I mean this in all seriousness. With the Japanese dedication to quality, and work ethic, I woulkd bet thats one of the safest airlines in the world. And Kudos to Boeing for an alternative to the A-380 webmasterataircraftmechanic org
It is cool seeing the 787 fly into service after having a hand in starting the program in 2007, I worked on the program until feb.25,2010. Airplane #9 was my last one,it was a bitter sweet move back to the 747-8 to my old job as a 30104 electrician. Now here i am in june 2014 trying to get a job there as a new employee!!! Its funny what life brings!!!
As a former NDT inspector a lot of pride in my job everyday. Quality was the key word. If I missed a flaw the part would be installed. Thousands of lives could be lost if the air plane or missile went down incorrectly.
@FrisoLustig Couple of things, glare has aluminium strips in it and isn't as light nor strong as carbon fibre; evidenced by the ability to offer higher air pressure inside, which is also why the empenage of the A380 was replaced with aluminium. Further, in the cockpit you'll find most pilots prefer the old wheel to the sidestick even though the wheel is fly by wire, and for fuel consumption I'd wait until around the 20th a/c is delivered. A380 though only has 220 orders, 787 over 900. Who won?
On a 12-15 hour flight, that can mean arriving 10-15 minutes earlier which is substantial. I've also read the 787 climbs out and reaches cruising altitude much faster than the A330, which is the best plane Airbus makes.
Yeah, and if you have an American Express Platinum (personal, business or corporate) card, remember to book the International Airline Program (IAP) 2 for 1 from BOS to NRT using JAL.
@MisterSunson: sorry, glare is as light as the composite used on the 787. How does plastic lead a lightning strike? The cockpit is - despite the great screens - old-fashioned with the huge steering wheel. With so many improvements, it only turns out to be a little more fuel efficient than the A330-200 (which is nearly 20 years old). BTW: what is your interpration of 'most comfortable'? And the quietest? Ever heard a Avro Jet? I look forward flying on 787 but please be a bit more rational.
But you are mistaken when you have made in the plane of dreams where to place the legs very close to the dining table .. ... When the chair turns into a bed is not comfortable because what is required to table rises slightly
@blampa Sales dont prove who won. In fact, its a stupid thing to say that the 787 won because it has 900 orders and a380 has 220 .The A380 serves LONG HAUL flights while the 787 serves SHORT/MEDIUM HAUL. They do not compete with each other. Obviously medium and short haul flights are much more common than long hauled flights. So it wont take a genius to figure out that there are always going to be smaller planes serving medium haul flights than bigger planes.
Can someone please tell me do they (the airlines) perform this 10 hour inspection for every new plane they receive or is this an exception because the 787 is a new model? It just doesn't seem financially viable to perform this check on the non crucial parts of the plane (such as the in flight entertainment system) for every single plane.
Thank you so much for an exceptional video.and sharing this with others such as myself.i absolutely love the boeing house color. I own a tee shirt with this amazing aircraft and wear it with pride to let people know i am a boeing fan.i also owe blurays and dvd of the 787 dreamliner.
I mean I think they just spent most of the time in the first class section because if something does not work the people would sue the airline and Boeing for all of it's money
Finally the dreamliner comes into service, good job Boeing, you guys deserve it!!
its nice to see my work in action :)
Beautiful aircraft! I hope to work there one day!

The Japanese and Germans are the most detailed conscious when it comes to engineering ... they demand perfection, and Boeing delivers it!

Good job ANA and Boeing. Long live the "Princess of the Sky".

@blampa Why are you comparing the A380 to the 787?

Amazing aircraft! Boeing is definitely the best!
Do they go through all these checks for each unit?
Cool That is an awesome plane keep up the good work :)
Beautiful !! although 747-8 is queen !!!
Anyone know how soon before we see this ship in revenue service?

looks awesome
Beautiful :)

@nelsonalfanii both´s planes has pros and cons!

If mechanics find problems, they have a say. It could save many lives, not only in the plane, but on the ground as well.
BOEING ROCKS AWESOME AIRCRAFTS :-)
amazing!
wow didnt know that the computer system in 787 was so advanced
I am loving it
I Love you Boeing!
2 people from Airbus didn't like this video.
Sokkeng is next time I am work at Boeing l. Love work
@blampa You can't be serious. The A380 is far more expensive than the B787...
i want to buy that plane :(
The ANA-cabin interiors look kind of disappointing...
I mean I think they just spent most of the time in the first class section because if something does not work the people would sue the airline and Boeing for all of it's money
U don't sue that easily 😂😂😂 If they do, they have to go to court and the judge will obviously disapprove.😂😂😂
They spend most of their time in first class because the first class paid extra to be in first class
I guess they overlooked the battery during the 10 hour inspection...
e qqqq
the rotate look´s strange...
It's a really beautiful airplane. Sexy wings and engines!
GIA must have this plane
@luther357 Yes
The toillet are flushed
Wow!
What a tedious inspection. I guess they take place for a reason.

Well it's not built for the mechanics. If the mechanics don't like it, they can work somewhere else.
