Fox was a tv star, and I remember reading a small blurb in a movie magazine about a new film he would be in. I read the synopsis and it was only a paragraph. It sounded like a great idea. So I went opening weekend. And loved it. And it took over the summer thar year. It ended on a joke about his kids and the delorean flying off. Not meant for a sequel at all. But the demand was there and the creators got to work and did an excellent job continuing the story. Unfortunately the actress who played his girl friend couldn't return because of a family issue. And she had to be recast. The creators never would have let her get in the car at all had they known at the time they would be making a sequel. I love this films. And sometimes the stories behind the making of such films is just as entertaining as the films themselves. Also the actor who played Marty's father did not return. Their are a few rumours why, But becasue they used footage not used from th first film, and photos, and another actor with make up. The lawsuit he put against the company helps actors get paid in situation like this in part 2 where his likeness was used without permission and no compensation. He did get compensated in the end. And a new law for actors was put in place. I really enjoyed your videos. Very nice and refreshing audience you are to watch the films. I loved how they blended this film in with the first one. Amazing. Since this film so much of pop culture and tv shows, cartoons etc. Borrow from this film. - Toronto, Canada.

Regarding the cover of the Sports Almanac the woman in the antiques shop pointed out the it had something unique, "it's called a dust cover that was until they invented dust repellent paper." We used to have dust covers on magazines, hard cover novels (some still do) which matched or closely matched the actual cover, sometimes if some new product or guest appearance related to the book or magazine the dust cover is where on the sides that fold in, on the back and in rare cases on the front this is where it was added. So the actual magazine cover wasn't ripped off, Biff unfolded it and wrapped it around the cover of the nude magazine so he could check out the girls but look like he's reading the Almanac which fooled both Marty and Strickland until the Principal opened it up and caught him with it which isn't allowed on school grounds and why he took it.

"The time-traveling is just too dangerous. Better that I devote myself to study the other great mystery of the universe: Women!"
Fun Fact: First film appearance by Elijah Wood. He plays one of the two video game boys to whom Marty speaks in the Cafe 80's near the start of the film.
Scientific Illiteracy Fact: Despite time-travel being impossible due to Entropy and Thermodynamics, Astrophysicist Carl Sagan considered this the greatest time travel movie ever made. He praised the accuracy in handling the multiple time lines as what would really happen if time travel were possible. In Back To The Future: The Game (2010), Carl Sagan is the alias used by Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) when visiting Hill Valley in 1931.
Technical Feat Fact: The biggest effect the picture employs is a camera system called the VistaGlide. There are four scenes that use the effect of the same actor interacting with themselves. The four scenes that were shot were Griff and 2015 Biff (Tom Wilson) in the Cafe 80's, the dinner sequence in 2015, 1955 Biff talking to 2015 Biff in the garage, and 1955 Doc (Christopher Lloyd) talking with 1985 Doc. In order to create the dinner sequence with VistaGlide, the camera had to be divided into thirds and Michael J. Fox had to come in three different times to play his older self, Marty Jr., and his daughter Marlene. This is the first film to accomplish interaction between the same actor on the screen twice as two different characters. If you watch closely, you'll see that 2015 Biff's hand disappears during the scene in the garage.

However, thanks to reactors like you, I no longer feel alone in thinking his make-up didn't make him look all that much older. It does in the first movie in a couple close shots, but otherwise not.

23:27 "That could be, like, the first smart thing we've seen Biff do." Don't give him _too_ much credit. It's almost guaranteed that he used the at-hand almanac book cover to camouflage his "sexy magazine" so he could get away with bringing that to school. The fact that this mislead Marty as to the almanac's true whereabouts is sure to be coincidence.

  • @MadcapMatt
    @MadcapMatt Рік тому +3

The reason that George's character was upside down was to help hide the fact that it wasn't Crispin Glover playing the role. He was recast because he was difficult to work with on set and that helped cover the actor swap.

    • @raybernal6829
      @raybernal6829 Рік тому +2

Part 2 is not exactly FANTASTIC, but it's essential to get you to part 3 and part 3 is AMAZING! I've seen part 1 and part 3 hundreds if times.
    You will really like it.
The entire back to the Future trilogy is basically just one entire movie non stop.
Oh and when old Biff returns from the past he is in pain as he steps out of the time machine. In a deleted scene you see old Biff disappear.
So basically he was erased from existence because due to whatever he dud in the past it would lead up to his death.
I heard it said that Lorraine kills him for revenge for killing George when she finds out the truth. Who knows???
But if you recall Marty was almost erased from existence from the first movie also.
Oh and pay close attention to young Biff friends. One if them is young Billy Zane who played Cal in Titanic.
In the first movie he kept a toothpick in his mouth.

11:10 "You don't seem like you're _doing_ well."
I once had this movie on DVD. In the DVD, they had deleted scenes, including one that _expanded_ on Biff's behavior after he brought back the time machine.
Remember in part 1, when it looked like the timeline Marty is part of was going to disappear and take Marty with it? _Marty_ was in pain. And it deteriorated to the point that we could see through his hand.
In the deleted scene from part 2, Biff watches the time machine fly into the air and vanish into the past, and right at _that_ moment, he cries out in pain, lies down on the ground, and disappears.
They cut this scene because it raised more questions than it answered. If you watch it with the commentary on, they explain that, at some point, between 1985 and 2015, Biff pushed Lorraine too far and she _shot_ him.

Elisabeth Shue replaced Claudia Wells as Jennifer Parker. Claudia was originally up for reprising her role but ultimately pulled out after her mum was diagnosed with cancer.

that dude who was colecting for the clock tower in 2015 is actually the mechanic who biff complaind to in 1955 about the 300 dollars.

but nope. biff. no no. your way future self actaully stole it from marty since he bought the book and you took it. tehrefore h was just taking back what was his anyway.

The big plot hole: Biff going back in time to change the future means that when he came back to return the DeLorean it would be in a different alternate future, not the one Marty and the Doc were currently in.

Switching the covers may be the smartest thing Biff ever did, but still not _that_ smart. He wasn’t actively trying to make a decoy almanac, he was just stealing the dust jacket to sneak a girlie mag into the dance. 😁

This movie definitely goes into darker territory than Part I. It may not be quite as strong as the other two parts, but there's still loads to love about it.
I like how you picked up on the Donald Trump link via the portrait in Biff's office. Biff's character actually was based on Trump from the 80s!

So here's a brain buster for you...
If Marty and Doc hadn't burned the book _before_ Marty from the first movie went back to 1985...would that Marty have ended up in the dark time line 1985?
Also, it's no fluke you thought that portrait behind Biff was Trump...that's who the evil 1985 Biff was modeled after.
Hmm... our 2015 came and went and no flying cars, no Jaws 19, no self drying jackets, no hover boards (well no hoverboards like in this movie). So the 2015 in the movie isn't our timeline.
Meanwhile, libraries are being shut down, we're pouring so much toxins into our environment, the complete hell we've been through the last few years, -Biff- Trump is (hopefully now _was_ ) more powerful and crooked and corrupt than ever...
*We live in the darkest time line!!!* 😱 😱 😱

You will enjoy the 3 movie in the trilogy. I think but in not absolutely certain that the first Back To Future movie and second Back To Future movie were shot back to back making it easier to shoot and or insert scenes from the first movie into Back To The Future 2. There well have also been some repurposing of footage from the first movie as well particularly where Marty’s dad is appears in 1955 scenes do to the actor who played George McFly ( Chrispin Glover) refusing to appear in the movie do a salary dispute.
While all three movies in the Back to The Future Trilogy are generally like by audiences the first and third ones tend to typically be the favorites out of all three Back To The Future movies. All questions that the end of Back To The Future 2 left you with will be answered in the 3rd movie. The Back To the Future Trilogy does a great job of having references carried over from one movie to the next.
Fun Fact about Back to the Future 2 that most people probably don’t realize is that during the 1955 scenes there are 4 Delorean Time machines: (1) the one Marty drove from 1985 to 1955, (2) the one Biff drove Back from 2015 to 1995, (3) the one doc and Marty drive from alternate 1985 to 1995, and (4) one that will revealed in the 3rd movie which will answer how 1995 doc helps Marty get out of 1955 and back to normal 1985. Love your reactions and your reaction channel Deasha.

The first was intended to be a stand alone movie. When they decided to do the sequels they filmed 2 & 3 back to back because Michael J. Fox was starting to look older than 17. He was about 23 in the first movie.

Swapping the cover might have been smart for young Biff, but old Biff figured out how to start and program a time machine and use it (without knowing about the speed thing) with no help in a very limited time frame. I don't think he's as dumb as he seems to be.
