The famous Rolex "Kermit" Anniversary Submariner, released in 2003 to mark the 50th anniversary of Rolex's iconic dive watch, was the first Submariner to feature Rolex's signature corporate green motif and the deluxe "maxi" style dial pioneered on the Rolex Yacht-Master. The applied hour indices, as well as the Mercedes hands at center, are constructed of 18K white gold with luminescent fills. Beating inside the case of this Kermit is the COSC-chronometer certified self-winding Rolex 3135 caliber that boasts a 48-hour power reserve. Watch is presented on a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with folding clasp.

This is one of my all time favorites. It's almost the perfect Rolex in my opinion.
Thanks for all your shows and videos.
Cheers 👍🏻
I purchased one in 2005 and it still looks great...I just never liked the “Kermit” nickname...also never understood the Pepsi and Coke nicknames for the GMTII.
Yes I get the GMT why Pepsi and Coke names came from...just always felt it was cheesy just like Kermit...😬
and here we see a watch with normal lugs as opposed to rare specimens where the lugs are upside down similar to misprints in coins like the 2004 Wisconsin state quarter with extra leaf, no, this watch has normal lugs and they work superb and doing exactly what they need to do and nothing more
Great review as always, Tim! If you could do a new review of the Rolex Submariner 114060, I would immensely appreciate it!
Hi. I just bought one but mine says 16610V instead of LV. It was mentioned as Kermit Anniversary. Can you advise
Great review as always Tim! Truly a beautiful piece👌🏻. Some people love it and some absolutely hate it. One of the most polarizing watches to come out that year ( 2003 ). The “Kermit”wins over “Hulk” for me!
Best,
Hisham.
Would be absolutely perfect if it had the new bracelet with glidelock, the stamped clasp is a real deal breaker for me.
Then get the Hulk
i prefer the lighter weight of these older bracelets. Its good to have options :)
Stupid comment 🤦♂️
Are these anneversary limited edition ?
No they weren’t, but they are no longer made.
It's a fine looking timepiece. I've been considering it as a purchase for some time now but as an owner of 2 Rolex & 2 Tudor already something would have to go.
stephen rhodes - what models do you have? If you are interested in making a trade, let us know!
Thanks it's certainly something i'll consider. I own a 16220 & the new 214270. I also own a 7922R & a 79110.
can some one tell me wat's typically for a flat 4?
I like this one so much !
The best date sub
beautiful
VNice much better than the "Hulk".... what color is the luminous??
Too bad it isn’t white gold with glidelock. So close to perfection 😞
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
great watch but price totally irresponsible. i bought equivalent watches at about 2500 € a couple of years ago, now rolex and omega have sent their prices skyrocketing for watches that are not even collection pieces.
you just couldn't afford it, so this watch isnt for you
The price is “irresponsible”? Get over yourself, bud. Stay in the kiddie pool if you don’t like it. Not everything has to be geared to your budget.
Fries, I hear what you're saying but bear with me for a few minutes...
The 50th Anniversary Model is coveted here in the U.S. I just had to have my 50th Anniversary appraised as a result of a change in my homeowner's policy ($4,875 MSRP in 2004.) Mine is in very good condition with all boxes, dust-sleeves and manuals. Insurance appraisal: $9,200. But the asking price on the pre-owned market is much more volatile because of it's demand. Following up at the request of my insurance agent, I reached out to my jeweler (Boston region) and they confirmed Rolex Authorized Dealers are listing pre-owned 16610LV in showrooms at $20,000 when they meet condition, criteria and vintage similar to my watch.
But Fries, I didn't buy this watch as an investment. I bought it because it reminded me of my dad who wore one back from 'Nam in '67. I wasn't born yet but I know that he sold the watch when I was a tot in order to help support his new family. I wear my watch EVERY DAY. Wearing it reminds me of him. I'd throw mine into the Atlantic without a second thought if it would get me back his Submariner.
The people I know who own Submariners wear them. Interestingly enough, a lot of these men are military and "have seen stuff." They are not guys who read the Robb Report because they find it applicable to their lifestyle. They never brag about their "fancy watch." Hell, they couldn't if they wanted to anyway- I mean Jesus, a G-Shock tells better time, has about 220 fewer moving parts and can be had for $50. But it's these nuances that define the wearer and make the watch the right choice for them.
Thanks for listening and if you ever decide to buy a Rolex, I don't think you'll regret your decision. Similarly, if you decide to buy a Casio and pocket the extra five grand, I'm sure you will be as equally happy.
Warmly, Boston
Why do you say "logging on" ha ha! This isn't 1998 fam
