removing quicksave from fallout is the true survival mode
Yeah this mode would be SO much better if you didn’t have to worry about the game crashing. I still only play on survival tho
@@dathunderman4 the crashing comes from the gun debris option . Just turn it off . Never crashed since on pc .
Love survival mode but had to download a mod to be able to save couldn’t do it without lol
@@harleyekstein5474 dude just last night I was doing the reunion quest on survival … got to the Kellog fight … used a terminal and got stuck in a loop because nick valentine was by the wall … over an hour of progress lost 🤦♂️😒 .. does that mod disable achievements?

I know it's not for everyone, but Survival is the only way to play F4. It's so much more emersive.

oh I loved loved the fallout series, I think they did a pretty good job capturing the whole fallout feel and included a little of everything from all of the fallout games,, too bad you didnt like it :(
I also started my survival playthrough and my most stressful moment was getting to and escaping from virgils cave. There are no unowned beds in the glowing sea. My closest bed was in the marina camp I owned. I did it first try but their was a rad scorpion on my ass the whole time.
That is what makes the Brotherhood so damn useful, being able to pop smoke and call in a vertibird. Get from A to wherever in the glowing sea without too much trouble.
There’s a couple spots. The best are several full beds in Sentinel Site. And some sleeping bags in the parking structure near the Super Duper.
I’d recommend Sentinel Site. If you follow the Southern Map edge, from the river by Somerville Place, you’ll find it easily. And not too many enemies, either. The barracks is on the lowest level.
last time I played Fallout 4....I know where the Helmet for the first power armor went. The one in my game was a frame and the helmet....I was like "are you kidding me?"
The meat book also allows you to harvest mirelurk meat from the hatchlings. Normally you don't get any from them
I have a lot of hours in this game but I’ve never played beyond choosing a faction.
I finished once... All the other playthrough i just got to meet a faction (usually the railroad or bos) then stopped
I was going to play survival but with a mod that supposedly made it more realistic or something, but those are all broken now. Yippee. So likely a regular play through but instead going to finish the few achievements I somehow never did
I don't like survival just for 1 thing... I hate the base game settlements and building system and in survival I'm basically forced to use it. The increased damage recieved and dealt is good tho so i just play hard/very hard mode and mod the damage values
Survival is a lot easier than very hard. Some mods disable the adrenaline perk.
Walking from Sanctuary to Diamond City takes about the same from Balmora to Caldera. So no big deal for us old creepy dudes.
After years of playing i finally did a playthrough in survival and i have to say, its really a lot easier than very hard. Its just 1000 times more annoying and full of inconveniences, but the 3x damage if you know the game is just too much, even in the early game

i finally tried to play fallout 4 properly as utlrawide support is playable, played survivor mode, 2 times game crashed where i lost hours of gameplay and uninstalled

Play survival with mods for 1x damage, fast travel to established settlements, and a make sleep bag grenade. It’s perfect for controller on ps5 like this.
That’s an insane build for survival
When I play survival, I take the aquaboy perks so I can swim submerged and I use that for travelling without worries. I also get all the bases I can get for beds.
My *_TOP TIPS_* (especially _Survival Mode_ )--->
--> _Codsworth_ is available as a companion without first needing to free *Preston.* Simply enter _Concord_ far enough that Preston and the Raiders start fighting, return to Sanctuary, and he can be hired. Taking him along to free *Preston* can give some _affinity boosts._ _Codsworth_ will give you a Purified Water on a continual basis just by talking with him, making him a solid companion for _Survival Players._
--> *_Need Caps?_* Stop at nearby *Abernathy Farm,* under the Power Pylon. Grab the 9 Melons, then speak with the daughter _Lucy._ Keep picking the top dialogue choice about caps as currency. This will trigger an Easy speech check, and she will offer to buy Melons for 5 caps instead of 3. She can buy every Melon you have, _on an ongoing basis,_ which can be lucrative if you turn Sanctuary into a Melon farm. However, if you make the Farm a settlement, she *stops* buying them.
--> *_Survival Players,_* besides planting *Tato,* *Mutfruit* and *Corn* for _Adhesive,_ plant *Razorgrain.* Cook *1 Razorgrain /1 Dirty Water* to make rad-free _Noodle Cups._ They lower thirst one level, hunger half a level, _yet weighs the same as Water!_ Check wandering vendor _Trashcan Carla_ and _Trudy at Drumlin Diner,_ South of Concord. Or find randomly as loot.
--> *_Weapon and Armor modifications_* can be _stripped and swapped_ onto your better gear. You can _remove armor mods_ for free, but you will have to _build a new gun mod_ from components. Even without Gun Nut, you can build the base level gun mod, which will put the previously attached modification into your inventory, and put onto your new hotness.
--> _Survival Players_ should build *15 more water supply than they have settlers,* minimum. This will _accumulate_ extra water from the Workshop *every day,* so take it out store it separately in another container. New Purified Water will be added every day *_if_* there’s little to no water already in the workshop. If you build a large enough water purification operation, a huge amount can get added daily. Use this for your travels, or stockpile, and sell the surplus.
--> _Survival Mode_ features *Diseases,* acquired numerous ways. You can take *Antibiotics,* visit a *Doctor,* or *Wait* until they go away eventually. Each disease has _different durations,_ lasting from *2-7 days.* The most debilitating are _Weakness_ (receive +20% damage), and _Infection_ (take damage over time, though it won’t kill you, will leave you with a sliver of health). These two diseases take *2.5 days* to go away. Find something safe to do, like decorating Sanctuary, or sleep it off. Sleeping causes a _disease check,_ so you might get sick again, but anything is better than Weakness or Infection. *Early game,* when resources are tight, you might be better off saving Antibiotics just in case for the debilitating diseases, and living with the others until they go away.
-->Want to play _Survival Mode,_ but aren’t sure what starting SPECIAL to use? I’ve found it’s worth going for strong combat skills first, and then flesh out your build.
*Melee Builds,* get _Rooted_ (STR9) and _Blitz_ (AGI9) immediately. *9,1,4,3,1,9,1* _(Book END)._
*VATS Guns,* get _Penetrator_ (PER9) and _Concentrated Fire_ (PER10). *1,9,3,3,3,7,2* _(Book AGI)._ You’ll get the *Perception Bobblehead* when you free Preston, so have a point saved, and put into Concentrated Fire mid-rescue.
--> _Survival Mode_ players should seriously consider _not_ using Power Armor. _Swimming_ is Survival’s Fast Travel. You’ll get around much faster and safer. *_Aquaboy/girl perk_* will save you a ton of time! Without spoiling, the game gives you a quick means of crossing the map as you do the main story, if you dabble with the *Brotherhood of Steel.*
--> _New Players:_ *Idiot Savant* isn’t a good choice for first timers. Enemies scale with you. You need to have good gear to survive, and easy and fast XP can leave you without enough time to explore and find good gear before the bad guys start hitting even harder. *You’ll get plenty of levels, faster than you think, even at 1 INT.* Growing powerful isn’t only a matter of levels. *You’ll be stronger if you have great gear when you pop your next level.* Take it easy, don’t rush, go slow, and you’ll be better for it.
--> _Pass every speech check_ with *11 CHR,* 100%! Low CHR builds, don’t fret: assemble a 3-piece _CHR set of clothes._ *Hat/glasses/suit,* for _+4._ Most *Alcohol* adds _+1._ Find *Daytripper* _+3._ Better yet, craft *Grape Mentats* at a Chemistry Station _+5._ There’s other ways, but with these, that’s a +13 buff already.
*Bonus!* Your companion will come to your side and stay there if you crouch. And if *Dogmeat* only carries _25_ units, put a *bandana,* *welding goggles* or *dog armor,* and it’ll bump it up to _150!_

im currently playing survival right now. man its hassle and half hiking your feeble ass anywhere and getting food and wasting your inventory weight on that food plus ammo weighs alot but i guess i should still be happy since you still carry 3x more then an average person. At least survival isnt going full realistic and making you only carry the 60 lbs real soldiers carry with them. That wouldve ended my life

The problem I have with survival mode is that no matter what perk you take it never reduces the debuff amount you receive or extent the time between debuffs taking effect
I enjoy Skyrim survival, but I got the Namira ring, which I find useful to fight off hunger after killing humanoid enemies by eating them. Fallout 4 survival can't do that. Got to rely on real survival.
You can take the cannibal perk at 8(?) endurance and live off humans, ghouls and super mutants but it has some weird addiction mechanic that while pretty cool does tend to be somewhat annoying to deal with.

1 Endurance on survival? i knew you were a mad man but this is loopy levels of crazy
It doesn't really help to have more endurance in my experience. When you take endurance at any point as a perk it updates as if you had always had that much. For that reason its kinda pointless to have high endurance early on(unless you're going for a specific endurance dependant build of course)
The reason it doesn't help is because everything is so viscious in survival mode that it's going to take a lot of levels and probably some decent armor before those extra HP actually translate to surviving any extra hits or hits from harder weapons.
You're pretty much 1 shot to most high damage weapons for most of the game (without power armor or other build-specific defenses) so unless I need a perk, I just wait until im like level 50 and then DUMP points into endurance. That applies to both standard and survival for me.
@@IzPrebuilt that makes perfect sense, i played a bunch of survival and if i remember correctly. dumping into endurance never really did feel like it helped much early

Endurance helps tremendously with traversing an open world, bc it determines sprint AP cost.
I play no-vats, no power armour survival, It’s very satisfying once you’re on your feet. Early game is rough though.
2 duffel bags in sanctuary, on the roof with the fallen tree and at the foot of the minute man statue. Run south from sanctuary to the water tower for more purified water. Several cans around the base and a med box.
FINALLY. A UA-camr who pronounces Concord correctly. As a New Englander, a bit of me dies inside when people say "Con-Kord" like the airplane. It's "Cahn-Kerd" just like they say in the game. Lovely :)
