Luhan departure - health issue and race descrimination by the company. He actually consulted the members before leaving. He was the most popular member of the group at that time so many fans left with his departure.
Tao departure - continuous injuries, not being given medical support by company and descrimination. His departure hurts the most cause as the maknae of Exo-M, he was very much loved.
It's okay to laugh with the pants choreo, the first time it came out, some laugh and find it weird but more are amazed. The pants became a hit and even became a fashion statements for dancers.
Tao is one of a kind !!
He was so shy and looked so lost at the beginning ,he debuted after only 11 months of training and his korean was not good, but ended up such a brat , that guy who can't be bought , always speaking his mind with brutal honesty 😅
His music career is not so impressive (for me!!), but as an actor, he is amazing, his favourite genre is action dramas and movies and already made a few( I loved him in "The Game Changer")
He is maybe the richest of all members, he inherited a fortune from his father and still makes money on his own, as a CEO , business man, singer actor and brand ambassador
I just love Tao! If I had discovered EXO in the beginning he might have become my bias, although after 4 years I still haven't been able to choose one...they all wreck me. I have a few of Tao's songs on my play list...his voice is sweet. In these early mv's he looks kind of bad-ass, but after watching some of his dramas and interviews he seems(to me)to be a sweet teddy bear. Just my impression.
@Nat-fq8hc I also still have it difficult to choose a bias until now, after over 4 years of fangirling, but Tao is a special case, I love his self confidence and how straightforward he is ! I will never forget when he scolded his fan for tolerating his cheater boyfriend.. or when he confronted and challenged his haters, also in a live ☺️

What is Love - when Exo have just landed on Earth but discovered they are in separate worlds (parallel universes) and their ship (the blue crystal you'll see in history) wrecked through time and space. Its possible they don't even know who they are but they're trying to learn. They're slowly discovering the stuff from the wreck (the symbols and papers Chanyeol discovers in barn), looking at eclipse to realize their existence/identity (memories coming back), trying to learn how to disguise themselves as humans and encountering each other which is unlocking their power.
History - they've all are finally together in What is Love and are now reminiscing that why the hell they came to this planet. Flashback to History where they're still in Exoplanet and how they were assigned to go to Earth and save the people from Red Force.
Mama - they've learned to disguise themselves among humans now but are constantly confused with how selfish humans are and why do they even need to save humans so they're trying to seek guidance from Mama (You Majesty) or Creator to know whether or not their mission is worth it to risk everything to help these people.
Also, when you get the chance, watch EXO's Sweet Lies live in Japan. Be prepared to pause often!

The concept guide can be put on hold as the guide itself also suggest to watch the mvs first. However "The Ultimate to Exo" by Pastel Kookie and individual guides to Exo by Caesar Oh can be seen now.

6:40 Luhan has a few severe phobias; he's got a phobia of small spaces, heights, etc. So, a combination of a few of them equals that flying is also a huge phobia of his. This wasn't so bad when EXO-M was mostly in China, but in 2013 EXO's schedule had them flying sometimes multiple times a day. Luhan has to take medication or drink when he flies, and that plus the stress of doing it so much really started to effect his health. He's a really athletic and active guy, but he started to get sick a *lot* (Rumor was he was throwing up and/or passing out backstage pretty often.)

*Context: Luhan is a HUGE Manchester United fan. It's one of the first things about him you learn when you become his fan. This trip he'd be taking in the video included getting to see Manchester United play and also getting recognized as a 'Red Devil Messenger' among other big deals. The guy explaining everything in the video is someone Luhan has known since school & has become essentially Luhan's right hand man.*
During their predebut or early year Luhan was the most popular among them. He already has fan club during his high school days. Fun fact: Mostly of EXOL's first love/bias was luhan

My bias are Tao and Chen, i really love their voice. As you already familiar with Chen voice, it doesn't has to explain anymore but Tao's voice is really pleasing to my ears. His rap and talk voice is so sweet.
2-3 of their early albums I only purchased the Chn version.
The part where you saw Kai staring into the camera in the EXO-M version of "History" wasn't there in the EXO-K version because that was the part where they revealed the EXO-M members. The EXO-M MV is the opposite of what happened in the EXO-K version.

Also, Tao (pronounce as Tahw) he is the maknae in EXO-M, he looks intimidating at first but he is the babiest in group same with Sehun hahaa they are the spoiled brats in the group but EXO loves to spoiled them

Please check out the lyrics of Mama too, you'll understand the mv better that way. Honestly History and Mama are one of the few songs that actually explains the lore or are actually connected to mv.

I recommend the MV for the song Growl, which has become a national anthem in Korea.
Another thing, the songs in Killing Voice are also "Call Me Baby" and "Love Me Right" and i think you no need to react to the Chinese version in any song of EXO ❤

Most of EXOL first love is Luhan. He was mine. I remember how heartbroken I was when he left but I kinda predict he was next. But I’m happy that he is doing well on his own now. Had to recover years before D.O. finally became my bias again🫶
I really enjoy your reactions to Kpop and especially to EXO so far because you guys are always making comments on lots of trivial things that makes it fun for me to watch.
And as a huge EXO-L, I really appreciate your deep dive into their concept and story. But dare I say, for your own sake, nobody has the answer or know for sure abt EXO's theory and concept. So maybe you could just enjoy watching their performances and MV and appreciate their talents. If not, it would be very tiring for you to wreck your brain for every tiny little thing and try to associate it with their concept etc. Don't get me wrong. If you do that, I would still be watching your reactions. It is just I feel that you would be very tired to analyze every MV in regards of their concept. LOL. Cheers.

Kai - pronounced just like "eye" except "ka" sound at beginning
sehun isn’t pronounced that way lol his name in korean is 세훈 so it’s seh hoon.

@@kunikuzushis okay I'll edit that dear, I kept thinking whether I edit the hun part as many times in variety shows I've seen people pronounced Hun part as vowel 'o' instead of 'u'. I guess it depends on how fast are we pronouncing the name or how close they are.

5:30 There are actually a few EXO songs that are musically very upbeat, but the lyrics are actually sad and/or heavy😅 There's one song that is a fan favorite (it has a great choreo that is really energetic~), and Chanyeol helped write the lyrics for it; we always wonder who hurt Chanyeol, when we read the lyrics for that one~~~

If you are looking at the lyrics, be aware that there are occasional differences in the two versions, the emphasis changes a little.
The pant shake is iconic, by the way, people instantly recognise the connection to EXO. It always made people smile, yet it is also memorable.
Kai is beyond bias! Yep. I see your point, but he's mine. He's been my bias from the get go: I'm into dance so no one else stood a hope. I say Baekhyun is my second bias, not my wrecker because no one can wreck Kai. They are all totally amazing though, and more precious to me than any other celebrities. It's the talent and the ability to make any day better.
Kai was instantly my bias too, for his dancing & charisma. I really struggle to focus on anyone else when he is dancing, even if he has a hat over his face. EXO’s latest comeback without Kai in the stage performances was interesting - I really missed seeing him but it actually also allowed me to focus on the others (btw D.O. slayed). Baekhyun & D.O. are slowly becoming bias wreckers though.

Look up the video of Super Junior's Henry Lau singing the original "The Eve" demo version. Henry was the songwriter and he gave it to EXO and the lyrics were changed. It was not originally written as a song about making war, but babies. It's in English so no subtitles needed.
Kris was the first to leave EXO. His departure was abrupt (he quit one week before their first world tour: EXOPlanet #1- The Lost Planet). SM was pissed and his name & image from all the concert promotional material
And now he is a Rapist and in Jail for 13 Years .After that they bring him out of China back to Canada and he isnt allowed to go ever back to China! He has also betrayed Tao and Luhan before! He used them for his own Fame and stole their Projects ! He badmouthed Tao and Luhan !He never swa them as true Friends! He was always a Traitor! Exo was not his Goal!
Unfortunately Chen had very little screen time in early EXO videos Im glad you put him in thumbnail you should see the exo history korean version live performance Chen carries 60% of history he is insane
Luhan did have some health issues but Tao was the one with the continuous injuries. Last time I checked, Luhan (and maybe Tao too. Not sure) still has a pretty decent fanbase in China, and him and Tao occasionally collaborate on projects.
Also I wonder if you guys can also react or just watch VIXX in your own time. I think their concepts are also amazing from their debut to now. Also Xiumin and Vixx Leo are best friends so it would be cool if you can react to the king of performance VIXX. ❤

EXO‘s concept is quite detailed & I think you will naturally pick some of it up along the way. It’s quite confusing to try to pick it up all at once 🤯 perhaps an overall guide might help ease you into it. Many reactors break the guide into 2 parts if you don’t want a long video. Either way it’s very entertaining to watch you two 😂😂
