Kate made me so angry in this scene! I love her, but she can be so selfish sometimes. Hasn't she learned anything from being with Castle yet? But what I really want to point out is, how AWESOME is Nathan in this scene?! He goes from playful/theorizing, to endearingly confused to angry and hurt seamlessly and oh so convincingly! I loved it!
"she obviously has not a good idea of what she is to Castle"....Seriously? the guy almost blow up for her, like, TWICE, tries to take a bullet for her, has his ass almost freezing to death, and to many things to mention. She MUST be REALLY dumb to not realize by ALL THAT how committed he is. Yes, a job is a huge decision, that is why it was so important she DID tell him about it, not to hide it from him on purpose!
You are right BUT! let's not forget she's still damaged goods, her mother's death wasn't yet fully avenged. I suppose the FBI job was very important for her not because it's a huge step forward in thecareer , but because she expects to do to this new FBI level and find more evidence against Bracken & Co.
@@cspresimirYes definitely the job could be important, both for her personal growth and for helping solve her mother's murder. However, these dont justify not letting him know about it. I understand her traumas, trust issues etc, but the guy stayed with her while she was standing on a bomb, just a couple weeks ago. You cant really question a person's commitment after that. If that hadnt happened, I could have still understood her reasoning, but not after that. The storyline didnt make sense to me.
Works both ways. She's known him for 5 years as well. She should know well enough by now not to hide things from him - not when they're in a relationship.
This scene nor her rationale never made sense. She kept saying "where are we going" and "we don't talk about it." Well had she told Castle that she was approached by the FBI about a job, that right there would have put the issue on the table. Instead, she never gave him the chance. She automatically assumed that he would be upset at the mere notion that she would want to explore a career in the FBI. WHY? What had he ever done to show her that he would take that stance. All he had ever showed was his unconditional love. He wasn't pissed about the FBI. He was crushed because she felt she couldn't come to him; after EVERYTHING they had been through. Again, her rationale never made sense. The man was willing to blow up with her and this is what she does. Thank goodness all turned out 'happily ever after' with CASKETT but the writers lost me with this mess and I was sooooooo done!
Beckett is damaged goods, she is very seriously insecure, she keeps that super tough look but inside the death of her mother has traumatized her, she is in constant fear of being left alone in the world. And thats why she is kinda irrational when it comes to things like this, she immediatly asumes the worst and quite frankly panics a bit. She does evolve a lot the more Castle stick to her, she screws up time and again but Castle realy knows her beyond the super tough facade she keeps and understands why she acts the way she does. On season 8 when the truth about Castle's 2 month disapearence comes out the old Beckett would've thrown a fit and likely left Castle, the new and improved Beckett was able to understand why Castle did what he did, and that was when she finally overcame her insecurity.
Are you f---ing kidding me. 2 weeks earlier he showed how much he loved and was devoted to her while she stood on a bomb. Actions speak louder than words. She had never done anything like that for him. She flat out lied to him.
beckett can act like this is about her, but she pulled the exact same stunt when she was with sorenson when he had to move to Boston because of the job....
exactly finally someone said it... and yet she did the same with Castle. At this point I really wanted castle to break up with her, he deserved better but later episodes changed that thought but still
Remember the "Jordan" episode only a few weeks before and how mad Beckett was that Castle was keeping a secret from her? He eventually broke down and told her in spite of his fear that it would change how she felt about him. How hypocritical of her to do the same thing to him and then give him the it's about me speech.
She lied to him. How could he not be hurt. This has been a pattern with her, the job offer affects his life too. Had she been open and honest with him from the start, he wouldn't have acted defensive.
After Kate was offered the DC job she sat with her father in a restaurant and chose the job over Castle. During the proposal scene she was ecstatic that Rick asked her to marry him since she thought he was there to break up with her. It's hard to figure out the continuity of the writers sometimes.
The whole reason she was contemplating this job is because she didn't know where Castle stood in their relationship. Which is odd, seeing as EVERY Caskett shipper knows how he feels about her. The fact that he proposed to her tells her that he's in this forever. I guess she felt like he never really showed her how he felt or something. I don't know.
It will be interesting to see what direction the show takes when Season 7 starts soon. Fans want to see them get married but sometimes that can be the kiss of death to a series. I like these characters so hopefully the writers will take it in an interesting direction.
Of course she was ecstatic. She was like a convict about to take the lethal injection who's spared ar the last moment. Remember, she went to the swings like in "That is what I am. I can't act otherwise. Now that I said it, you can do whatever you want with me, I accept anything, no questions asked." It's on par with 4x23 Always, where she's again like "Here I am. I made my mind. I want you. Now that I said it, you can do whatever you want with me, I accept anything, no questions asked."
Hey, I'm not saying we caskett fans don't know how much she means to Castle far from it. I was saying was that there's two sides to this and everyone understands Castle's side naturally as do I. It's just that if you watch the entire show right from the beginning she's never been sure of anything when it comes to Castle so maybe shes not quite sure how much she means to him. yeah she hid it but who's to say it was consciously done? It could've been her wanting it all to stay the same in her life
Why didn't she just tell Castle about the interview before it happend. They could have started an a conversation about what it means easily and see where it would head. After a couple ou episodes where the writers tried to mess with us and made us think Castle is the one holding back were are finally back to how it really is. Kate it still the one who has fears to give in too much. He probably would have supported her on this opportunity. Oh Kate...
I can see where they are both coming from. I know that if my boyfriend didn't tell me about a job interview before he had it I would be pretty pissed too! He just needed to get his frustration out. After he had time to think he did the thing he wanted to do in the proposal.
Beckett does not learn does she? In Season 4 she recovered from being shot and remembered everything and yet when Castle asked about it, she hid it from him and he was really hurt about it. Castle almost took a bullet for her, froze to death for her, almost got bombed twice and recovered her once from the bomb in her place in Season 2. Just 2 episodes ago, he came and stood there to disarm a bomb that she was stuck in. That is commitment. And yet she was still unsure about him? I can only imagine what Rick was feeling here. It didnt even occur one second to Beckett how to include Castle into this new job.
Did you check the part at 0:15, right as Castle reaches down for the boarding pass? The cushion is visible there, too, down on the right, and you can quite clearly see a word beginning with CAR there and below it a word beginning with O. Of course, we can't see the whole cushion but I'd say it's more of a joke from Andrew than an actual foreshadowing. He made pretty damn sure that each line, facial expression and camera shot in this episode was perfectly ambiguous. Evil genius, that man xD!
"Keep Calm and Carry On was a propaganda poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of the Second World War, intended to raise the morale of the British public in the aftermath of widely predicted mass air attacks on major cities. It had only limited distribution with no public display, and thus was little known. The poster was rediscovered in 2000, has been re-issued by a number of private companies, and has been used as the decorative theme for a range of products."
It's not about Castle being able to go with Kate. It is about him not being able to talk or work with her anymore. Without that, what else do they have to talk about. Hi honey, write any good chapters today? Moving would take him away from his daughter who didn't go to Stanford so she could be close to him. Away from his Mom. So Castle can just sit in the apt all day and wait for Beckett to get home. She totally is selfish in this scene. My life, mine, she never uses us or we.
You don't change who you are tho just because you are in a relationship. When Kate gets scared, she puts up a wall and runs from her emotions they both know that. She has opened up so much more since shes been with Castle but that is still who she is
We have reruns of season 4 here in Israel, and I'm telling you, I hate her more and more as the episodes go by, yes, I watched all seasons, but watching this season makes me hell mad, she's a liar, she is selfish, never lies for somebody else, only her, the DC job was the worst lie, in Castle's place I wouldn't propose, I would give an ultimatum, me or the job, you choose the job? Good, I don't want to see you again.
she dissapointed me like nothing else , especially when she took that plane without even telling him ...what the fuck was that ... i don t even want to know how upset she would've been if he did that to her..
you're right, I didn't like it, she was totally a different person end season 5 from season 6, it's like they brushed this period of self-centered beckett under the rug. I can pretend this never happened because it was so weird, but honestly, it was a writer mess-up that made me arch an eyebrow.
I understand Kate's trauma, trust issues, insecurities etc etc. And this storyline could have made sense in light of all those IF Castle hadnt literally stayed with her when she was standing on a bomb a couple weeks ago. The guy didnt even consider saving himself unless she could be saved too and frankly it was pure luck that they could stop that bomb. He didnt even hesitate, he would die with her if they couldnt figure out the password. This episode makes no sense, especially so soon after "Still".
Just but we all know what happen in the premier episode and it really make no sense her because in Still there were beyond strong together especially at the end of that episode and this made no sense .I feel the writer go lazy and screw up .
Seriously man, learn to stay in one place! Gawd, I get he's upset with her, and yeah, he's probably justified in it, but I can also see it from her side. I mean, she obviously has not a good idea of what she is to Castle, and a job like that is such a big decision, maybe she just doesn't want to see him hurt. Also, who else would get scared in that situation? A once in a lifetime job opportunity and you know your boyfriend is going to freak out as soon as you mention it?
Castle should't have gotten so upset, I mean hes known her for 5yrs! He knows how close to the vest she plays things. Even though he wall came down in the season 4 finale, there are always going to be parts of her that are always closed off
Kate made me so angry in this scene! I love her, but she can be so selfish sometimes. Hasn't she learned anything from being with Castle yet? What a touching scene I felt so sorry for Castle he was so disappointed in Beckett
Works both ways. She's known him for 5 years as well. She should know well enough by now not to hide things from him - not when they're in a relationship.
She could've told him about the job offer. It's not like Castle's financially strained and can't move to a new city at the snap of a finger.
Exaaaaaaaaaaactly, the man has a sick mansion in the hamptons. Like damn, Kate. DAMN
This scene nor her rationale never made sense. She kept saying "where are we going" and "we don't talk about it." No one is perfect.
She claims she loves him yet she treated him like she treated Demming and Josh, the people that he (correctly) said "she didn't love"
She lied to him. How could he not be hurt. This has been a pattern with her, the job offer affects his life too. Had she been open and honest with him from the start, he wouldn't have acted defensive.
Anyone else notice that Beckett's place is always where the big fight happens? Castle needs to learn to stay a way from there in May!
I hate it when mom and dad fight
Anyone else notice that in the close up of Kate as Castle's leaving she doesn't even look like she feel's at all guilty?
After Kate was offered the DC job she sat with her father in a restaurant and chose the job over Castle. During the proposal scene she was ecstatic that Rick asked her to marry him since she thought he was there to break up with her. It's hard to figure out the continuity of the writers sometimes.

when I was watching this scene I suffered badly. And when I say badly I mean badly :blood pressure went sky high, tears start to go on my face, terrible

Funny how when he's upset he reminds me of Captain Malcolm Reynolds.
"Keep Calm and Carry On was a propaganda poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of the Second World War, intended to raise the morale of the British public in the aftermath of widely predicted mass air attacks on major cities. It had only limited distribution with no public display, and thus was little known. The pillow says Keep Calm with Castle & the bottom word starts with an O. So...

"Darling, this is who she is." as Martha said in this very episode.
I didn't like this scene either I hated when she was with the FBI and when he was talking to her on the swing I thought he was gonna break up with her

as much as I am addicted to CASKETT i trully understand you so much ...

but in their love , that's how it works ...she forgive him so many times and give him chances ...so they never should give up on each other

wouldn't do an ultimatum but I'm definitely reevaluating the entire relationship
Wow. That 'this isn't about you,it's about me, about my life' comment made it seem like Castle isn't in her life.
Kate is selfish egoistic mindless women
I understand Kate's trauma, trust issues, insecurities etc etc. And this storyline could have made sense in light of all those IF Castle hadnt literally stayed with her when she was standing on a bomb a couple weeks ago. Never mind. I zoomed in on the pic & looked at :15 & 1:57 I'm pretty sure it says "Keep Calm and Carry On" ._.

Totalmente de acuerdo. Por segunda vez ella le miente descaradamente sin tenerlo en cuenta.

Yea I agree with y Caste could be her with anywhere so this made no sense at all .
From Wikipedia. I believe that's what the cushion says. What does that mean for Caskett, that's a philosophical question, though...
Seriously man, learn to stay in one place! Gawd, I get he's upset with her, and yeah, he's probably justified in it, but I can also see it from her side. you know she broke up with sorenson when he did something similar to what she did to castle right?
so selfish
He should be proud and supportive
I didn't like Castle's attitude towards the job, the love of your life gets the opportunity of her life and you make it all about her hurting him
