Sonic's World was pretty much always unnamed in the Japanese/game continuity I think, but sometimes called Earth like in SA2. (Though I heard that might be a mistranslation or changed localization of just "the planet.") Mobius really is only the 90s American side of things where they changed everything like Eggman's name to Robotnik or that Sonic used to be brown and that Mobius is a future Earth and all that weird stuff. Europe I'm not so sure, but they also had their own weird canon. But the original Japanese and Game canon according to Yuji Naka it was always a sorta fictional version of Earth. Sonic lived on Christmas Island and when Eggman invaded they started fighting. Sonic 1 taking place on South Island where the Emeralds rested according to Yuji Naka wasn't the first time they fought, that was just the first time Eggman went after the Chaos Emeralds. Eggman's always after sources of immense power, usually the Emeralds, but Sonic 1 on South Island was the first time Sonic and Eggman encountered the Emeralds. Also according to Naka Sonic and Eggman started their conflicts on the small islands like Christmas Island, South Island, Westside Island, and Angel Island before their battles move over to the main continents where the other humans live like in Adventure 1. Sonic X had Sonic come from another dimension and the Paramount movie universe had Sonic be an alien, and it seems from 2010 onward Iizuka retconned what Naka established in the games and that there are two planets, anthro and human. I don't know if this little UA-cam video will apply to future games but at least for this video they seem to have acknowledged Yuji Naka's original idea of anthro people living on small islands and humans living in the big countries of "Sonic's World" (A thing to mention though is that this IS a UA-cam video explaining to many people who can watch it what Sonic's world is like, a lot people will watch it and it will be more accessible than a game, so it'd actually be kinda weird if they don't carry this bit of trivia they are sharing with the whole of ANYONE who can watch UA-cam into the games.)
"Sonic was originally brown" is actually _from_ the European canon. It's part of the backstory in the comics published by the UK-based Fleetway Comics.

Last year Ian Flynn was even quoted saying "Don’t worry about two-worlds anymore" so this must be what it was building up to.

Interestingly, I recall in a VG magazine (presumably GamePro) published way back around in '92-'93 which stated that Amy "..could be Sonic's long lost sister?" in the article regarding the upcoming Sonic CD. What's also more thought-provoking is that a side game was being produced at the time called "Sister Sonic" which would explore the adventures of a "Lost Sibling" that Sonic never knew he had. The game never reached release, and has its own history if ya look it up, but still, the concept that Sonic & Amy would have something a lot more in common doesn't seem that far fetched. 😉

Hope you all know that video was full of info for sonic frontiers. The girl who sticks out from the other human, them talking about the Emeralds and super sonic, and Amy rose. What I got is that girl is involved with sonic in the game a like chip, we get to hunt the emeralds or they are a part of the story and we get to use super sonic in the open world since sonic can fly, and we know Amy was in the trailer for sonic frontiers
I feel like people mentioned nothing about the super tails in sonic and his FLICKY ARMY OF DEATH! Yeah I had to do it, but it does make me wonder if it is in the actual lore or not, since the video be only stating that Sonic is the one who can be super and not stating anything else but him. Quite confusing a bit. :/
It's an pretty cool take of Tails doing some of this type of stuff, though for some reason, I'm guessing because of the algorithm (maybe?) ended up auto marking their video as "made for kids" despite having games like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic 06, etc that were made for players older than the age of ten (and unofficially, below 17/Mature rating) not sure what the exact cause is, though I do hope the channel's team takes notice of this, unless they intentionally did this specific filtering because of certain kinds of people.
I know Sonic X isn't canon. But during the SA2 Arc when Eggman discover that they are in earth. He then saids "I was born in this world" so... I was like wait WTF...
West side island came first. It first appeared in sonic 2, which tails first appeared also in sonic 2. Also, I don't know where you get that information that tails is from "cocoa island"? I did my research where tails is from, and it said "west side island". The cocoa island is also known as "tails island" and it said that tails lived in that island for a short period of time. Not he was originally from that island, but he one's lived there.
It really caught my attention how they explained the world of Sonic. It’s still confusing in a way of how they try to tie in the distance between the human characters and the anthro animal characters either in one world or in two separate worlds. And I will admit that the way they explain the origins in the Sonic Movie or Sonic X about Sonic coming from his own world of anthro characters would’ve made more sense had it been put in the game canon. At the same IDK the way they explain things now in days is complicated.
The original creators of Sonic, like the guys who MADE Sonic, like Yuji Naka, and Naoto Oshima, always imagined Sonic coming from Christmas Island, Eggman comes from the mainland to invade, they fight, their fights go to other small islands, then eventually make their way to the continents where Eggman came from. I don't see what's so confusing about it, this is how the original creators always imagined Sonic's world was. I think 2 worlds makes things more complicated than one world.
@@devanarcher7054 I understand that, what I’m trying to say is that the confusing part about it is how they try to explain it in recent years with parts of the Sonic lore starting to make less sense regarding the two worlds story and due to the mandates. And also how people in the community would interpret it…If that makes sense. Whether it’s all in one world or two separate worlds, they should have a better way of explaining it which is why I brought up the origins from the Sonic Movie and Sonic X.
@@myleskrisg I'm not sure what you mean, but it's pretty evident just from the games itself. Sonic 1 takes place on South Island, 2 on Westside Island, 3&Knuckles on Angel Island. But Adventure is the first game that takes place on the mainland instead of an island and that's where humans live.

Tails just completely shat on Iizuka
What’s wild is that Unleashed is the last game with Humans in it….if we are talking Canon Sonic Lore but if we involve the Story Book Games???? Nah especially Black Knight….
Does this mean Dadonpa and Tangle are canon?
Why does Sonic drive in racing games? Well if you want Mario and DK to run too, good luck!
*Sad Manic the Hedgehog noise*
It's an pretty cool take of Tails doing some of this type of stuff, though for some reason, I'm guessing because of the algorithm (maybe?) ended up auto marking their video as "made for kids" despite having games like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic 06, etc that were made for players older than the age of ten (and unofficially, below 17/Mature rating) not sure what the exact cause is, though I do hope the channel's team takes notice of this, unless they intentionally did this specific filtering because of certain kinds of people.
Expected a long time no see
I know Sonic X isn't canon. But during the SA2 Arc when Eggman discover that they are in earth. He then saids "I was born in this world" so... I was like wait WTF...
Great video!
Sooo this is different from Tails' Channel?
UwU
It's...its called mobius....it always has been always will be
Tails is aware he has used chaos emerald before. Right?
Tails is now making his own UA-cam videos what’s next Rouge having a onlyfans?
Oof, let's not go giving them ideas now
@@MannyUzuki It’s funny when you think of the idea of that cause I can see a bunch of Sonic fans wanting to see that
Oh no...
Shadow in the background holding a gun readying to kill someone
Oh damn it.😂
Tails was actually originally from Cocoa Island.
@@johnmyers4103 Tails lived at Cocoa Island before he migrated to West Side Island I thought. Look at the Japanese manual of Tails Adventure.
The English manual is a different story from the Japanese manual
Yea that’s what I mean, he lived there before he met Sonic.
But Adventure is the first game that takes place on the mainland instead of an island and that's where humans live.
was "roger craig smith" birthplace "anaheim california" aka orange county california or "st joseph michigan" which is near "grand rapids michigan"? im curious to know! no matter if im "friends" or "enemies" with him or with "rae carruth" former nfl wide receiver?
I think sonic is in seaside hill
Well isnt sonic and shadow kind of related? Or am I remembering wrongm
No. They're not related.
Ian Flynn takeover.
Honestly I miss the #1 fan amy where she chased sonic a bit, now shes just kinda bland right? She lost her personality.
She didn’t lose her personality
React to the final sonic movie 2 trailer
I'm genuinely ecstatic that they're mentioning that humans are canon
I kinda wish that they just stuck with the Two Worlds Canon. Now, things just make little or no sense anymore now...
They made even less sense with the two worlds explanation. Especially when you take the adventure games into consideration.
@@AAhmou I disagree. With the Two Worlds, it explained alot of oddities and inconsistencies the series had, especially the disconnect between the Classic & Color Eras and the Adventure Era. Like the look of Sonic's world changing every other game from realistic looking environments to surreal and cartoonish ones. Or how in some games we see human inhabitants but no "Mobians", but in others we see Mobians, but no humans. Plus more.
*JUST LIKE BOMBERMAN!!!! :D*
