- Sigma have made a really beautiful 50mm lens that is surprisingly compact while delivering F1.2 wide open. This is a stunning 50mm lens for your E-Mount or L-Mount full frame camera. How much of a difference does F1.2 make to your photography, and what’s the downside to having such a fast lens in the bag?

Yes all the stills on that video are on the 50mm F1.2 :)
7:30 "F2 and F1.2 are long way apart" 😂 actually, it is exactly 1.5 stops of light difference. To put this difference in perspective: the difference is more or less as shooting with, say, an F2 lens on a FF camera and a micro 4/3 camera, both noise performance and DoF.
In goog old film photography time F1.2 lenses were made for soft lady, female portraiture. Isn't this lens at f1.2 expected to be a bit soft because of the reason mentioned above?
Not for the ART series - nothing even remotely soft about it. I think a glimmer glass is the modern alternative :)
