I love ME3, KoTOR, and other incredible TTRPG's, Fallout 1-4 are a hoot and a half in their own ways. But I seriously think BG3 has become my favorite game of all time now and I'm still VERY attached to my childhood game of KoTOR and Mass Effect. I thought it'd be vaporware, I bought EA the moment they announced an actual release date as I despise EA content. Everything anything Larian does in the future I will gladly buy EA the moment it hits the market if 1/3 of the games end up never being made I do not care, worth it. Game of a Generation.
BG3 is the game of the decade. Many triple-AAA studios hate BG3 because it showed everyone that a small, passionate development team can take on billion-dollar giants like EA and Sony. For anyone who loves BG3 and is looking for something new (old) to play, I recommend "Divinity Original Sin 2". It is also from Larian and is the spiritual predecessor of BG3.
@@DieGurke_ I absolutely love Larion and BG3 but just as a point of order it's not really a "small" team. The development team was approximately 450 people. Which is commensurate with most other similiar games (Starfield about 450, RDR2 about 500 etc)
@@codyvandal2860 Yes but No. Starfiled (Bugthesda) or RDR2(Rockstar ) had huge Budgets/Companies behind them. Larians does not have the Kind of Money that Rockstar or Bugthesda have to develop a game

Bold move for Larian to make The Player Custom’s theme (Weather it be Tav or DUrge) not a confident and certain one, but a proclamation of Fear and Dread as their clocks tick down from the parasite within, and death from it could come at any second.
as a big Astarion fan and romancer, this song hits hard. I know it can relate to a lot of characters but I link it to him the most and god does it hurt. I cried when I listened to the lyrics for the fist time. He deserves the world💗💗
I thought it referred to a resisting Dark Urge, but yeah, Astarion would fit too - as would Wyll and Karlach. Somehow they all did things, they are not proud of and tried to get out of different kind of bindings.
@@fylimar "I feel your breath, upon my neck, a soft caress, as cold as death." "Your blood like wine, I wanted in. Oh darling get me drunk, Invite me in!" yea no, this is an astarion song. Neil Newbon also confirmed it himself.
I just wanted to say that as someone who has struggled with depression for most of their adult life, this song feels so especially powerful and so succinctly puts into words emotions I have felt so often, turning to casual hookups just to try and feel something. Even just the title of the song really hits hard. The fact that a song for a video game can resonate with my own personal emotions is so surprising and I just wanted to thank you for composing and recording it.
As a sex worker, yes, casual hookups are fun and a temporary relief, but deeper relationships are so much more. Please keep chasing what makes you whole and reaching out. Astarion's storyline made me re-consider for a bit how my own sexual encounters have made me numb to the importance of sex in a relationship, but in the end, I'm not a 239 year old elven vampire spawn.
Some composers and devs seems to just be made for each other. The song wouldnt be that good if i didnt play the game and the game wouldnt hit as hard without this song. Such strong combination
This song deeply resonates with me. It felt like it was written for my Tav specifically. Then I listened to it from the perspectives of the origin characters and it works for them too. What is a metaphor for one is literal for the other, and vice versa. Thank you for this song!
I was romancing Astarion with my Durge and at the camp on the road to Baldur's gate I found this awesome view of the city in the distance. I took Astarion there for a kiss scene and suddenly this song started playing and I sat there 10 minutes getting emotional over how perfect it fit :')
Borislav, I don't know if you still read comments on a 3 year old video lol. I just found BG3 a couple months ago. I'm a 48 year old woman who had a rough childhood and only music saved me. I've had the same favorite song since 1984. That song has held the top spot and never been challenged in all these years. THIS song has dethroned it decisively. I listen to this song on repeat all day, it .... I don't know how to put it... it makes my soul vibrate? You are truly the master musician, and I can't think of anyone more fitting for the role of the god of music in the game. On the deepest level, I thank you for this gift.
I love how each song in this game applies to individual characters but also to things you do in the game. Like, this is about Astarion for sure, but it also sounds like it's about the struggle the characters go through with their tadpoles and how they just want to survive despite the fact that their time is running out.
@@DractonisI have to second XIV having an incredible soundtrack! Flow is a work of art as far as I'm concerned. But BG3 is also incredibly epic in every way

Just discovered this song at the beginning of Act 3 in the camp "lookout". Got near the edge of the camp to look at the city and this song played for the first time. Never knew about it before. Left me speechless.
My world of warcraft guild leader introduced me to this song and now it's gotten me into BG3, possibly into trying to play an instrument again (if I could find tabs or sheet music that sounded accurate), and the line "There's more to do if we can only live" is probably going to be my mantra through winter depression.
I heard this music and vocals play in camp! I was so surprised with this level of detail that Larian inserted this at camp. I was so enthralled and finally found it in youtube. I don't know if anyone else heard this song at camp? I don't think everyone will. Don't know how I triggered it. But Im so excited more than ever to play the full release of the game. I've played as a Paladin during the demo, and now feel more excited than ever now that I have gained so much more experience and understanding of the mechanics, skills, spells and features of the game. I even went and listened in youtube about the Forgotten Realms landmarks, lores, and characters for greater immersion! I'm so ready to kick ass when the game comes out!
Can hear the tune but not the vocals until I went to the rock behind Lae´zels tent. Had played over 150 hours at that point so was a pleasant surprise :)
I triggered it at the end of Act 2 when the party makes the camp overlooking Baldur's Gate down below. While I was putsing about chatting to my companions the instrumental was playing but by the time I found a cliff edge that gave great views of the city at night doiwn below the lyrics suddenly swelled. Had to of been of purpose. So much dopamine in that small moment as the games when they released when I was younger meant so (too?) much to me.

Playing this song on repeat...so beautiful and now nostalgic as well. As far as I remember this song is about the players character no? I know you can apply it to many characters (from what I saw people are mainly saying it's about Astarion), but everytime I hear it, I remember my character and I try to imagine what a person like that might be feeling when they are alone in their tent at night, thinking about all that's happened and all that is still going to happen. A person that's gone through all these hardships, obsticales, met friends and lovers on the way, helped people, experienced joy, sadness, anger, excitement and love, what are they thinking? Even if they are a part of me projected onto a videogame character, I still see them as a separate entity, a dear friend whom I escorted on this journey. ...It's a weird feeling, am I alone in feeling like this?? XD
Still remember hearing this version the first time I finished BG3. I sat back and just thought "damn that was epic. What an incredible journey." Can't wait to see the next game by Larian Studios.

Here after Baldur's Gate 3 swept the Game Awards last night. "Game of the Year" does not do this experience justice. The soundtrack and characters will stay with me for a very, very long time, thank you so much for your work
They were robbed of the soundtrack award. This music is far above any other I’ve experienced in a game

Borislav just said on Twitter this is the Player's Theme, it's ours in general.
How is it not about a vampire tho
@@kkurova9345 It IS about a vampire. the vampire is a metaphor for our approaching death at the hands of the parasite.
allegedly it only plays behind Astarion's tent which is very intentional. It's not as though you have a tent for Tav that plays when you enter
@@LeyliaFireheart Actually the theme plays in various places that you can stand throughout the game, you can even hear it right at the very beginning of Act 3, more specifically on the cliff when you go down the ladder and take a left and get a nice view of the city, Jaheira is in the back.
@@LeyliaFireheartnope not true
Bold move for Larian to make The Player Custom’s theme (Weather it be Tav or DUrge) not a confident and certain one, but a proclamation of Fear and Dread as their clocks tick down from the parasite within, and death from it could come at any second.
as a big Astarion fan and romancer, this song hits hard. I know it can relate to a lot of characters but I link it to him the most and god does it hurt. I cried when I listened to the lyrics for the fist time. He deserves the world💗💗
his personal quest really hammers this song in
When it talks about breath on your neck and blood like wine, yeah, it's about Astarion.
Rest in peace to your considerably lackluster gaming experience 😔
I thought it referred to a resisting Dark Urge, but yeah, Astarion would fit too - as would Wyll and Karlach. Somehow they all did things, they are not proud of and tried to get out of different kind of bindings.

This is freaking amazing, love the style
Please do a cover of this song. I want to listen this with your voice.
& your style cool too, nice to see you here! ;) :)
Being an oldtime gamer i can assure you you won t find a score for a videogame such as great as this one....

You give Larian games life, I can't imagine DoS: 2 or BG3 without your masterful scores. You deserve all the praises for such brilliant music, your scores have a phenomenal range; they can have the quaint of Jeremy Soule, and the fast paced feeling of battle similar to JRPG composers like Uematsu and Mitsuda. I can express the feelings I had when I was chilling in camp and hear this play after a while. The emotion this song provokes leaves me in awe
It's so beautiful...I'm speechless, I'm sitting here crying. Thank you, it´s really wonderful
When I finsihed the game and the credits were rolling , this song started playing and mannnn I was just sitting there in reflection thinking what a beautiful game I just played and saying thanks for it whilst this beautiful song played making me feel grateful,
Sad it ended but forever thankful it begun . Much love larian studios
This song motivated me to start a new playthrough with Astarion as the MC. Truly a wonderful game.
Currently my favorite, I hear it play in the camp. Totally renders me unable to leave the camp untill it ends, this song is so captivating.
Honestly, BG3 has the best sound track I've heard in my life.
The first time I saw Astarion I thought: "for sure he's the main villain or that character you're going to hate".
To move on to: "I would die for you"
I haven't played Baldur's Gate 3 yet, so I don't really have the context... But maaan, this song just gets me so emotional. This song is so, SO beautiful, the lyrics so powerful and enchanting, the singers stellar.
Listening to this song on a loop non-stop - beautiful work ❤🎶
Larian Studios should comission you for future games man. I can't get enough of that Tambura sound, and you did a sterling job.
This is so incredibly sad and beautiful. I haven't been able to get it out of my head for the past couple of days.
The lyrics, if you are looking for them:
---------------------
man
---------------------
I feel your breath upon my neck
a soft caress as cold as death
I didn't know you well back then
I blame it all on [luck and bane]
Your blood like wine
I wanted in
but darling, get me drunk and make me feel
It's not my fault
I'm not to blame
These ain't my sins
I broke my chains
There's more to do
and I still want to live.
---------------------
woman
---------------------
I feel your breath
upon my neck
a soft caress
as cold as death
I feel your heart
beat in my soul
our futures bound,
our bodies known
Your blood like wine
I wanted in
Oh darling get me drunk and bite me
It's not my fault
I'm not to blame
These ain't my sins
I broke my chains
There's more to do
if I can only live
I can't go yet
Don't let me die
I'll never stop
Until I'm done
But just tonight
maybe I'll rest in peace
---------------------
both
---------------------
I feel your breath
upon my neck
a soft caress
as cold as death
I hear your heart
beat in my soul
our endings bound,
our bodies known
I can't go yet
Don't let me die
I want to live
My only one
There's more to do
if we can only live
The clock won't stop
and this is what we get

This music is a powerful masterpiece of sadness and sorrow.
As is Astarion.
Thank you Boris, Ilona, Ivaylo, Victor, Sildar, Sarah.

This song, "down by the river" and "raphael final´s act" are on my top list of favorite songs of all time :) I love them so much, thank you for this Borislav Slavov!! This Game is a very important part of my life now :) already purchased my vinyl ost and can´t wait to have it!!!!!
Listening this after finishing Astarion story line is heartbreaking, I'm crying so hard. This song is so perfect if you romance him.
OH DANG. I'm not normally a fan of soundtracks with vocals but this is FIRE! The quicker pace really lights it up! Love it!
Just discovered this song at the beginning of Act 3 in the camp "lookout". Got near the edge of the camp to look at the city and this song played for the first time. Never knew about it before. Left me speechless.
I’m literally crying, this music is so beautiful ♥️
I get goosebumps everytime I hear this song, no game soundtrack has ever struck such a feeling in me. When I heard this song for the first time at camp and just looked around, I literally almost teared up.
@0:30 I think the singer flips the lyrics on accident! "I didn't know you back well then" instead of "I didn't know you well back then" Still a beautiful song! It's been stuck in my head for days and i literally did a double take while listening along with the lyrics. lol
You're right! The Spotify version of the song has fixed the lyrics xD
Damn the use of ticking clock sounds with the theme of wanting to live....dangit. This is a masterpiece. Thank you so much for sharing sir!

i cannot stop listening to this! the lyrics are mesmerizing, and the vocals alongside this arrangement breathe new life into a song i already loved so much. i feel blessed to have your music in my life! this game's score is shaping up to be an all-time favorite. 🧡
XD
nope, i can feel that too even if I am just starting to play it. It has a strong realistic feeling to it, i just cant get rid of.
