Lucy does not appear happy. Nice video
What amazes me the most about experienced pilots like this is their proficiency on the radio....in psychology there is what is known as the "Executive Functioning" part of the brain. Pilots have some of the most amazing executive functioning skills ever. That ability to multi-task, process a multitude of ever-changing information fluently, and stay ahead of the plane is impressive...not to mention the art of making it look easy. ha ha
Fantastic flight. Enjoyed coming along
...Lucy seems just a little sleepy on the early morning flight..(smile Lucy...it's selfie time)..thanks again..always enjoy your videos.....
We were on 5 hours sleep and no coffee. I had the adrenaline from flying otherwise I would have been falling asleep myself. LOL
Welcome back BP, you've got to have your hair right for selfies, it was good that Lucy asked what the controls were for, love the new camera angles, and i always enjoy coming along, oh and i'm waving back to Lucy.
+Scotty you've always got to be prepared for selfies in this digital age! Lol Thanks for watching. I will let her know you waved back!
Love the new camera angles. I feel like I am in the cockpit with you. You usually dress very casual but when I saw your attire, I knew you were doing something special. Always enjoy your videos. Lucy was more inquisitive on this flight which is a good thing. Pretty soon she will be occupying the right seat permanently! Best of luck as always!
+James Wikstrom thank you. My next flight (not next video) I will add back the 4th camera and tweak the panel view. I think I have a better idea of how to improve it. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
Great flight and cameras Orlando looking good I've been there twice when my boys where young love to go back happy days thanks again cheers
Thanks for watching. I use to go to Orlando a few times a year but now that my kids are older I never go either.
Lucy is so sweet. Thanks.
After following several single engine UA-camrs, it is nice to follow twin engine Beach without having to look through the strange propeller abortions looking forward. Glad I found you and am now subscribed to your channel.
Welcome to my channel & I am glad you found me as well. Even if the only perk is not looking through the prop effect! LOL J/K Thanks for subscribing!
Thanks Baron Pilot! I enjoy your presentation and teaching style. Learning much from cruising with you and Lucy. You are a cute couple. Keep up the good works! Again, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Your videos have gotten me interested in getting a twin engine one day. And I don't even have my PPL yet! Thanks for the beautiful morning flight video.
Follow your dreams!! Don't let anyone tell you that you can't!
Great vid, and thanks for taking us along. Funny to hear you talk about winter. Up here in Canada we had -21c (-27 with wind chill) this morning. Good angles, but I do agree about one missing. Very good, thanks again.
+Keith S that's like here today!! Without the minus! Lol thanks for watching. My next video has similar camera angles and after that they will have the missing fourth angle.
Always enjoy flying with you..I have fond memories of flying at Sunstate Orlando to convert my Australian licence to FAA licence. Good to see you back.
I am glad you continue to come along. Your loyalty is much appreciated.
Like the new camera angles. Good to see you and Lucy again out there in the air.
I spent a week in Orlando last month and you are correct about traffic.. most of the time!
Thanks for the video and be safe!
Bill
Thanks! The plane was down for maintenance longer then expected.
Orlando traffic, especially on I-4 has always been ridiculous for as long as I can remember.
I figured you had to be going some where special. Lucy looked outstanding and you cleaned up well. Not your usual attire. thanks for the video.
+Frank South she always looks great but I'm not sure how well I clean up. Lol I do prefer my casual attire when flying. At least until I get A/C in the airplane. Thankfully it's not summer now.
Once again awesome video great approach onto Runway 7 flying across Highway 408 during rush hour
Isn't every hour rush hour on the 408? LOL
Nice video all the way around. Eye candy is a bonus
Thank you! Never thought of myself as eye candy!! HAHAHAHA
Thanks for getting back to me. I live in Memphis and travel quite a bit.
Peaceful flight and without storms; gotta love that. I liked the camera angle to your left. This is for Lucy at the timestamp of 10:38 👋 Hello ☺
I love peaceful flights without storms. Although I'm sure my viewers enjoy the flights with storms more. It makes for better videos! LOL
Good to see you post another video, been having withdrawals. lol. Beautiful morning for a flight.
Thanks! Sorry for the delay. The airplane was down for maintenance. I should be getting back to posting regularly.
Ah maintenance, that's always good to do. How do you record your audio? I like the new camera angles, makes it easier to see the 6 pack.
+Carson Brian I have a cable that attaches from the intercom to the camera
Ah, roger that.
Beautiful landing. 👍✈️
Thank you!
Camera angles look great, you make it look effortless.... thanks for sharing the video.
Movie Magic!! LOL Thanks for watching!
I have some limited IFR experience and that's a little more than movie magic.
+Fernando M thank you fo the kind words.
Beautiful aircraft.
Thanks
Once again great video. Love the new angles as well, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Good to see you today. I was wondering where you have been, must been busy. Well I enjoyed this video as always, great info buddy. I really like your past video when your mom flew with you for the first ride in your plane. This brought memories for me when I flew with my dad and mom, well it was her first time in a aircraft ever. She drove my dad crazy with all the questions she had. I answered pretty much of her questions so dad could fly the aircraft. Both of my parents have passed and I really miss those moments in the air with them. I don't fly much, mostly with friends both fixed and rotor but don't operate any, just a ride a long. You and your lady and family have a great upcoming holiday.
Thanks for watching! The plane was down for maintenance and with the past hurricane it was behind schedule so I was grounded longer then expected. I don't mind questions. It shows interest! Enjoy the holidays as well!!
Your flying is always smooth
Thank you. Probably my editing. Lol
Beautiful Flight, Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you and thanks for watching
Great to see you back on the saddle, you guys make a lovely couple,,,Lucy estas curiosa de los controles de vuelo y ahora vuelas con mas confianza te felicito,,Bienvenida a la Aviation
Once again thanks for share Captain
Thank you for the kind words!
I only fly along when Lucy is with you. Your a lucky man !
Thank you. I am very lucky. However you are missing out on some great flights if you only watch the flights that have Lucy. Not to mention I don't always put her in the thumb and title. 😉
Like the camera angles. Nice landing right on center line!
With the cameras rolling it like having the world watching. So I am held accountable for every landing! LOL
Love the new cam angles. You make me miss flying:)
Thanks. Don't miss it to much. Get out there and fly!
Hey! Good to see you back. It's been a while. Love that new camera angle as well. - Mike Costello.
Thanks! With this setup I felt like I was missing an angle but I do like it. I will just have to go with a 4 Camera base setup.
You do a great job in responding. Thanks bro. Again, great flight.
Thanks for paying a visit to my neck of the woods. Hope all went well :)
It did thanks . Was only there a few hours but ORL is easy to get in and out of.
Hope to see you and Lucy in the sky pretty soon. Great videos!
Thank you!!
Yup,we got a nice view of Lucy...noo man,you are flying like Maverick....keep it up.
Great flight, you certainly look different this time around. I need to get myself into a plane as im watching lots of others flying but not doing it myself. Look forward to the next one.
YES get yourself into an airplane. That is the point of my cannel to promote aviation and motivate pilots and potential pilots!!
Thanks for the video and I️ will say you are very good about replying to our comments and Questions.
The camera over your left shoulder seem to show the dash at an angle but this is not the case since it was at an angle while taxiing. Not a big deal.
Thanks again for bringing me along as it will be a while before I️ am medically cleared to fly since I️ had a heart valve replacement and will have to get a Special Issuance over the winter.
Ya I'm still learning what works best and how to mount it. It still needs to be tweaked. My next video I moved it back but I think I want to move it even farther forward. I also need to bring back my 4th camera that sits in the center over my shoulder.
Sorry to hear about your heart but I am glad you're ok. I had a friend that was able to get his medical back. It took him a few years but he did get it.
Baron Pilot Thanks for your reply. On the medical I will pursue getting the proper Special Issuances. I know there are other options that don’t require a medical but I don’t want the restrictions that come with that.
I can't say I blame you. Please keep me informed as you go. I look forward to hearing you're back in the skys!
Thank you, sir....always outstanding videos
Thanks for watching!
Ah, Fantastic! I'm training for my PPL out of KORL. It's cool to see a video of you flying into it
Nice! I trained in TMB but actually did my check ride at ORL back when Air Orlando was there.
Very nice! The new camera angles worked out well too.
Thank you. They are still a work in progress but if I stick with these angles I think I will be going with a 4 camera base setup. Just felt I was missing an angle.
Lucy has cute dimples! Checking that mixture knob. LOL
1st time viewer. I often utilize a baron for business trips. Enjoyed the flight. Well done!
Welcome to my channel. Thank you for watching. As a business traveler you will appreciate many of my other videos as well.
I look forward to watching them. Thank you for the reply!
It's been really nice to ride along with you two. Hope to see more. I haven't flown in quite a few years (except Sims), had around 400 hours when other things intervened. Hope to maybe get to some Light Sport eventually. Did a lot of XC out of ORL - to GCN, GSP, JST, TUL, CHS, ISP, (all separate trips) and all over Florida with a lot of night flying in Florida, mostly in a C172, some Cardinal, some PA28. I did get about 5 hours of right seat time in a Baron one day, ORL-JAX Craig - Opa-Locka-ORL with some sightseeing along the way. That was back in the day when you could do touch and goes at MCO. I remember doing one on 18R, climbing to Pattern, and making a second touch and go, all on one pass. Long runway :) . God bless.....
Thanks for coming along. Sounds like you've had some great trips. Keep flying the sims and hopefully you can get back into it one day. Light Sport or otherwise.
Nice video. I thought the camera angles were just fine. Thanks for posting your videos.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
Lindo vuelo capitan, linda copiloto lucy,
Nice camera angles. Very well done. :-)
Thank you.
I fly a lot out of central Florida in a Seneca V. Since finding your channel, we keep an ear out for the N. Though we usually head North out of the state. We do the same, almost always have an IFR. Of course our families like to track us too. Should be moving up to a Navajo soon.
+ZooBro Adventure Vlogs nice!! I flew a Navajo a few weeks back. Hoping to get more time in it and some video footage for my channel. Must say it was easier to fly then my Baron. More like a bus. Lol
That's why we are getting the plane. We need the weight capabilities and range it offers. Plus should be a little faster than the Seneca V. Growing up my dad flew beach planes. Started with a debonair, then A36, then a Baron (can't remember the model) Think it was the the 58.
Really enjoy your videos.
Thanks for watching!
Good luck ... we’re all counting on yuh
+CraigScott Media Shirley you must be kidding?
Love the headsets!!
your copilot should use the snugger band that Clarity offers..i think she'd find them even more comfortable. They look like they are pulling down a bit....I'll bet she also doesn't use the lapel clip...lol
I am a fan of lightweight headsets. I have been using these for years. Now that there are a few options I may try out a few others this year. I try to tell her to use the clip. I am not familiar with the snugger band. I will have to look into it.
Just call Clarity and ask them for one...its an elastic band that lets the headset fit much better on smaller heads. I put my Clarity's on my granddaughter (7 years old) and the snugger band kept them in place.
Just looked it up. I use to have them years ago. I never used them. When my kids were little they had kids headsets. Once I get her to use the clip if its still pulling down I may try that. Thanks!
yea...i see she keeps adjusting the mic....the clip and the snugger band will keep the mic in place for her.
Nice couple and a very nice aircraft. 👍
But.... I would throw out all the right side of the avionics, including the grandma TV 😉, and I would install something like a GN750 with a possibility to load and store FPL from your iPad and much more... And you’ll be able to get rid off the second iPad which is obstructing your right hand freedom a bit.
But that is just my little opinion. 😀
Thank you for watching. I have been slowly upgrading the avionics. I hope to update the radar screen soon. My second ipad does store and load flight plans into my IFD. In fact it completely controls my IFD with the exception of swapping frequencies. I keep it there so it sits at my finger tips keeping me from having to reach and it enables me to have a much larger screen then a IFD550 or GTN750. It doesn't really block my access to anything. The cross bar does that.
Mark, you REALLY need to study the Avidyne IFD series of FMS units. The IFD440 is a direct, slide in replacement for the GNS430W navigator, but the big thing is the IFD100, which is the app that BP is running on the iPad. It takes that tiny little 440 screen, and puts it on the iPad, and will also do the same thing for the IFD 500 series as well.
Not only that, but it actually adds capabilities. You can actually have two different displays, one on the FMS itself, and a second, completely different display on the iPad.
As BP said, everything you can do from the panel of the IFD series, except swap frequencies, is available on the IFD100 app. You can do your flight planning at home, and then upload to the box when you get the airplane.
Furthermore, and God knows I never thought I'd say this until a few months ago, I prefer the IFD over the GTN or GNS boxes. It's flight planning capabilities are so much nicer, you can do touch screen reroutes, and all around, Avidyne has just done a better job than Garmin.
Sure, Garmin beat the Entegra system, but Entegra was the first out of the gate, and Garmin learned from them and made the G1000 and follow on stuff better. However, Avidyne came back and really took Garmin to school on the rest of it. Garmin still exceeds Avidyne is some stuff, but Avidyne is less expensive, and does more.
BP needs to add an EX6000 display for his radar, and replace that Collins NavCom with a new IFD440, but honestly, he has a really great setup with Avidyne.
He get me to look at it, and convinced me if I ever buy an airplane, it'll have Avidyne FMS systems in it. Do the research, look at the features, learn for yourself.
Gary C REALLY? Thank you for the advice. But...
1. I live and fly in Europe and Avidyne is mostly the US market product.
2. I did not insist BP to buy any specific avionics. I said ‘something like...’. If you read carefully... It’s a matter of his personal preference.
And REALLY, saying that this brand is better over that is a kids talk. They’re competitors.
3. And if you ‘ever buy an airplane’ you will understand the difference between DEDICATED and PREINSTALLED avionics system
and a software version.
You can simply forget your iPad somewhere or it can fall down or go crazy rebooting and so on. 😉
Your life your choice.
Hi Mark, Avidyne may not have the presence in Europe that they do in the U.S., and even in the U.S., it isn't as large as Garmin is, it still works in Europe.
You said "I would throw out all the right side of the avionics, including the grandma TV. . . ." which to me, means you would get rid of all of it, including the Avidyne he has installed. Also, the IFD440 is 'something like' the GTN-750, in that both are touchscreen devices, both have full Nav and Com features and both are GPS units. So, it's already there.
However, saying one brand is better than the other isn't so much 'kids talk', I'm NOT bashing Garmin. I am saying, dollar for dollar, Avidyne gives you a better solution with a richer feature set and abilities the Garmins don't have.
Again, look at what the IFD100 app is all about. It only ADDS to the capability of the IFD series navigators, and they function perfectly well without it. For a little bit better understanding of the system, watch these two videos that BP put up.
ua-cam.com/video/rB8zQ8KoKXI/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/Hn2qoQZDCq0/v-deo.html
If anything that you say would happen to the iPad, then it's fine, you simply revert back to doing everything directly on the box. But, in the earlier, pre-'84 Barons and Bonanzas, because of the radio placement, the IFD-100 app works very nicely with the Avidynes for accessing data, controlling the boxes, all the way up to everything except physically switching frequencies.
I respectfully stand by my comments.
Nice flight. While training for my IFR we used Exec for getting used to high comm environment while under the hood.
Unfortunately the new camera angle got washed out by the sun glare.
Maybe a ceiling mounted camera between you n your copilot (like Premier 1 driver) would be better plus a angle view from left mount.
Always enjoy your vids.
Thanks
+Ron Wilson I like low angle of the dash but it needs some tweaking. I quickly realized I need to bring back the overhead camera as I felt I was missing an angle. It's a never ending work in progress. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Five cameras (you said 4 in a previous reply to someone). The two where they are now, the one on the panel looking forward where it is now, the one returned to the overhead, and one more on the tail tie down for the outside view.
wow, bro. your camera angles are right on!! great shots. Thank you for posting this. Its a beautiful. Wonderful flight. Keep posting. One day would like to come fly with you. Don't have my license yet... But, just want to hang out. - Chicago, IL
I hope you are working towards it. I don't have any trips to Chicago planned this year but I will be going to OSH.
Baron Pilot awesome man. Your videos are so cool and very education and extremely encouraging. I thank you much for posting. Tell the young lady, your wife, i said hello. Lol.
Great video BP.
Thank you 😊
That is true unless it's 2am lol, but now that I am back home in Miramar it pales in comparison to South Florida traffic.
Best Regards from Belgium for You and Lucy,
michel
Thank you all the way in Belgium.
Synchornise the Props Man! Levelling off at 7000ft still outta synch
Captain Baron, I’m enjoying ur video. You doing Christmas and New Years to.
Hey BP... Camera angles are great "Nice Ride" with a few observations... My 1st time seeing you without a Ball Cap and Sunglasses, Lucy is a very attractive gal and your flying style is quite similar to mine as we both call aloud all of our flight interactions! I got my routine from my father, a 30K ATP Rated Commercial Pilot, an aviation deity in my eyes but where did you pick up your style of piloting? well done and I hope that you enjoy the graduation ceremony ';-)
Much like golf, there is more then one way to hit the ball, but I believe the most important thing to be be consistent in your procedures. My call out have nothing to do with the camera and everything to do with my procedures even when I am alone.
I have been fortunate enough over the years to fly with many pilots. I never critique the pilots but I pay attention to what I like and don't like and take something from every person I fly with. Sometimes it is what to do, other times it is what not to do. LOL I also studied aviation safety and human factors. So between the two I have developed my own style. I find I am forever tweaking, trying to improve.
Like your new camera views.
+Stacy Palmer thank you. I have a few more tweaks for future videos that I think will be good.
Lucy !! she's a beautiful lady. hes a very LUCKY MAN !! ~~
Yes I am. :-)
concur with the other comments; like the camera placements!
Thanks for the feedback.
hy sir am from pakistan am your fan
only two green up indicated? what was the issue? nice landing almost as beautiful as Lucy!
????? I had 3 green.
Loved the new camera angles, especially the way you edit them and mix it up. Almost like being there. Does Lucy not like to fly? lol... She is beautiful, but seems nervous or up tight. Keep the videos coming!
She loves to fly. She still gets a little nervous but the videos don't do her justice. Thanks for watching and the positive feedback.
OMG great video thank you
Lucy seems kind of sad, she should be happy flying Baron airways, one of the best airlines on earth😃. You should make some sort of contest where a subscriber can win a flight with you, that would be so awesome. I wish you and Lucy all the best, stay safe my friend.
It was an early morning. She loves Baron Airways!! Thanks for the kind words!
A closer view of the big six would be nice. I suppose it’s hard to place the camera in a position close enough, I.e., the window but you need the ventilation window serviceable.
The best spot is where the window is. I can do that in the winter, but come summer time.......
Very nice With a twin no prop blades blocking wind shield view how about showin course on chart so could see intercepting the victor airway and final relation to apt
Thanks enjoyed
I am still working on a reliable way to record my iPad screens.
Baron Pilot Good luck
Para Lucy, saludos sinceros de Bélgica.
Michel
Michel Bruneel muchas gracias, saludos Michel.
Love KFXE man
It's a great airport1
Lucy is so, so quiet.
camera on under neath is cool when landing.
Thanks
Thirty+ years ago, several of us flew a Piper Archer from EVV TO ORL. It would have been a much nicer flight in your Baron. 😀. Our intermediate fuel stop was at CSG.
Nice!! That must have been a fun flight!! I like the long flights!
Baron Pilot, it was great fun. The longest flight I made was when our club sold the 152 and I delivered it, flying from Evansville, IN (EVV), to Brazoria County, TX (LBX) and returning the next day on a commercial flight out of Houston. I departed EVV about 0730 on a crisp February morning, made two fuel stops on the way, and arrived at LBX just before sunset. That’s a long day of flying in a 152 with no autopilot. Just me and a small cooler of Diet Cokes.
Hey there, nice videos. One question, what kind of watch are you wearing? I’m a watch guy. I like it.
Good camera angles and editing , have you tried putting one camera on the wing tip?
I have not. I mount one underneath but it is protected by the fuselage. I want to mount one on the wing but I've been nervous about it holding up at cruise speeds.
Always enjoy your videos. Have you thought of mounting a camera on the outside? I do not know if that is easy to do or what it takes to do that. Safe Travels
+Michael Stern I have mounted a camera on my tail a few times. Someone hasn't watched all my videos 😉
I flown out of orlando Exe . for more than 25 years .
A few comments.
Yeah, I like the camera angles, add another camera for that over the shoulder, where it used to be, and of course, get one for the tail tie-down spot.
Lucy, as someone mentioned, looked tired, but up for the 'Dawn Patrol', I guess I can understand that. Lovely shot climibing through 6.1 for 7. That was a great sunrise.
How many hours are you getting out of the jugs on the IO-470s? What ones are you replacing them with? I'm still wondering about those Chuck Ney cylinders, and how they bore them out so they aren't tapered. I saw one B55 on Controller with those jugs and they were 'higher time' and all the compressions were over 70, except maybe one.
When are you going to get rid of that Collins NavCom and get another IFD440? :p While you're at it, for all your IFR flying, I'm surprised you don't have a FD. Have you considered a couple of the Garmin G5s? The ADI with FD and a second as an HSI.
Of course, since you and I have conversed last, Garmin has come out with the G500TXi. I'm betting that would look nice in your panel, too! :)
I'm still liking the Dynon Skyview HDX, but they still don't have it certified yet. Maybe they're waiting for me to win Powerball so I can get my medical back, my instrument and multi ratings, and buy an airplane to put it in. :)
Anyway, great video, smashed the Like button, of course am subscribed, have a great day!
With this setup I do need the 4th camera for the over the shoulder shot.
It is hard to say how long the Jugs have lasted because while I can go back a view the engine logs, I don't know how the engine has been ran, leaned etc... My engine is an old 470 so it has steel cylinders. So when I change them I need to replace them with the same type.
My next upgrade will be two engine overhauls. So any new avionics will have to wait. Unless you share your power-ball winnings!!
Baron Pilot I promise, of I win Powerball, a lot of people on UA-cam in the Aviation arena are going to get some nice surprises! Jerry W might be a nice new panel, FlightChops might end up with a nice Piper Arrow, you might get some avionics upgrades.
I mean, WTH, I'm single, no kids, I'll help the family out, but why not spend the money on people who will appreciate it? :) 😃
HAHA You're a good man Charlie Brown
Another nice flight. I like your method of calling out most of your actions/procedures.
I think I asked you this once before but never saw a reply - When gear is extended and you have three in the green you also say "and one in the mirror" what do you mean by one in the mirror?
N
Dane Watson he has an outside mirror which allows visual observation of the gear. There are different types, some placed in a way that allows a view of only one, there’s allow a view of two or three.
Midlife Flight is Correct. "One in the mirror" refers to visually confirming I see the nose gear down in the mirror on my engine cowling. It isn't necessary as my lights give me the indication but it is a habit of mine to confirm since I have the capability to do so.
Midlife Flight Thanks for the info
Baron Pilot Thanks for your reply and info
Very nice mate, I will swap planes any day
+Truebluexpat ok I will bite. What do you fly?
Baron pilot unfortunately not for fun just work, the A320 family, I'm looking for a baron now though lol,
+Truebluexpat I watched a great documentary about the battle between Airbus and Boeing this week.
Which one BP?
Baron Pilot which one? Airbus is killing it in Asia,
Just wondering a couple of things is this the airport Payne Stewart left from in that Lear Jet Charter. His last flight. Also do a lot of PGA guys use this as their airport for Net Jet and Wheels Up. Is there a good spot to watch airplanes come and go from? I enjoy taking videos of airplanes. In Memphis we have Fed Ex coming and going all the time. Get some QS service Jets not a bunch. Occasional Wheels Up.
Payne Stewart departed MCO not ORL. They are very close to one another. If I recall correctly MCO has a place at the end/beginning of the runway where you can watch the airplanes come and go. ORL has a part on the SW corner of the field where yo can watch.
* PARK not part.
Hubo Miss Bélgica ayer,
La ganadora es una mujer hermosa con una raíz de plilipina.
Michel
Love the vids.. LOVE the watch! What is the watch you're wearing?
Thank you. It is an Invicta.
What is it about Continental engines and cylinders? I was looking at a Debonair with only 300 hours on an overhaul and less than 10 hours on cylinder replacement...
In my case my engines are past TBO so I can't really complain. But I think a lot of it has to do with how pilots operate their airplane's and some are overhaul shop related. Case in point. My buddy overhauled 2 IO470's at the same time on his Baron. From the start he found what he felt were abnormalities in the right engine but was told it was fine. At 500 hours, and past any warranty, he brought the plane to another shop and had to replace all 6 jugs on the right engine. That was a $15,000 bill!!! The new shop believed it was an issue from day one that the other shop didn't want to own up to. In fact the mechanic said if he wasn't a twin with a perfect left engine, he would have assumed it was operator neglect. That's why sometimes when you think you're saving money with a overhaul shop, you may be spending much more in the long run.
Need a flight and walk around at KCDK.
I've never been. It looks like a cool airport. I may have to add that to my list of airports to visit.
are you using the gopro prop filters from Nflight? Or how do you keep the props from looking bent.
I have the ND filters from Nflight for the Gopro but to be honest, I don't like the way they look. Tends to be too dark for my taste. I would also prefer a gradient filter instead. Although the ND would have been useful when I was landing into the sun. I don't know how I get so lucky. I think my settings may have something to do with it.
Exlt & very enjoyable video. I like your style..... BTW, what would you recommended as of mounted Yoke Tablet is it 8" or 10"???
Thank you!! I personally prefer the mini on my yoke but I have seen people go with the larger.
When you fly, do you generally hand fly and set bugs based on ATC instructions. When do you employ the autopilot?
I always set the bugs no matter how I am flying. I believe consistency is your friend. I found I was using the autopilot too much and my hand flying skills were diminishing. Now I will completely hand fly some flights and use the autopilot once I am leveled off at altitude for others. Just depends on my mood and the weather. But as a rule, at a minimum, I try to hand fly to altitude.
Nice flight - thank you. It looks like you punch in radio frequencies on a tablet and enter them into the system. Is that what you are doing? If so how is that hooked up?
That is correct. The iPad is running an app called Avidyne IFD100. It connects via WIFI to my Avidyne IFD series GPS. It is capable of controlling/entering everything into my panel mount with the exception of swapping frequencies. I believe that is a safety measure incase the app were to malfunction. I love it.
During every takeoff roll, you call out 84 kts. Is that V1 for the Baron?
Vr for the Baron is 84 kts.
Good look without the hat and glasses!
I hate flying without a hat and glasses. That sun can be blinding! LOL
Agreed! Unless it's overcast or night time (and sometimes even on overcast days the clouds are so bright I need the sunglasses). Great flight, as always!
Thank You!
BP-Love all your videos. I have an A-36 I have been looking for an offset holder for my ipad on the yoke like yours. Can you please tell me where you got it? Thanks.
+E Arundel ipadyokemounts.com. Tell him I sent you. No financial gain for me. He's a good guy and I like to support small businesses.
How about a tripod between the seats to view the panel?
I will go back to having a 4th camera mounted to the roof. I don't like tripods in the back because it will interfere with backseat passengers and potentially block my hand crank should I ever need to lower my gear manually.
Baron, I was curious about the Eagle on the dash, does it rotate? LOL. Baron can you show this to Lucy, I read that you were a very proud Latina. I love that, my wife..Alicia, is Latina and her parents are from Jalisco, Mexico where some of the most beautiful women come from in Mexico. I have learned Latinas are the most beautiful women. Im going to show my wife these videos, I told her how pretty you are and how you hate the turbulence. We hate it too... lol
The eagle is just sitting there so yes I can rotate. I will show Lucy your post.
Thanks. Regards for you and your wife. 🤗🤗
That is true I did see them It must be an age thing.😃
They say the mind is the second thing to go!! ;-)
😂
Could you please say something about the Clarity set you use? For how long do you use it and what’s your impression? Thanks
I have had them since 2003 and I love the light weight over the traditional headsets. At the time they were the only game in town that made headsets like these. I wish someone made a noise canceling lightweight. Now that there are a few others in the market, I think I need to see how the others compare.
I have recommended these to a few of my friends. Some didn't like them after buying them. Remember, lightweight headsets are a different feel then traditional headsets and you must get the ear foam inserted properly for proper use.
Thank you for the reply. I do need something similar because sometimes a waterfall comes out of my ears when I remove a headset :))
Besides, I don't really care about the noise.
Don't get me wrong, when used properly, they block out noise as good as any traditional headset. Let me know what you decide.
I will. Cheers.
I feel out of my chair. When he fixes his hair... What Hair!
I have another comments
When your talking to the camera because your describing weather conditions etc , can you turn down the radio which the ATC' s are talking to another pilot, I am listening and you and the Atc people are talking and I can't hear you clearly
Thank you.
