I'll be honest, I think lots of people are asking to make the mutual respect too obvious. Aside from the one line in SA2s final battle, Sonic and Shadow don't talk about their respect for each other. They show their respect by actions more than words
A missed opportunity on the compliment segment in that Sonic could've said to Shadow that he thought he died after defeating the Finalhazard together, and is relieved to see that he's still alive.
Wheres the compliment???

When Tails said he knew a lot of hedgehogs I was hoping Amy and Sliver would show up too.
It's a segment, so it might happen. I wanted the exact same thing. Also, during this, Shadow says he feels repulsed when Sonic is near him (in character). Does this mean he dislikes him or just is really annoyed with him?
We have now officially had all 3 game Sonic voices also voice Shadow. lol
Kirk Thornton actually did a pretty good Shadow voice in this for about 65% of this.
He’s actually not a bad Shadow voice imo

Tails, some of your words at the beginning are only helping the Sonic X Shadow Generations jokes. Please watch what you say. Certain people will explode.
Also I haven't seen the end of Sonic Prime, but so far even if people call it mid or bad, I'll be happy to see Sonic and Shadow working together in an isolated incident. The clips I've seen so far paint a dynamic between them that I can really get behind.

Whatever happened to Sonic and Shadow’s mutual respect those where the days….
Ian Flynn spoke about that on a recent BumbleKast episode and he pretty much confirmed that the characterization that Shadow had from SA2 to 06 we’ll never see again. It just seems like this is what SEGA wants for him and his dynamic with Sonic and that sucks. If I had to guess it’s probably because SEGA thinks this kind of dynamic is what people, especially younger ones, gravitate towards nowadays.

Shadow was a great character with an arc in the past. Now, he just a grumpy edgy.

When we get closer to release date, I wouldn't surprised if we do get Silver eventually to promote "Sonic X Shadow Generations". Play around with his and Shadow's relationship a bit.
Trust me, I NEVER underestimate the fandom... not after the incident of 2004.

Yeah I mean at this point Sega is only considering 2 things with Shadow’s character: being edgy for the sake of being edgy, and being Sonic’s rival. They kinda just gave up on Shadow’s character after 06 and it’s such a sad outcome. It’s clear Ian Flynn and the crew are trying their best to make Shadow a likable character again, and hopefully one day Sega will let him cook more, but for now we kinda just get stuck with what we got in this TailsTube: a Shadow that’s kinda just ok as a character (imo at least)
This a tails tube like some of y’all really need to grow tf up you can’t even read the comments to this because of UA-cam kids and you worried about a fictional talking hedgehog being edgy he was always like this
@goddessyamato5238 Respectfully, I disagree. Shadow hasn’t always been this way. In games like SA2, Heroes, and 06, Shadow showed a wide range of emotions, was willing to work with others, showed kindness and compassion to others, and had genuine respect for Sonic and the others. Now he rarely shows any emotion, seemingly hates working with others (though the IDW comics and Sonic Prime have been better with that), has an extreme ego/superiority complex, and doesn’t really show any sort of respect, compassion, and heroic attitude anymore. He’s still a cool character and I’ll always like him, but he’s definitely not the Shadow he was in the past. But let’s please have a little more respect for people and their opinions/feelings, ok?
Sega himself confirmed Shadow was not a edgy like this in the past and literaly the entire fandom agree that he too edgy now 😑
He literaly smile in Battle, 006, Heroes and other game, more proof that he wasn't edgy like this in the past.

@orlandogarcia7084 with all due respect, I was never complaining, nor was I complaining about the video. The video is fine. Rather, I was merely critiquing and sharing my thoughts about the characterization and direction of a character I and many other Sonic fans hold dear. Is it the most important thing in the world? Of course not. But I believe that we as fans of the series have the right to feel a bit sad that one of if not the most beloved character in the series has gotten a significant downgrade in terms of characterization and writing.

Im a SA2 guy and honestly...i just don't like Shadow overall. And it never seemed like Sega really knew what to do with him without just making him into the hedgehog version of Wolverine. Because he sucks as a rival and he's worse as a friend, so he just exists and it always seems like he's better off doing his own thing and more or less indirectly interacting with sonic.

I got nothing to say about this episode (or this reaction). This episode and the Christmas special were... pretty lackluster.
I will say this though. I hope Fake Emeralds pop up in the third movie. I'm sure Chaos Control will.
I already don't like this characterization of Shadow. But I really don't like that they're retroactively changing Sonic's character to hate Shadow now.
Honestly that’s the other part that makes this current writing for both of them annoying that’s I don’t see many talk about. Like of course they’ve never been buddy buddy and I don’t think anyone is asking for Shadow to be Sonic’s new Tails but they LITERALLY settled their differences IN SA2 where Shadow debuted and since then have been on generally good terms and have had healthy competition, rivalry, and respect for each other. That’s the problem with the current iteration, it just feels forced, retconned, and overly aggressive on both ends for the sake of it.

@@59rlmccormack I feel like we, especially older fans have been asking that for a good while now and SEGA has basically given us the middle finger 😂. This is just the standard now and we have to deal with it or get lost, unfortunately.
@@HouseHawk62 They cut it out with the two worlds canon after touting it for a full decade. If we screamed loud enough, they'll likely fix Shadow.

I get the issue with current Shadow.. I do but like tbh its not like Sonic and Shadow's relationship started out very well, its not like say Knuckles where the two have been buddies since the Classic Days, I guess the overall thing is like Shadow himself said; "They're Polar Opposites" I mean think about it this way: of all the main cast.. Shadow is the one Sonic butts heads with the most in a moreso aggressive way compared to say Knuckles or anyway else, simply because they don't view things the same way.

Worst episode ever ( i talk about this Tailstube episode)
It's was just a big joke from the begining to the end.
If you can't make greats episodes like the first season Sega, just don't made it.
The only good episode from this season is the classic, Christmas was mid, everybody was rude in this episode and this one is just terrible.
And seriously, stop those jokes with Sonic and Shadow please, we already have it in the lego episode.
