Long time, no see! I am finally back with another cover for you all, and this time it is none other than Baldur's Gate 3! I've been listening to the OST lately and found some real gems~
The source track for this is pretty short at around 1 minute long... I wanted to extend it a bit by adding a B section and then build up to the grand return to the A section once more. I watched the cutscene where this track plays and I imagined what it could've sounded like if the actual cutscene sequence itself was a bit longer and even more dramatic. I'm pretty happy with the results!
I'm sure most of you thought this would be a cover of Down by the River, and I do want to cover it! But there have been SO many amazing renditions already that I want to make sure mine stands out in a unique way. No idea how I'm going to do that, but I will figure it out eventually!
I might not be able to get a spooky cover up for Halloween, which is so sad since I feel like I have the most fun when I make Halloween covers. Work is just crazy right now and I am still figuring out how to balance everything. I guess that's true adulting, huh?

Man, someone needs to put together a mod of all of these wonderful covers! (Not sure how that would work regarding permission and copyright but a man can dream). Imagine exploring to this version of the Night Song. Or one of the rock versions of Down by the River pops on while you're in a fight. Love this cover!

I am not in touch with hot new game releases like I used to be, but everyone has been doing Baldur's Gate 3 covers and I gather it must be a hell of a soundtrack. So cool to see all the different songs and styles. It's been a minute since I've seen one of your videos, but that hair ribbon brings me right back to the "Teraverse." I like your decision to sidescroll the windows at one point in order to show all of the different parts you are performing. I don't remember seeing that on your channel before. It's the kind of thing that I think could become cheesy if it were done too often, but here it caught me totally by surprise and made the piece more powerful by making it feel bigger and more grand. Good video design!

I love the term "Teraverse" haha. I know it's been a while, I've missed doing covers the past few months!
The side scroll video thing was something I felt would enhance that section even more and complement the audio there too. I think the last time I did that technique was for Schala's Theme back in 2019? I'm not sure if I've done it since that video. I agree though! I don't want to use that technique too often because it can get stale very quickly.

@@Josh_Fredman That is still in progress! It's hard to find time to work on the game and the music now that I'm doing QA full-time at my company. But it will get there, eventually! I think the only other track that's pretty much done (but not yet released) is the Night version of Frostlyn.
