They spend hundreds of thousands sponsoring Ineos to sell these bikes to lawyers and doctors who dress in their weekend Lycra. By letting GCN film the bike they are getting a ton of free marketing. Well not free because I think they sponsor GCN as well but they get tens of thousands of views on their product. Hell I want one, I don’t cycle anymore but I still want one.
PS I’ll take mine in blue.
@@Chiller11 Just a joke, Ineos wouldn't let road.cc film their bikes recently.
@@mattdavis855 Lol
Prob his spare bike
nice ...interesting they are using 54 -40 rings ....some great features , am still catching up with all the latest tech , when i started riding way back in the eighties things were so different ha ha ha.....but yeah very tasty bike thanks for the tour hope he does well in the Tour
I’ve actually gone back to that era with a steel olmo 53/39 and 23 as lowest gear in back, it’s so simple and cheap to maintain, it’s crazy to think they’re now riding with a 34 cassette!!!!!, I’d like a nice Pinarello but the price is eye watering and I’ve found my old olmo is making me work harder and I’m just as fast as on my carbon bike, hills are tougher though😊
@@julianmorris9951 uumm have been using 11-27 11 speed and sticking with 50 -34 quite a few steepish hills on Dartmoor and my aging legs need a bit more care these days, but kind of get why they are using 54- 40 for fast flatter terrain and they are usually drafting in big groups, then they'd need 34 on the back to cope with some of the mountains ....tiz interesting though and lower /smaller gears on the block would make it much lighter , guess it's still trial and error , a bit like tubeless some times better but with these new TPU inner tubes it all changes yet again ....also liking using wider tyres very interesting that 30mm are more efficient and much more comfy ,which is more of an issue to my old bones.
Continental has done a similar blacked out logo on their gatorskins "black" edition. Probably used the same tech to do it on this.
I like to be able to read the logo and lettering. Some conti tires are quite hard to read.
The look of disdain on Ollie's face when he finds out the chain is oiled is priceless.
Stealth look 👍🏼
You guys could make also a video on the Cofidis Look 795 Blade RS with the new cool white paint...
Love the orange!
Ineos always look classy 👌
I would love to know what kind of glue they use on the bar tape, I want to set mine up the same way. That’s clean as a bean.
4:54 - the moment any tour mechanic dreads, waiting for inspector Bridgewoods seal of approval in the form of a simple but terrifying "Good".
Hahahaha this is what all the mechanics have in mind 🤣
Yup I’d love one of those, but it really would be peak “all the gear and no idea”!
1:00 is that a chip in the glossy coating they use on the brake lever?
I prefer the blue, personally, but still a great bike!
Great Presentation ! Which is the brand of bar tape?
Can someone tell me how a waxed chain even lubricates anything? Wax turns into a solid when cooled and then crumbles so how does it do anything for keeping the chain joints moving freely?
good to see the shimano random number generators on there... sorry I mean shimano power meters
Bigger bottom bracket for motors?
Lovely rubbing marks on the rear disc! 😂🏴
this is great but what hair product do you use?
hoping for a time trial or gravel stage specific tech video
The logo blacking out has to do with who is paying for the tires. My guess is that Ineos is paying for those tires out of their pockets therefore Ineos will not provide FREE advertisement. Find out who their tire sponsor REALLY is. Having said that, no mistaking that tread pattern (such that is is).
I am sure that Continental can supply tires with the labels on, and I am sure the team can black the labels out if Continental don't furnish them with a free supply of tyres.
Is Geraint even riding in the 2024 Tour? I have not seen him in one single highlight reel so far... and he's not in GC contention... so I assumed he was not riding in this year's Tour for some reason.
#hackorbodge for the ASO for using zip ties to keep the race transponder mount in place, Si?
you know I like this colourway .
It's cool right!
Blue!
One of the nicest bikes in the peleton.
It's an iconic bike! 🙌
It's undoubtedly a very cool bike but these Pinarellos have been covered to death. Let's see the bike that's arguably one of the hottest at the moment: Girmay's CUBE Litening C:68X AERO
You’re the first person to say anything about CUBE in the TdF
🔥😋
Wow
Is this a new bike? Feel like the GCN crew have been on these for years now
Ollie you should never admit that a man’s stem is longer than yours…
Nah men give credit where credit is due
@@kai_291 2:27 says a lot, check it out
@@kai_291 "Nah men give credit where credit is due" yeah, at the local g@y bar
That bike looks kick ducking arse. 👌
Will it win a stage 👀
Frankly, it looks like it's been in a crash and as a consequence they wanted to fix it but ran out of materials for the chainstays and paint to finish the orange paintjob.. The Dogma was never the prettiest bike out there, but the old Dogmas had a logic to the design, but this one escapes me.
GCN, if you get a hold of the Enve bike, now that one would be worth a video!
I think the seatpost is slightly angled to the seat tube? 😮
How do you mean?
Bring back Eruption Red ❤
If you had the 56 Ollie, you might be able to run a 140mm stem.
Was that grip tape in the bottle cages?
G loves to skate
Best looking bike on the tour
That colour 👌
Sums up Sky/Ineos pretty well - dull but efficient
geeze, heavier than my pinarello f5 105 build with 31mm rubber
Would you prefer this one though?
@@gcntech idk why its not 6.8kg. where are they hiding the lead ?
How much does yours weigh?
@@tommyfreckmann6857 this morning its 7.080 with dual power pedals bottle cages and comp mount (ready to race) could be nearly 400g lighter with DA deraileurs, shifters and fsa crankset. ua-cam.com/users/shorts6ZjAjwCHreE?feature=share
Looks more inline with what other manufacturers do to their bikes. Less curvy and muscular.
Ill take mine matt black if i could afford :D
Like Ollie 👉ua-cam.com/video/94nxltinkEU/v-deo.html 🙌
How much difference are these bikes actually making, there's been that many different teams winning stage races 🤔
Why does the Shimano power meter require a magnetic, but others, such as SRAM, don't need this? ##askgcntech
Can’t see a pinny rollo wobbly tube winning the tour for the foreseeable future.
You never know! Ineos have a strong team 🙌
Skateboard griptape on the bottle cage...
G is a secret skater 👀
I thought Shimano PMs were notoriously known to be inaccurate. For a team obsessed w/ marginal gains, I guess they have to live w/ what their sponsor contracts tell them to use.
You're right Shimano PM's are junk, but being sponsored by Shimano they don't have a choice.
If the tyres don’t have a sticker or a name on them , what the hell do you line your valve up with ? 😱
Valves are not lined up. That’s just a nice 😂
2:11 Use-By Date, not Sell-By Date
Shimano random power generator
I see marketing guys pushing tubeless everywhere. Does any team still use tubulars? :)
I don't think there are any teams still running tubulars in the TDF. I think there was a team or two that ran them in the classics. I think some of the Specialized teams have been running Turbo Cotton clinchers with latex tubes. Tubulars are slower than modern tubeless or clinchers
how is it standing up? 🤯😂
By The Balanced Motor in the Crank 😜
@38 sec. You can just see clear plastic support under b. Bracket.
is this the same Geraint Thomas that Ollie beat in a Zwift race once?
The very same 😉
Thought you was gonna mention ALL of them details and then you glossed over the grip tape inside the bottle cages 😞
56х32 + 11х32 было бы лучше, разница в 16 зубов на переднем переключатель слишком мало нужно 20-28 зубов разницы
I don't think tires come blacked out from factory, seems like bike mechanics just covered the logos with permanent market - possibly not to freely endorse Continental if they don't have sponsorship deal with them.
So now you're comparing stem lengths and Gerraint's is 10 mm longer.
Olly saids 185cm, Simon says 185cm. Simons alway's clearly taller next to Olly. What's going on there?
It makes my heart ache to see a beautiful, expensive bike like that, all scratched up.
After Dan's recent bike video I gotta say I'm disappointed in this one. You need to up your game, where are the measurements Ollie?
Given all the “games” in cycling (including head games), it wouldn’t surprise me if bikes making it to journalists contained a few things that wouldn’t be run in actual competition.
I mean, if you were a competitive cyclist operating at that level, would you let a bunch of strangers have at your bike while you were dozing off in the team van? A bike that you’d be running the next day (or any non-training day)? Probably not.
But your sponsor might like to prep a “press bike” for marketing purposes.
Just sayin…
No wax chain???
They need to start watching GCN Tech!
Pretty surprised by that.
Chain wax is overrated
@@petersouthernboy6327 That'll be why it's so popular with the pros I guess.
Don't see myself riding such a narrow handle bar
I like my F8 better
So much money and no results. Woof.
soo, no one has found hidden motors yet? - also the sound of the spinning wheel .. very nice. no rattle, no strange clicking .. but what else can one expect from a bike that costs more than my car x2 (probably x3)
agree
It's pretty impossible to get away with those motors in a race as huge as the TDF. The UCI/TDF organizers have thermal cameras and magnetic testing. Also the top stage winner bikes all get x rayed tested for motors. It would be far easier to get away with expensive untestable designer PEDs in such a large event. Motors would work better for more amateur events where there is far less scrutiny.
Disgusting...price tag.
It wasn’t made for you.

@@christophertan3195 car guys will read a review on the Porsche GT3 and admire the car. Bike guys will piss and moan about the price of an S-Works SL-8 or Dogma F. No understanding of how halo models work in branding.
funny how non waxed chains are now suddenly “disappointing” since the silica sponsorship. but all the years when gcn was sponsored by muc-off, then “oil” was best
They keep making it ugly
Looks like they've done the same thing with the logos as tyre manufacturers do with tyre pressure info by making steath and bloody unreadable!
Prefer the blue but either way it’s still the ugliest bike in the pro-peloton!
So dissapointing to see how awful modern road bikes have become :(
After a wait of eight months, finally received my (2013/2014) Dogma F frameset in speedster silver. Built it up with Campagnolo Super Record wireless components and Campagnolo Shamal carbon wheels. Vittoria Corsa N.EXT 700 x 28 tubeless tyres. The more I look at my new bike, the more beautiful I think it looks. The technology and form of bikes has evolved enormously in the last twenty years. When I was a teenager in 1970, I was bicycling across Europe, staying in Youth Hostels. There is no way I would want to do any serious cycling now at my advanced age on the Peugeot or Gitaine of my youth. I hope (and God willing) to still be enjoying riding my Dogma F twenty years from now.
Honestly, most dont give a shite what the pros ride...and most of us do not dope
Those wheels are rubbish!
They are terrible, heavy and use to true the rear wheel every 2 weeks.
