You can do whatever you want with the bulwark. It just works.

It's ok, you'll realize I took it very easy once we get to vanguard.
Bulwarks are some kind of crazy. Only a crazy guy brings a sheild, a sword and a pistol to kill the 10 foot tall lizard/dragon/bug looking thing that just cut his budy in half with one of his 5 foot long scyths for arms while being backed up by millions more of its baby bro's, bigger bro's and even Biggger dad and mom.
I would know, I'm a bulwark main and my 5th psycologist just got a restaining order put on me.

did you know, my favorite things are:
melta rifle on all loadouts
stale bread
water without any ice
the newest codex from gw
aaaand dirt.

Bolter with grenade launcher? Neurons activate.
If you want to use the melta go play the classes with the tools that suit it-Vanguard and Heavy.
bolt rifle and plasma incinerator are just better
So if I want a juice box from Sniper, do I have to tap out an SOS in morse code with my banner or trip over my own purity seals and do the Peter Griffin routine with the knee?
Tactical and bulwark works really well together simply because of the contested health perks. Tactical grants you 30 percent additional contested health recovery and bulwark cuts the depreciation of contested health down by half and can grant 100% contested health with banner. Couple that with a heavy and the group becomes unkillable as long as they have targets to attack
as a Black Templar, I main Bulwalk becouse there isn't an Emperors champion class, sword is sword
Yeah, a class that sort of lets you jump balls deep into the tyranid wood chipper and maybe survive.

If you want to look cool while dying you choose Bulwark. If you want to have fun you choose any other class*

My best guess about the hp restoring from drop pods is that it is somehow related to the base 20% extra hp perk. I figure that refreshing loadout is resetting the perk and pushing hp back to the 20% extra
I've seen some people that share this same sentiment.
As a certified Bulwark player, I can confidently say the blue crayons taste the best

The melta part cracked me up something fierce. Honestly my reaction to anyone who instantly look up guides and metas for games instead of trying things out lol
They want to optimize the fun out of it.

Blown away with the multiplayer atm, struggling my way up the PvE difficulties. The customisation makes it all worth it, oh my Lord who knew a brutal, sci-fi action title has the best dress up game ever conceived by man built in to it. I collect ultramarines but (Mini Marneus sheds a single tear for every match) mainly running my dudes as Imperial Fists, Raven Guard, Raptors or Deathwatch versions of.

I'm really hoping we're introduced to new accessories when the chapter DLCs drop.

Full Health resets on Drop Pods should be for everyone. There are 2 of them in a game and it would be really nice to rely on those as a checkpoint.
I always try to play as a support but it is so infuriating hitting those guys with 3 bloody banners and then they shoot the one guy I wanted to use to regen after giving them all the sodding medkits.
I am very sorry for what I am about to do but the drop pods do not give back health, that unfortunately is a bug that sometimes occurs from time to time
@@Coretide660It doesn’t happen “time to time.” It happens 100% of the time for Bulwark & Heavy with appropriate trait only.
OP knows it’s a bug, they’re saying it should just be how drop pods work. It’s odd that we drop an entire armory with all the extra options you could want, but not a single first aid kit.
Edited: left out that the same effect can happen on heavy’s with the extra health trait
I think it would add some interesting ways to manage resources like health packs.

@@JebblesJunior I've not done tier 3 yet but with randoms it is often a pain on tier 2 with the amount of stimpaks. Especially with greedy people just grabbing everything they see and the Drop Pods would make it so much better and more fun because you don't have to avoid everything that might damage you.
You’re a terrible bulwark if you think the banner is just for you, and not rallying your brothers to victory.
Sure, you CAN use it to run back and help them. Or you can better spend time dragging all the enemies off of them.

When I started playing my first thought was: "Ugh I'll hate playing Bullwark, probably will leave it for last." Then one day while leveling up another class I went into a lobby where none of the classes that I had at lvl 1 where available except bulwark. Well, fellas, I haven't laid any other classes since as log as there's space for a thicc boi

As a vanguard player, we know the melta is stupid overtuned but when all your other primary options are various flavors of asswater, until they release the astartes shotgun it's either run the melta or cosplay as assault with shittier weapon options. (Your assault video did convince me to try assault out and I have been having a blast.)

That's actually going to be one of the biggest points on my Vanguard vid.
@@Darkcerve the occulus and instigator both belong in the sniper. As a combination of the scout, reiver, and lone op lieutenant, the vanguard's primary weapons should be the melta rifle, the shotgun, the Bolt Rifle, and the standard carbine. They should also be able to dual wield combat blades.
I have only played with the Bulwark so far. I have an obsession with playing as tanks. For it felt like the living embodiment of “too angry to die”.
As a heavy main, good bulwarks are a god send compared to the snipers and assault class players I always get that just speed run the mission 😂
After a minute of listening, I realized this is what I needed IRL, not even as the Bulwark that I am IRL as well, just in general...

You can cancel most of your moves if you block not parry but block. Accidentally threw an attack the same time an enemy did? Hold block and dodge or perfect parry. Changed your mind about sprint attacking? Hold block and BOOM! animation canceled
Block cancel chaining sprint attack on power fist is peak gameplay

This is all well and good, until you realize your Bulwark forgot they had a Q key
There have been several recorded instances of this.
Yeah, snipers can set up real nice execute chains, especially great when dealing with chaos marines. With Bulwark rarely needing ammo that means they pair very well with ammo hungry classes.
Generally I'll prioritize banner use for myself unless I see a good opportunity to heal the team, I won't go out of my way to banner res unless I can get good value out of it like a heal and res same time, or double res. The banner seems to bug on elevators so that one big elevator in a chaos mission is basically a no go for banner use, it'll fall through the floor. I might get a tick of the banner before it falls and get contested HP.
Been using powerfist lately and can do lots of sprint attacks to knock a mob down for easy gunstrike follow up.
Just got the perk for more stagger on shield bash, going to try that and see if it'll force those mobs to settle down if they get into an annoying barrage of attacks. Its hard to parry when there is a flurry like that since our parry has about half a second of block at the start which can interrupt the parry (noticeable with balanced weapon).
The original sword variants were admittedly an absolute pain to move on from.
I made my Bulwark a Dark Angel for the following reasons:
Sword
Robes
Sword on a shield
Plasma
Hood
Surly
May help a team mate, probably wont

I pretty much play 3 classes exclusively: Heavy, Assault, and Tactical. Heavy I don’t care who my teammates are I just have a good time and help where I can. Assault I knew there was synergy with bulwark I just couldn’t put it to words like you did. Otherwise I just disrupt with powerfist and use critical strikes. Tactical I like denying reinforcements with scan and using the pulse rifle. I refuse to play the other classes until I max mine out.
I totally agree. But pls don't nerf the melta. 😂Sometimes its rly relaxing to feel like a true son of vulcan with my Salamander Heavy. ^^
If it ever gets nerfed the uproar will be outrageous.
Sweeping sun off of the sidewalk isn’t impossible, just very difficult. I did it once, but it took hours. I wasn’t finished until the sun had gone down, and I started just after lunch. Probably not worth doing again. Ruined my broom.

Most common moments when im maining the bulwark is i outlasted everything, including my teamates.
They told me to stop and help them, but how cant they deal with 1 or 2 big'un while 10 are already on me. I can deal with everything but stupid teamates who can even kill stragglers while i use my face as my shield...
Yeah I tried the melta cause I like them and plasma from the Dawn of War games, but in this game it’s just too brain dead. Glad to see someone giving Assault a fair shake.

My guess is you get rewarded for parying because the bulwark is a bladeguard veteran ( or at least is modeled after one), hence by my somewhat flawed logic that would leave me to believe they are rewarding you for actually getting in there and using that sword 😊

Have you gotten back on helldivers after all the buffs, or have you given up on it already?
I have not. I left because the team kept promising fixes that never came. I was fine with the majority of the weapons.
The timing window for bulwark is different than on tactical I swear to god.
If you are on console, you have to double tap the button for block to parry. Don’t know if that fixes your issue, but it’s something I learned yesterday.

You don’t need invigorating icon, game is currently bugged so rejuvenating effect gives you the full contested health, so you can use the icon perks lot to either get through merciless resolve (being unstaggerable for 5 seconds after a shield bash) or a better options priority if purpose (banner deals damage to enemies) works around the shock buff so. Is you have another thing that damages and controls an area
It will do it occasionally, but not consistently. Some people never even get the bug.
BULWARK STRONK
What the hell was that skill giving full armor on gun strikes? I haven’t seen that yet anywhere
It’s the perk that gives you armor on non-fatal gun strikes, and it gives you a full stack when hitting a boss.

I went sword and board cause rule of cool. It felt dirty using a melta for Vangaurd cause "muh meta." No thanks I will facetank a hive tyrant and laugh the whole time.
