Very timely. Thanks. Ordered the 56 inch roller cab earlier this week to take advantage of the recent price drop. Looking forward to your delivery video.

The Icon boxes are starting to grow on me. I ended up buying the US general 56 because it was in stock and I didn’t have time to wait but I may consider one of these in the future.
A lot of great info here. When I got my HF flier with the new Icon storage pricing, my first reaction was I guess reality has set in for HF on the Icon storage. I was looking at them. Very nice but I didn't see the value proposition. Now at least, if I had some room, I might take a look. I have some 7-8 year old US General items. At that time, I didn't know anyone that didn't think those were great value for the money. HF might want to look at some of the Icon tools too. On the pricing and all the discounts you cited. Reminds of of most of the car dealers in the old days, and still some today. We need a Car Max for tools. Here's the price. You want it or not? 😂
Even with the new lower prices on Icon toolboxes it still does not make economic sense for me to buy into this box as I am a retiree and I have a pair of nice US General 44" series 1 boxes. Oh yeah they are nice boxes but I stick with what I have in the US General boxes These boxes might more sense now with the lower prices for a young entry level person just starting out in his career but for me no way
It’s a great value for an entry level tech. Lots of things come down to pricing or ability to get financing so HF will need to get that 0% 36month credit card going or at least let me get another 10% off and 5% rewards. Wait can’t I just get that one best price 😂
If there is a CEO named Eric that does actually call me I’ll let you know. As it stands today I’m 99.999% the only CEO that does call me and will continue to call me is my wife and her name is not Eric🤣🤣
My only complaint about the Icon box is the depth. 25" is very shallow and you lose a lot of space vs the 30" deep boxes. If they actually came out with a 68x30" or 84"x30" like the snap on epiq, then then I would take it a bit more seriously about being compared to snap on, mac, matco and cornwell. I'm sure they are great boxes, I'd have one for home. But I couldn't get by with one at work due to the 25" deep

ClientGraphics.. I hate my Matco toolbox so much that I would (I can't believe I'm saying this) try an Icon toolbox in black.. I would need the 73 inch one with the top box or hutch and two side lockers all keyed the same. I don't need the top cabinets..
It is a stout toolbox i will give them that. I love the us general tool boxes but its apples to oranges when it comes to icon toolboxes. Boxes are very well made. They were heavy duty. I was literally punching them to get a feel of the metal n even my 12 yr old nephew said it was well made lol
The drawers are buttery firm once worked in on the ICON boxes and definitely less bend and flex. All that does come at a cost and isn’t for everyone. I happened to be fortunate enough to get that price adjustment because otherwise this would have been a different video.
Just to clarify it appears that for qualified individuals of the HF credit card the one-time 10% off will be applied to your first purchase and does not count towards the 5% “rewards program” and if you also qualify for and chose the 0% interest financing option you will forfeit the 10% off your first purchase. Purchasing those two tool cabinets which measure 58 inches was $1600 and $960 for a total of $2560. That is a cost of $44.14 per linear inch. The 56-inch box is $2240 [for a savings of $320]. We would sell someone a sewing machine that would use their full credit line and then a few months later they would come back and buy a cabinet for it or other things that cost a lot to buy upfront.
Hey the macsimizer 41" tool cart can be had for roughly $2500 street price and is USA made. So what reason would someone buy a china box?? With everything going on in the world why would you be hustling china scrap?
This was in the works since March and I like Harbor Freight. I was hooked after seeing this box at the SEMAShow in November. There are lots of great options for tool boxes to pick from today and I know ZERO people with this box let alone in green. Hustling, I buy what I want to it’s my money. My kids remember our trips to HF they don’t do tool trucks. Sorry this is the box that will mean the most to myself and my kids.

just curious, did you buy the 36 and side cab because you did not like the drawer configuration of the 56. ive actually been going back and forth between the 36 icon and a macimizer 41 cart. i only have maybe 10 to 15 years left till i retire, and have had the same top and bottom snap on that were new in 1989 i got after diesel school. i just dont want to spend 5 to 15 grand on one of the tool truck boxes....
There are so many options today. Take the 2pc 36” Homak combo below for under $1500. I ultimately went with the 36” because I didn’t need the battery drawer. I’m also planning to swap 2 of the smaller drawers for one bigger making it a 7drawer cart. Stellar pricing when on sale at $1,350.00: homak.com/product/36-rs-pro-combo/
I don’t plan on selling it so resale value is little to no concern for me. I would say the actual market for resell is unknown but we all know used prices are typically less than new.
@@ClientGraphics I buy everything with the mind set of value. I'm not a fortunate teller. It's called an investment and increeses new worth and equity. Times just like now is a prime example as to why it's an intelligent thing to do. It's also logical. All of my mac tools I got are pre owned new. I can sell them for the exact amount of money I got for them. I don't care about what other people buy. I just buy using logic and reason.
@@Crazywaffle5150 pre owned new doesn't make sense bud. People rarely buy used tool truck tools from goobers trying to sell them for top dollar. Just browse eBay and look.
How long for HF to call with an update? I ordered mine on Monday, called the 800 number today and they said they have no information yet on my purchase?
Does your receipt say PRESALE FOR by each of the ICON storage items? If it doesn’t then they range it up wrong and they will never have your information. My info was there within 24-48hrs. They have to do a return and resell it as a presale. Hopefully that’s all that’s needed. Otherwise support need to call your store and see what’s up. 👍🏻
I don’t know or understand why such a small toolbox would cost that much at harbor freight wtf those are snap on prices. $1k for a small harbor freight toolbox the world is turning upside down.
Also it originally was going to be put in a spot where only a 36” would go. Then I really wanted a 36” 8 drawer service cart. Then thought add a side cabinet to my 5 drawer service cart... Then I thought 36” 8 drawer with side cabinet. Future growth would be Rapidbox up top and another side cabinet. I can still manage to move it myself and it won’t be a total pain if we every move. It still won’t be easy as the thing weights a lot. Really just wanted a slightly different configuration from everyone else but still have it very functional
You would get 20% off with one coupon and then you could get 10% off your first purchase or the remaining balance which isn’t quite like a flat 30% off but it is more than just 20%. It’s like how Kohl’s stacks discounts.
Okay so for the 73" with hutch , locker and steel top you add it up , take of 20% ... then you take 10% off that total ? So it would be around $4895 for all that. That's not too bad honestly ..
I'm looking to reduce floor space taken up by my Cornwell box. Damn thing is 67Wx47Hx30D. By no means huge but, it's in a small hole, it's getting old, parts are getting hard to find, and I need to fit an air compressor in that hole as well. I went and looked at the Icon today just to get an idea Today and tomorrow (7/26/2020-7/27/2020) they're running 25% off so, the 56" roll cab plus stainless top plus hutch would cost me about $3,000 with free delivery. Available colors are the traditional red or black, and they have blue and that sick as tits green. The dude at the store said that everybody working at his store are trying to convince corporate to release an all black version as well as FDE (Iraqi desert tan) version. I looked at the picture on the side of the display model and I says "Dude, you see the green with black trim? Reverse that shit. Get those Grave Digger colors goin on. But, make it flat black instead of gloss because gloss black is impossible to keep clean and looks like shit." I'm debating on it. I've already owned 7 toolboxes and 4 service carts since I was a little kid and got my first old school Craftsman steel throw box. I don't wanna buy another Goddamn toolbox. Besides, it's Chinamese Harbor Freight shit. They'll probably recall it. And give it 10 years, they'll discontinue the product line. 5 years after that, they'll stop selling replacement parts. Then you're screwed. He already said they're talking about discontinuing U.S. General. Which sucks cause I was also considering buying a stack on display down there. What they really need to do with these, is give you drawer customization. I need one full length tall drawer to stand up my sockets, one full length short drawer for wrenches, one bulk drawer for power tools, and one bulk drawer for kits and shit. For everything else, I need shorter drawers. Not the 6 or 7 different drawer heights that are automatically put into every box. And I shouldn't have to order replacement drawers and slides and assemble it myself. For the money they want, I should be able to order the box configured exactly the way that I want it. Check out the toolbox configurator on MATCO's website. That's what HF needs. A website where you can build your box and see how it looks, and then place your order. Cut out the idiots at the store who you just know are going to order the wrong goddamn color or screw something else up. And I also think they need to stop trying to compete with Snap-On. We all know this shit is nowhere remotely close to Snap-On quality. And Icon is most likely made in Chinama whereas Snap-On is made in the U.S.A.
Guess you missed the Ridgid, Kobalt, and Craftsman videos or maybe the expensive socket one also. You should check them. There is a Milwaukee and Ridgid video coming up as well.

just curious, did you buy the 36 and side cab because you did not like the drawer configuration of the 56. ive actually been going back and forth between the 36 icon and a macimizer 41 cart. i only have maybe 10 to 15 years left till i retire, and have had the same top and bottom snap on that were new in 1989 i got after diesel school. i just dont want to spend 5 to 15 grand on one of the tool truck boxes....
For the same price you can buy a used Snap-on in great condition. It will also retain value. Icon won't. It's also made in China.
I don’t plan on selling it so resale value is little to no concern for me. I would say the actual market for resell is unknown but we all know used prices are typically less than new.
Still used doesn't have the "new" tingling feeling lol.
@@MrTmenzo Buying things based on feelings can back fire allot of the time.
@@Crazywaffle5150 pre owned new doesn't make sense bud. People rarely buy used tool truck tools from goobers trying to sell them for top dollar. Just browse eBay and look.
Price has gone down eaven more...36in is 1300 or 1400 ( I forgot) with no coupon
How long does it usually take to get an ICON tool box once ordered at the store?.......ahhh haaaa, 4-6 weeks. Hmmmmmm
Why not just go with the 56" box?
I didn’t want or need the power drawer.
@@ClientGraphics fair enough. Love the box can't wait to see how it works out.
So wait ... with HF credit you get another 10% off ? So a total of 30% off with card and coupon ?
You would get 20% off with one coupon and then you could get 10% off your first purchase or the remaining balance which isn’t quite like a flat 30% off but it is more than just 20%. It’s like how Kohl’s stacks discounts.
Okay so for the 73" with hutch , locker and steel top you add it up , take of 20% ... then you take 10% off that total ? So it would be around $4895 for all that. That's not too bad honestly ..
snap off price for HF pass LOL
Lol not even close to Snap On, add $10000.
@@andrewmclamb6984 When I commented they were 2x what they are now. they relized they dont sell at that price. I think most of these were like 8-10k.
I'm looking to reduce floor space taken up by my Cornwell box. Damn thing is 67Wx47Hx30D. By no means huge but, it's in a small hole, it's getting old, parts are getting hard to find, and I need to fit an air compressor in that hole as well.
I went and looked at the Icon today just to get an idea
Today and tomorrow (7/26/2020-7/27/2020) they're running 25% off so, the 56" roll cab plus stainless top plus hutch would cost me about $3,000 with free delivery.
But, make it flat black instead of gloss because gloss black is impossible to keep clean and looks like shit."
I'm debating on it.
Buyer Beware!!! This box is discontinued. No more parts or stainless top.
I wonder where the trump supporters in the comment section are right now saying icon is chinese junk...
The packaging says designed in the USA manufactured in China. So I guess it’s really no different than an IPhone 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@ClientGraphics It's much different.
@@nathanr.8556 No it’s not lol.
@@andrewmclamb6984 Very different. With iphones there is no choice. With hand tools THERE IS A CHOICE
@@ClientGraphics Very much different
Sold out to the freight. :/ Another channel wasted
Guess you missed the Ridgid, Kobalt, and Craftsman videos or maybe the expensive socket one also. You should check them. There is a Milwaukee and Ridgid video coming up as well.
ClientGraphics i know you have other videos.. which is why I followed your channel. This video is not like your others. Its scripted for the freight. Dont sell out to them just feedback that is all
I appreciate the feedback and I’m sorry that it came off that way it wasn’t my intention. It was an experience that involves a large transaction so you can bet I know the process from top to bottom.
