They said north star island which means Superstar's is cannon in the modern universe. So they were talking about inviting trip.
OK that raises a lot of questions so in Generations, they said, Classic was from the past and In Forces they say he was from another dimension and in this video they say he’s from the past WHICH IS IT?!

I adore Sonic and Knuckles dynamic in this. They always roast each other at every change they get.

Absolute INSANE bombshell. As a diehard Classic Character fan, I'm GENUINELY so happy that they're being acknowledged as modern characters. It makes me, so genuinely ecstatic.

On Tails’ shelf, there’s the plant he got at the end of *Sonic X,* exact same pot. The purple badge he got in SA1. And his Extreme Gear. Also on his chalkboard, Sonic drew himself and wrote “I was here”.

@@thevioletskull8158 I don’t think it’s canon, but simply an Easter egg. It could just be a normal plant with the same pot, Tails has several more house plants so it’s not random or special in anyway.
I was hoping someone would mention the Cosmo plant pot! I flipped when I saw that! And it TOTALLY is the same one! Looked back at the scene from Sonic X. That's Cosmo's heart! I know a lot of fans didn't care for her, but I adored them as a teen... Broke my little heart when she sacrificed herself.
I knew Fang had aliases, it’s pretty common for crooks to do that, given what I have read and learned about them.

I can't believe they're talking about Mighty and Ray in the modern era. I'm still waiting for them to show up in the idw comics. An idea I had for them to appear would be that after Silver returned back to the future. He decides to form his own team after being with Sonic and the others for so long. So he recruits members and the two who join him would be Mighty and Ray. That way Silver sort of has his own version of Tails and Knuckles. Whenever we see Silver in the comics those two will come along and it could be a good way to explain where they have been since the beginning have them come from the future.

Maybe even Honey the Cat, she’s already made background appearances in IDW comics. Perhaps even Witchcart and her minions, maybe in another Tails’ spin-off since they first appeared in Tails’ Skypatrol.

That aside, I think this is just my favourite TailsTube overall. Not because I have any particular attachment to what they referenced, but because of the mere acknowledgement of things they normally don't as well as the character chemistry. This and IDW, especially the preview for the next IDW comic establishes Knuckles' relationship with Amy as someone he respects the opinion of and hates disappointing.
I totally MISSED that, man! Dang, haha! I would have lost my sh*t for sure!
The fact that they are cleaning up the timeline to continue to make Classic Sonic younger Sonic like Generations claims instead of another dimension like Forces is making me smile. Sonic and the crew in their modern, timeskip, design acknowledging the classic guys like Mighty, Ray, and villains like Fang/Nack (I always switch back and forth between the two anyway 😂) is amazing. Kind of wish the games would pull an Archie Sonic and show us their modern designs but alas… I doubt Sega will go farther than acknowledging that they are still out there. That said… it would be cool for Tailstube to explain why everyone’s eye color changes when they age. They all start off with black eyes so what determines their older, grown up eye color? It’s a small thing sure… but if we’re going to touch on Classic to Modern lore anyway… why not explain it?

I think the.. I wanna say clever because I personally think its clever thing that Sega and Sonic Team are doing is:
Classic and Modern are separate for marketing reasons but in universe they're often considered: "From the Past"
I knew you would be mind blown by this episode of TailsTube. Yeah, that was a bombshell of revelations of canonnicalies, and Sega lying to us about Nack for 30 years/3 decades. 30 YEARS/3 DECADES. Oh, and Tails forgot about the events of Sonic Advance 2. Knuckles was tricked by Eggman in that game.

Their probably referring to Trip from Superstars which as expected will change sides since they mentioned the Northstar island the games main location but if it’s her wouldn’t it’d be Modern Trip since superstars is in the past? Maybe her helmetless.

I hope this means the doors have been opened for Classic characters to appear in the Modern era and vice-versa. Within reason of course.

Because she doesn't appear in games, only once, this focus on characters that appear on games.
I have a feeling she will show up at some point, she's one of the remaining classic era characters who have yet to show up. Though technically she was in the same boat as Bark and to a lesser extent, Bean. They're not originally Sonic Team characters, they were made by other Sega teams.

at the end they mentioned the anniversary of their adventure on the north star island, so they mean sonic superstars which mean amy was refering to a character from that game, it could be Trip or Fang (if it's Trip they would have to make a modern design, and also the same if they were refering to Fang)

They said Northstar Islands, (Superstars) not Starfall Islands, (Frontiers), at the there. They are probably talking about Trip. Hence why it ended a T sounding name from Amy there.
Don't forget the white plant pot on the shelf! That's totally the same pot from the end of Sonic X containing Cosmo's heart! That scene broke me as a teen. I know some people don't like Cosmo and Tails being a thing... But I liked the ship. And I liked her! It made my day seeing that as one of the easter-eggs in this episode. And DANG Bark and Bean, AND Knuckles Chaotix being mentioned!? Wow!

I'm just wondering, considering the icons at the bottom of Tail's screen, whether it'll be implied Amy sold her Mobian-Twitter analog to like Shadow or something, who then proceeds to edge it all up, as a play on Elon's whole X thing.
Nope Classic and Modern are one and the same the dimension stuff is retconned as far as we know from Tailstube.
Absolute bombshell of a tailstube
I wonder what they were look like in their modern look? 🤔
1. The timing of this Tails Tube was obvious they were gonna have to allude to Sonic Superstars in someway. And since it’s the modern cast, this implies Sonic Superstars already happened in their perspective. So it makes sense they’d leave it at the end. Also Amy says “I wonder if we can invite…”. She’s probably teasing becoming friends with Trip. Which I’m wondering if it’s a character we already know too. Hence the helmet. Or they’re just keeping it a secret that Trip is gonna be their friend if it wasn’t already super obvious.
2. Knuckles says Mighty and Ray are like Sonic and Tails. Funny he notices since in SEGASonic Arcade, they look more like Tails and Knuckles if they looked more like Sonic (the eyes and shoes used to be just like Sonic’s)
For that reason, Mighty was just an altered sprite of Sonic in Knuckles Chaotix’. I think recently they’re grouping them together since Mighty isn’t with the Chaotix and was missing along with Ray as Ray was only ever in the only other game Mighty was in and it would be easy to just make them another Sonic and Tails.
3. Of course they’re acknowledging their existence. They were acknowledged since Generations. Mania exists because of Generations and also connected to Forces, and they’re in Mania too.
The classic and modern series are doing their own things but it’s the same continuity.
4. It’s odd that Fang is the real name since it’s more of an alias originally. But it’s also his Japanese name so I guess that makes sense that his localized name is just made up stuff. Especially since recently fans found out he wasn’t even a weasel. People thought he was a wolf of sorts in Japanese but he was an animals that wasn’t commonly known. This retcon is clearly a response to that in a way to get the whole fanbase up to speed.
Also, it’s kinda gaslighty to have Amy point out it used to be “The Sniper” instead of “The Hunter” and then say she didn’t mind the change cuz Sniper was too violent. I’m sure it works for most people because most people also don’t think the change is a big deal. But it’s an odd tactic to make sure people don’t try to fight it. Since it’s a little too late to worry about whether or not he had a gun. I mean they started talking about it as thought they were talking about a fictional character when they should have been talking about someone they know changing their title for some reason. Like “He ditched his pop gun (a reference to the less violent weapon he has in Fighters) for other methods of fighting.” Idk. lol
I never thought Fang is a Jerboa!
Well-- if it helps, Jerboa is "jumping rat" in Japanese and so he was drawn as a rat who is really good at jumping.
Kind of like Sonic is only a hedgehog because in Japanese "hedgehog" is "spiky mouse" and they wanted him to be a Mickey Mouse with attitude. And Knuckles especially doesn't look like an echidna, but in Japanese "echidna" is just "spiky mole" and so they just drew him as a mole.

Sega release a manga prequel of Sonic Superstars and it did explain why Nack change his identity to Fang the Hunter
Since the Classics were referred to as past versions in the last Tailstube, not surprised some of the characters from the era are being highlighted here. (I don't think it'll mean them showing up [physically] in Modern though; just that they still exist somewhere.)
6:15 Likely referring to Trip since they were talking about Superstars. (Besides Amy being confirmed in an article that she'll have a scene with Trip, some have speculated if she's an unlockable.)

I was sure that Generations caused a split timeline, kinda like Ocarina of Time. I figured that's why Modern didn't remember the Phantom Ruby in Forces when Classic saw it in Mania. It also explains why CS is "from another dimension" in Forces.
Unfortunately, decomfirming the split timeline creates more potholes than it fixes...
Canonically, SEGA of Japan and Sonic Team don't call Fang, Bean and Bark "The Hooligans" or "Team Hooligans." Ian Flynn confirmed that Sonic Team banned him and IDW from calling them The Hooligans as that's not an official Sonic Team term for their 3 game characters, but a defunct Archie Comics terminology.

@@loiiysailor1177 Although they cannot use that name it does not mean that they cannot be a team, in fact in IDW it has already been shown that they are, although they called them Fang's gang or something like that (I don't remember the exact name), and IDW is supposed to be canon, therefore it is not impossible that we will see them together in the future in other media.

A Jerboa is like a kangaroo rat. I don’t mind them using lesser known animals but what’ wrong with weasels that they had to retcon it. Even the characters are confused by this retcon.
The person who first made the character made him as a Jerboa or jumping mouse and wanted to name him Knack so that you would have Knuckles and Knack to fight Sonic and Tails. But the higher ups thought Knack was too similar to Knuckles and so did a contest in Japan to give him a new name and "Fang the Sniper" won the contest. Furthermore, instead of being acknowledged as a Jerboa the Japanese version made him a half-wolf half-rat. For some reason when the American team made the box text and game manual for Triple Trouble they went back to his original name but spelled it "Nack" and then decided he was a weasel. The European version called him *Jet*. The other two games he appeared in, even when localized to America, called him Fang because there was in-game text. So the prevelance of the Nack name or that he is a weasel is purely because of the Archie comics and nothing else.
@@TheHobgoblyn So much work for a single character. I have heard about the wolf-rat hybrid thing which really confused me a bit, Knuckles even thought he was a “wolf thing” in this segment. I guess the reason for him being a Jerboa now makes sense even if he doesn’t exactly resemble one design wise.
I’ve been saying this for the longest.
If SEGA/Sonic Team are going to continue to acknowledge characters like Mighty, Ray and Fang despite their disappearance, why not just make them canon to the modern games? It blows my mind to see them acknowledge the fact that these characters still exist till this day knowing how confusing the lore and the timeline can be in the game canon. It’s like they’re trying make everything make sense now even though it’s still kinda confusing.
I'm sure the reason is similar to why they've only recently made Amy into a main playable character or even how Fang is finally back in a game
Generally, they didn't know what to really do. Especially when the "WE WANT ONLY SONIC PLAY" being so strong after Unleashed. Bring back any of them and suffer the wrath of the increasingly confused mob? Or don't and suffer the wrath of the increasingly confused mob by screwing it up again?

Honestly, this just pisses me off regarding the Classic and Modern separation mandates even further. If they're not separate dimensions and are the same timeline, LET THE CLASSIC CHARACTERS APPEAR IN THE MODERN GAMES AND COMICS!
