Very important! I am using recycled pen lifters refaced to avoid any soft aftermarket lifters!

Excellent question, I am wondering if they were built to fail.

I'm looking forward to know, even brands that were good are no longer good.

Engine tech camshaft stage 3 camshaft sbc wiped out in 5 minutes of running. I hag a oil leak from a galley plug and had to pull the left head. while the head was off i thought i would see how the lifters were looking. All the intake lifters were junk the faces were strangely pited. The exaust had a diffrent ware to them the outside of them had ware around the edges total garbage. I have been building engines for over 55 years never saw any thing like this.

So sorry to hear this! I have been forced to use recycled own lifters that get refaced so I can avoid this issue, but I’m going to have to find a source for acceptable aftermarket ones eventually.
