Why are all these people criticizing this kid for anything? I'm 14, I've been playing for 7-8 years and can't compare to this kid. He is a legend. Pretty good is an understatement. His talent knows no bounds
Unbelievable skill for an 8 year old! THere were a few spots where you could've used more bow, or played at a different position to make it easier, but that playing at 8... so hard to achieve... I hope you are continuing to play.
Unfortunately all the smaller versions of the violin, viola and cello for the kids sound that horrible. It seems that until they are big enough to play the full sized instruments, the sound will always be hideous.
Sometimes having a bad cello makes you more masterful. For example, learning to sound good with a good, easy to play cello, does not give you as much experience as playing with a worse cello and making it sound like a great cello!
Actually, the I-V-I chord ritual is sometimes used with young student performers to remind them to bow. The pianist is cueing him to take a bow as the audience applauds.
Wow!! Amazing! And about the comments that it would be played too fast... From the point of view of a professional musician (no, I'm not a cellist) who doesn't know this piece, it doesn't sound like he's playing it too fast to me. Yes, it's fast, but it sounds musical, technically very very good, and the more melodic sections do not sound rushed at all! Fantastic job!! Keep up the great work. I will let my 6 y.o. son who plays cello listen to this in the morning! He will love it!!!
No, this is so sick. It is comments like this that made me so angry. Maybe he is just doing it for fun? I HATE IT WHEN people THINK that when you are good it njust MEANS THAT you are forced into it. MAYBE HE PRACTICED on his own? You should be ASHAMED of yourself? Why am I using annoying caps? Because I'm frekin' mad!!!!!
Your not supposed to LOOK like you're enjoying it. He is playing a piece that usually isn't played at his age + the amount of concentration that you have to put into the piece to play the notes in tune is difficult itself. He may like playing the cello, except this peice is challenging for him.Think before you judge and don't assume he was forced into it.
That kid is amazing these are the thing i know how to play tuba, piano, clarinet, handchimes and im only in 6th grade and when i play i can feel like the music is ALIVE !!!
@kukukachu16 I played cello coming up in school all the way until graduation and I must say at times it can be very hard to tune your as a student when there is a lot of background noise.
Spiccato is much easier to learn on a more responsive cello and bow. This is an appropriate performance for this age and quality instrument. Bravo to this young man and his teacher!
Most people who don't know music can't appreciate talent. he's great, and lol just because someone like YoYo Ma was freaking amazing at this point doesn't mean this isn't amazing. A whole bunch of people are like "these kids can't even play that well," Let me hear what you were doing at eight. Probably still peeing yourself. Great Job(: but something about that scratchy sound...
The bridge may be a bit too low. His left hand development is excellent. His right hand needs to "catch up" and it will, in time. There's nothing unusual for a young cellist to develop some skills in advance of others.
joshypooz: Eight years old!! What did you expect? How old are you? Have you posted something? 123souldedout321; Thanks to your foul mouth, I can't show this to my child. Did you think how your comment made this cellist feel?
Awesome playing! I'm not sure about David Popper but this isn't how I remember Tarentella going. It was supposed to scare away witches FYI. So no Major Keys. This kid rocks though!
I am a cellist and believe me this kid is really good! But his teacher should not have him on such advanced pieces yet. At his age it is the best time to learn how to have a good tone. Also just because he can play a piece doesn't mean he is a prodigy. How long has been playing it? hmm?
I just want you guys that it is skill, how you look, and how you sound. I'm not hating on him just because his cello, but his bow angle can improve. Just saying nobodies perfect.
@@seandaly2211 That is not at all what contact point is... Contact point is where you place your bow. I did notice what Aaron was saying too, since his bow wasn't close enough to the bridge during his thumb position parts. The higher up your fingers on the finger board, the closer to the bridge the bow should be. It still sounded alright, but it just could've sounded better with a little adjustment.

both cellist and pianist are awesome
Man, his string control is amazing!!! :)
playing w/ thumb positions is frustrating in the first years playing cello. well, he's just 8-year-old kid, and he crushed it! so mind-boggling!
Unbelievable skill for an 8 year old! THere were a few spots where you could've used more bow, or played at a different position to make it easier, but that playing at 8... so hard to achieve... I hope you are continuing to play.
oh my goodness. so fast. can't wait til he gets a new cello that's better quality! he's amazing. oh my lord. i play too. this kids pretty dang good.
So cute ... I loved it. He's amazing. He'll before a soloist with the big orchestras in no time. Great job!
the kid on the far left is like "what the fuck ever" LOL
Time for his parents to invest in a better cello. He's really good. But his instrument sounds terrible.
Agreed

Yes, that´s Right
Book 8 Suzuki. Wow! I played faure elegie when I was twelve in book 8, and I later played that. Great job!
He’s good, but I’ve never heard a cello sound like a kazoo before
I love watching these kids that can play so good.
as a cellist, i cannot believe that an eight year old can play such a demanding piece that i cant even play if i tried.
Bravo!! I appreciate the clapping ritual of the accompanist, playing random chords, it makes the applause even more intense! ;)
Actually, the I-V-I chord ritual is sometimes used with young student performers to remind them to bow. The pianist is cueing him to take a bow as the audience applauds.
Im 17 and have been playing cello as long as he's been alive and I cant even play this...
Congratulations to the next great artist!! We are all looking forward to your next musical endeavors!

It's obvious that this kid is going to do something amazing!
This is great! I hope he keeps playing. He will be great some day.
Good job!! you deserve a better cello!
oh yeah? well when i was eight, i could play twinkle twinkle little star! so there.
The fact that he can do this is pretty ridiculous regardless of what the age even is. Killer shifts.
He is Amazing! Bravo!
Congratulations to the young cellist!
he is great i am 17 and i playing it i can't say more... just i am soo sad but this won't stop me from playing :)
Omg for the age its terrific
damn. i just started playing this and i'm 16. wowwww. nice job!
I think he is really talented, but teacher wants to go to fast, it s a mistake from my point of view.

face syaing "yeah, shit just got real"
great !!! buy to the child a better cello please !!!
Yeah but that one is okay its epic!
they don't make excellend small cellos, they simply can't produce the rich acoustics that the full size instrument can
Looks like he's enjoying himself... #pushyparenting #doitorelse

Helicopter parenting, you can see by the levels of emotion he's putting in
i wish your parents pushed you to be a non douche

Helena Williams Yo-Yo Ma went to college when he was 7
Amazing performance
I predict that his cello sounded very good. ☺ 😀 👏 👏 🎶 🎼
I Start Playing at 8... Good job, keep going!
Bruh when I was his age I had only just started playing. Also that kid needs a better cello please. He deserves it.

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
holy shit.
Bravo!
Shinie cell- HOLY CRUD HE'S AWESOME!
Very well done! A better bow would be great for this kid.
Study on the spicatto at the end (verry difficult in this tempo)

Wow, I'm amazed! I'm 15 and would probably have played a piece like that last year or something? :D
maravilloso!!! :D talentosisimo!
woah that happened before i could blink
wow, very good dubble stops.
I am impressed.
Woah.....
This is amazing! i'm so jealous.. haha(:
He's born with the cello in hand! *-* ;)

Great Job(: but something about that scratchy sound...
Hooray!
I want to play as good as him and I'm in 6th grade :( and he's 8
God loves you

💞
That's no possible! This boy play si good :O

O..O what.....the .....fuck
Wow!! The only thing I would say is to work on keeping contact ooint throughout the entire bowstroke
Get that kid a proper cello! Hes to good for that thing.
gifted child this is not a skills its a pure talent..
The kid is that good, so why does someone have to help him tune up?
And why do you put the tuneup on UA-cam_
what's this kid's name?! i have to remember it! he will become somebody someday! or maybe he is now!
YES HE IS NOW ABOUT MY AGE :D
trollol that postit reads, "Kick ME!" lmao! you know how badly I wanna do that! I bet the kid put it on him. TROLL'D
impresionante cuando la pianista cambia de pagina
Bro wtf 😭 I’m struggling to play this
It was very good, but you should make it more smooth, and you should try to be less jerky in your movements.
It's theadore cleaver!
@Blackmagikartist8 Wonder what it says.

123souldedout321; Thanks to your foul mouth, I can't show this to my child. Did you think how your comment made this cellist feel?
Holly smoke ! How can he memorize all the tunes ? Bravo
@neznayuNikki yet he probably played better than most people at the age of 8...
Awesome playing! I'm not sure about David Popper but this isn't how I remember Tarentella going. It was supposed to scare away witches FYI. So no Major Keys. This kid rocks though!

Ethan Allers I agree! Learn to get an amazing sound. Also, he could’ve been learning this for 3 years, who knows!
It's not always about what position is easiest though :P
vapo toca Muito rápido vapooo
For some reason looks like it fast forward?..
I know, but if you can play it better at an easier and more comfortable position, on the whole (I think) it will help.
nbd cant everyone play popper when their eight?! :o this kid is very advanced and should get a better instrument
why isn't he tuning his instrument??
i think this i fast forward
Right Hand is Very UP
대게섬세하게잘한다
I just want you guys that it is skill, how you look, and how you sound. I'm not hating on him just because his cello, but his bow angle can improve. Just saying nobodies perfect.
135 jealous cellist? yup :)
Whats size this cello?
Looks like a 1/4 size
I think that is a 2/4 cello.
lol 3/4 cello sounds so scratchy he needs to work on his contact point
true but this boy is 8 he's got time to work on it
What's contact point mean?
@@mjcard How much pressure and how precise you are about putting your fingers on the finger board.

Jealousy my friend ..... good luck to you

The cello is so small XD
