I didn't know this was an actual thing. I've been doing this for awhile now :0. And for the people that are saying it makes your lips look bad...well it is a close up of her lips. It doesn't actually look like that in person. It also blends together after awhile too. I actually think the gradient lip looks very pretty.

Melinda Widjaja I have no idea what stuff she is using. I just know I've been doing this before I knew gradient lips were a thing. I just use a lipstick that matches my skin on my lip line and then line outside my lip with foundation or concealer. Then I use a natural base color and a splash of color where the parting of my lips are and blend. And that's it. It's very pretty and natural compared to just red lipstick, although that looks pretty too.
+Primrose Cuaycong I like to use nude lipstick and foundation, too (sometimes I finish it with lip gloss). They blend better than lip concealer in this vid :)
I think natural-looking gradient lip already around for a long time, but korean wave popularized it again.
Honestly I think this only looks good on some people. When I try doing a gradient lip people asked me why is my lipstick all messed up lol.

Yes, but gradient lips also can make your lips look bigger too, but you must use 2 lipstick with different shades (one is brighter, one is darker) and overline your lips

+Cobalt Crystal I think they're talking about Etude house's lip concealer, I liked the second to the last look the best, but the first one did look a bit cakey towards the outer thirds of the lips. I think this was due to the concealer not color matching to the girl's lips. I personally like the gradient lip look, but some of these tutorials for it look cakey due to the concealer that the girls put on their lips, its a good things selfies arent this close like in the video, you wont even notice it in pictures. xD I also think that its a good thing to smile (with your teeth closed) in order to prevent lip gloss/tint from grouping up in the wrinkles in the lines (and it doesn't pull on your lips>

How to gradient lips:
*Only apply the liptint in the inner area of your lips*
THEN blend outwards! It’ll look like u actually have very tiny lips if u only apply them on the inner part without blending.
Then the outlines of your lips are dark af.
I actually do that then i apply foundation around my lips😂😂😂

You can still try the gradient lip by instead of covering the lips with concealer, you can you a lighter coloured liptint on all of the lips and a darker, more pigmented lip tint on just the centre. Then, you won't necessarily make your lips look any thinner!
I used to do the gradient in my lips a lot, because it looks like a petal and I found it cute. Until I noticed my lips looked thinner and I haven't done it since then 😀😂😂 but thin lips can be beautiful, many asians (and probably other races) love thin lips

I feel like you shouldn't need alot of foundation, concealer, etc. Just put lipstick/lip gloss on the middle part of your lips and then rub your lips together. Trust me, it works like a charm❤

The lip concealer never looks smooth on my lips no matter how much I moisturize them. I’m not using the same brand of concealer but ugh it’s frustrating at times

AnimuAndPhanTrash I'm not sure if it's that you don't own any foundation or concealer atm or if you have very fair skin but I know that if you have very fair skin you can use a very light matte eyeshadow (no shimmer) instead of concealer
