this might be my favorite episode yet! the play in this video is far beyond my level, but seeing inside your mind during an aggressive attack is so fascinating and instructive. thanks for the videos :)
I love the way you explain stuff. Like when you were explaining the logic behind where to move your light square bishop that was attacked by pawn in first game. So many chess UA-camrs just don’t explain stuff at all cause they assume people know it but let’s be honest most of us aren’t that high rated. Sometimes it can be hard under time trouble and I get that though. Thanks Eric for another good video.
Thanks Eric. I enjoyed that and no mouse slips today either! I like the way we often get a theme. It's instructive to learners how you take the time to review games; where mistakes were made, turning points etc.
You can always make a study of those games on lichess and input lines Eric is calculating - or better yet make it an interactive lesson where you have to find the best move.
Been loving this series! So incredibly helpful, thank you Eric!! I started watching when it began, but fell behind having to focus on a big project deadline. Still working to catch up but sneaking in the new episodes 👀
I love this series! In the second game, after 24. a3 I spotted Rb4!! I didn't fully calculate it while watching, but the rook could not be taken by either a or c pawns due to the mate threat and pin, respectively. It threatens Rxh4 and Ra4 making things pretty uncomfortable for white's king.
First game was really instructive to me. I play the Rasa Studier against the Caro-Kann and it's interesting how a lot of the same tactical ideas can come from the Two Knights Attack. Considering a switch for a more solid game at higher levels. Thanks for the content!
Maybe at the head of an upcoming episode, you could explain how a speed run works? When does it end? After "three strikes"? Or? What is the point of Speed Run accounts, etc? Just an idea!
Hi Eric, great content as always. I don't remember you playing the Vienna for white (the gambit ofc). Any particular reason for that or I've just missed it somehow?
I love when I find things like Ba4 in the second game and wonder why an IM didn’t play it.. then in their review they say it was best and missed it.. happened a few times recently. :)
Wasn't queen takes knight c3 a much better move in the last game, getting a free knight, with no good checks left for white and a checkmate in 1 threat?
What I was thinking and is the second best move by engine, it does win an exchange by encouraging white to take the knight. Eric's Rd7 wins a queen as the engine gives Nc5 Re7 and just gives up the queen with Nxe4, moving the queen leads to the tricks Eric was showing with Nh6+ Kh8 Rxg7 much fancier tactics than our simple winning an exchange.
So, I love this series, but have to ask... when is the mission complete? I'd think a 2100 is already a master. Are you going to go for a title on your speedrun account?
Good games... In the last one, instead of trading queens, should have taken the knight with the queen, threatening Queen to A1 mate, and forcing white to trade queens after loosing the knight. Not that it mattered, the game was over anyway.
I'm a much weaker player, about 750 at 10 minute, and while I can follow the play, the thinking is mostly beyond me. A lot of the considerations are positional rather than immediately tactical. It is amusing to see an opponent who styles themselves "Mr. Blunder..." with a rating of 2123. They cannot blunder very often...
it feels unethical just beating up on amateurs who didn’t sign up for it at no risk to the master because not playing from his own account. When I face a GM for the first time I want to know so that I’m giving it my best and not using experimental openings I’d hate to find out I was robbed of that moment. if I’m on a winning streak it’s not fun at all to have it ruined I’m not the only one that feels the whole thing is sugar coated cheating
@@Jj82op but taking the knight with queen forces the queen trade while not losing the bishop, because white doesn't have any good checks and if the queen moves anywhere to avoid the trade without check it's mate in one
Mr. Blunder 2022. The ONE YEAR I didn't claim the title and this guy's parading it all over town. Sheesh.
this might be my favorite episode yet! the play in this video is far beyond my level, but seeing inside your mind during an aggressive attack is so fascinating and instructive. thanks for the videos :)
"It feels very close to being very good" I love your wording!

Love your content Eric! Always waiting for new videos from you! Wishing you a happy fall and much luck in whatever tournament you head to next!
I'm shocked at the level of joy this series brings me. Thank you!

Game two I liked - like a pirate ship grappling on to another and sending it's crews over to fight with swords - great game
Eric Rosen... the Errol Flynn of chess.
I love this description lol. Eric does have a fittingly irreverent and playful vibe. A pirate, but the wholesome harmless festival kind XD
like a pirate?
LIKE A YAKUZA PIRATE IN HAWAII?
Thanks!
The tactics and calculations got above what i could ever hope to see this video.

"Sacrificing the rook" felt like Cary Elwes in Liar Liar. 'you're scared of the claw!'
sacrifice the rook
Finally caught up with the speed run to be able to catch a new episode, I'm loving the content Eric!
I truly enjoy watching you play. Thanks for keeping this series interesting!
I have to say your time management is amazing now! Thank you and keep it up !

Thank you for this series and for all the streams. You are my favourite chess personality.
Maybe if I were stockfish I'd find that, lol
Or Professor Wumpus?
I really like how you find so many possibilities in a different positions.

Eric new subscriber here. I really enjoy any Sicilians you play as it is an opening where all knowledge is welcome. Keep up the great work!

Love this series, the wait is over!
The second game was my favorite. Thanks Eric!
We are watching you all over the world. Thx 100 times!!!

Really nice attacking games, Eric!

Eric that shirt needs an England football badge
13:00 Bd6 trapping the rook?
i think that would lead to the queen taking the pawn, knight, and bishop

Actually Rd3 crossed my mind in the first game as a candidate move
That mouse slip was painful last game.

2100 is not even a Candidate Master.
new outcome category needed for your 1 mouse slip
I love your content:)
Instructive vid. Interesting thing was that in the time I watched 78 people liked.
Three more bangers for the run! Well done sir 👍
In the second game, why din the opponent just take the pawn on b3 with the king near the end?
Do a 1. d4 speedrun next!
After 12 days I was jonesing pretty badly.
Nice dragon game
Attack before the enemy attacks!
Calm killer.
we're back!
2nd game...Q e5 check

ah the blundertaker!
For me 2knights complicated because little too much theory even if I play correct five moves I forget 6and it's all over
I think Eric took a few days off to lick his wound from last episode.

2knights too complicated line for lover player there is more simple line against caro it leads to simple positions
In the first game how does a good player play so badly in the opening?
Omg yes 💋💋💋💋💋💋💋 keesies for you Eric ❤❤❤❤❤

first
18:58 did you have e5 here?
No because of the discovery Nf5, black can't take on b2 anymore
22:47 disclaimer, i'm a noob but i'd play queen e5 here
oh he prepared for e3, scratch that
Can't you win the knight too? 40:53
3:44 i was surprised by bb3, seemed like d3 had more chances and threatened e5 with tempo. im 900 elo btw
40:55 can't you take the knight for free?
I though so too but trading queens will make finishing the game easier.
@@Jj82op but taking the knight with queen forces the queen trade while not losing the bishop, because white doesn't have any good checks and if the queen moves anywhere to avoid the trade without check it's mate in one
9:18 I say that everyday
Lol. That's awful, but I laughed.

I want to make dad hat merch for Eric ya know
