Amen, I'm from nearby, Michigan. Another gorgeous state. Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota are 3 unique northern western states. Lots of fresh water activities. And multitudes of wildlife . We love our 4 seasons, even deep snow and cold winters. Weather never keeps us from loving the outdoors . And Midwesterners are notoriously friendly. ☮️👍🇺🇸

Minneapolis isn't the real America. You have to get out of the big cities to see what it really is. Haven't been back for a few years since the riots and defunding police issues. Lots of people left the area to surrounding states after covid.
I was born and raised in St Paul but live in Shoreview now. It was an interesting tour of MN and other states to get here though. lol. Minneapolis is indeed the most known though. To our host.
Minneapolis was the flour milling capital of the world in the 19th and 20th centuries. The reason that so many flour mills built there was because the mills were using the power of St. Anthony Falls on the Mississippi river.
Im front St Louis Park Minnesota its a suburb right outside Minneapolis and I love Minnesota our state is very great and so is our wildlife and cities. ❤
Grew up in Minnesota and lived in Minneapolis for 10 years. If you can tolerate the cold winters then Minnesota is an awesome place to live. Forests, lakes, prairies, and the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul generally have less crime and pollution that the majority of urban areas. Minneapolis was just ranked as the most bike-friendly large urban area in the USA.
bro less crime in the Cities then the urban areas? WTF are you talking about? maybe go to lake street between 12pm and 5an and let me know how it works out for ya🤣
@@danhard8440 they said most other areas. If you would look at the other major US cities. The Twin Cities has a lower crime rate than places like New York, Los Angeles, or Atlanta.
Ummmm didn't they burn a lot of the city for months during the "summer of love?" Yeah, I believe that's true, because your governor's wife said that she used to open the windows to smell the burning tires, because it reminded her of change!
Also, urban is another name for city! No wonder things are the.... nevermind, it's not even worth it at this point. Good luck in Minneapolis. Please stay there!
I live in St. Paul, Minnesota--the other "twin" in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis. I grew up in Southern California and moved here in 2009. I have NO plans to leave this beautiful place. It's gorgeous, clean, soulful, artsy, and trendy, with good neighbors, great music and lots and lots of amazing food.
Glad you are here. CA isn't bad either. Just more crowded and more busy. I have several relatives there, including one that is the proud parent of a Rhodes Scholar.
Minneapolis and St Paul..the Twin Cities..are the best. Minneapolis was voted to be happiest city in the country. And unlike other downtowns it's very clean. We brought friends from down South to downtown Mpls And they were amazed at how clean Minneapolis is. I'm the 10 blocks we walked they only saw one cigarette butt on the ground. No trash. Amazing people also. AND THE VIKINGS!💜🏈💛
Have lived just 30 minutes from Minneapolis in MN my entire life. The sky ways between the buildings are mostly so you don't have to go outside in the cold Mninsota Winters and Hot Humid Summers to travel between buildings. By cold Minnesota winters, the temperature can reach -40F and for those that didn't know -40 is the same in F and C. There can be many days in a row that the temp doesn't go above 0 F (-17C) The recorded highest and lowest temps in Minnesota Highest Temperature 115 °F (46.1 °C) Beardsley Lowest Temperature −60 °F (−51.1 °C) Tower
I'm in Eveleth, so about 30 miles away from Tower - life went on as normal on that chilly February day 😂 I worked at Target at the time & we were open regular hours. The miners were out there working in the coldest hours too. I have relatives from Oregon who can't believe we function up here on the Range when it's crazy cold outside.
@@hollyheikkinen4698 Yeah, life might get a little slower, starting your car 15 minutes before you leave on that 5 minute drive to the store or work, but life goes on. Living in Minnesota or other places like it, you have to watch the forecast for the next day in the winter, to see if you have to leave early for work. Knowing traffic will be slower than usual or plan your day based on the snow fall. Getting your groceries today instead of waiting until tomorrow when it's suppose to be horrible out.
@@sin4rent277 I worked at the Northwest Airlines call center in Chisholm - I did my training in April & became a full time employee in May 1996. I live 22 miles away from the call canter. We were expected to be on time regardless of the weather - you could get fired for being late or an unexcused absence 3 times within the year. We were even expected to take calls from offices that were closed due to weather - Seattle's office would close for ice, but we had a blizzard or ice storm on the same day & were expected to be there on time "because we are used to the weather conditions". Seattle seemed to get ice storms frequently, so they should have been under the same expectations as we were - but they weren't. People are always surprised that our schools don't close once it gets well below zero. Kids even go outside for recess until it's down to about -25°F or so. In more recent years, the schools have been adjusting the temperature levels, but I remember being outside playing regardless of how cold it was outside at school & at home. We had the community skating rink in our yard & the sledding hill was next to my grandparents house (which was across the road from my parents house) & we were out there. We had so many layers on we could barely move some days, but we were outside.
Spoonbridge and Cherry is a sculptural fountain designed by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. It was funded by a $500,000 donation from art collector Frederick R. Weisman and is permanently located in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. - Wikipedia. Note that crazy art museum is named after Weisman. The building's architect is world-renowned designer Frank Gehry. He also did among many things, the "Dancing House" in Prague.
Swedish-American sculptor Claes Oldenburg was famous for creating a number of whimsical oversized sculptures in the 1960s and 1970s: such as giant soft French Fries spilling out of a carton, an enormous soft, motorized ice bag, and a giant, droopy, soft household fan.
Long-time watcher living in Minneapolis here! I fell in love with Mpls in 2013 and moved here permanently because of the vibe, the beauty, and it is super safe compared to other cities I had lived in. This video didn't have time to explore the chain of lakes or the Minnehaha waterfall that are all within the city limits and super accessible to anyone in the city. Also the best bicycling infrastructure in the nation. The winters can be pretty brutal but that's easily fixed by owning good winter gear. Heck, I try to live a "car-free lifestyle" and am able to thrive through the winters easily enough. I love your content and don't forget to check out more videos about Minneapolis and our twin, St. Paul, because this one barely scratched the surface!
The centers of Minneapolis and St Paul are about 10 miles apart and each are in the 300 to 400k range in population. What is unique about the twin cities is that the metro area is about 60 miles north to south and 70 miles wide. The combined population is just short of 4 million. It's a huge suburban bedroom metro area.. There is about 5-7 rings of suburbs, with many in the 50-90,000 population size. There are 2 bad weeks of winter, but the rest of the winter is highly embraced in outdoor sports and activities. Spring, Summer and Fall are amazing with the distinct seasonal changes. Driving is easy to navigate due to the size of the area. Dining, Sporting events, Entertainment, and the Arts are at a supreme level. Minneapolis is often referred as the Mini-Apple due to it's similarities to NYC (other than size). Mpls has a large international airport making travel easy. Many Fortune 500 companies call this home, and has a very intelligent population draw on for employees. It's a treat to live here. I;m 20 miles from downtown, and it's easy get into Mpls for a baseball game.
Minneapolis suburb native here. Spent much, much of my life in Minneapolis. Ask anything you want! It really is a beautiful area. The "Twin Cities" of Minneapolis and Saint Paul are like no other pair of adjacent cities.

I’m in Minneapolis, and I love it! The spoon bridge and cherry is iconic. It’s sculpture art. We have a vibrant art scene. Jucy Lucy is spectacular. Eat cautiously. They are molten lava at first! The lakes are amazing, and Minnehaha Falls is a beautiful waterfall right there in the city. There are walking trails and parks all over the city. We are in the middle of the country, so most people ignore the fact that we exist. If you ever make it here, please explore the rest of the state. It’s stunning in the variety of landscapes and history. ❤️
I live in Minnesota, grew up here. Worked in Minneapolis. Minnesota used to be the bread basket of America. My dad worked for IDS back in the day. The Twin Cities has a lot to see, experience.
I live in Downtown Minneapolis! It’s a beautiful city. The spoon cherry is iconic. I drive by it all the time. It’s actually a sculpture garden and fountain outside of a big art museum. The meaning behind it is finding beauty in everyday objects. Like a kitchen spoon. There are other sculptures there too. Winter is very brutal- -30F actual temps and the wind cills even worse! Thats why we have skyways. Jucy Lucy’s are the best! Foshay Tower was the first skyscraper in Minneapolis but it is only about 1/2 the size of a couple of other modern skyscrapers downtown. It is a very underrated city. Lots of unique restaurants, art museums, theaters, lakes, bike trails and so much more. Lots of lake’s are right near downtown, so smack dab in the city. A good time to visit is May-Oct. weather is usually good!
As a long-time Prince fan, I was thrilled to visit my grandmother-in-law near Minneapolis one Thanksgiving. We drove by Paisley Park (Prince's home and recording studio), and did some shopping downtown with the indoor walkways between buildings. What I remember most is how cold it was. About 9F degrees (-13C). It hurt to breathe! A lovely town!
Previously worked for a company which did a lot of business with Paisley Park Studios. The one and only time I had a chance to go to the studio, Prince wasn't there. Darn. Had a bf who went to HS with Prince so was fun to hear tales of 'I knew him when.' LOL
The spoon and cherry sculpture was commissioned for the Walker Art Museum back in the 80's as Wikipedia tells me lol. Minnesota is well known for their harsh winters, though our last winter was the mildest in history and was really nice, but it's quite common to have many days between -14 - -30 Also, the reason why they didn't see many people in downtown Minneapolis is because it's primarily a business district, so unless you work there, people will seldom go out there to hangout
Minnesota is famous for having many people immigrate from Sweden. Minnesota is also famous for having a strong Minnesota Accent when people from there speak.
I had never thought we had a noticeable enough accent to flag.. but my sister lived in California for a bit and they noticed her slightly elongated O's and then my uncle who I've known and spoken to my whole 34 years of life sounded normal to me until he was interviewed on TV and he sounded THE MOST MINNESOTAN I've ever heard. lol. Myself, though, I've kinda made it a joke to say things like "Ohh, you betcha" on purpose.. lol
@@xDarkTrinityx Perhaps in the city metropolitan Minneapolis maybe more cosmopolitan with less of a strong accent but I am sure if you go outside to the more rural suburbs you would hear the Minnesota accent more strongly. When you say "about" does it sound like "aboat"? 😃
My great grandparents came from Norway and Sweden and both have very strong Uf 'da accents. I didn't realize that I had an accent until I moved to California And they instantly asked if I was from Minnesota. Ope!
@@leonstrand329 yes that is what is the case in many states with strong accents.. The city metropolitan areas have less of an accent and the strong accents come out in the rural areas. Yes exactly
Hello from Minneapolis! I live close to Matt’s and often enjoy a delicious Jucy Lucy. I have lived all over the US, West Coast, East Coast , the South and I prefer Minneapolis, even with the somewhat harsh winters.
went to matt's. had the juicy lucy. it was ok. overpriced and uninspired. i'm 78 and used to have them in Texas when i was a kid. they were old even back then. we called them "inside out burgers".
Transplant to MN in 2008. The winters can be a bit much. But, overall I appreciate the great restaurants, theater, Mall of America, Duluth, light rail and Amtrak, airport is great. Now live in NW suburbs. Really like it here! And - don't forget Prince!
I moved to Minneapolis in 2000 and love it here! Yes, the winters are very cold, but everything is set up so that it's not that hard to deal with. We have such a vibrant and diverse city with amazing food from all our immigrant communities! One of my favorite facts about the city is that in Minneapolis, the law requires that a certain amount of space around every lake MUST be public parkland, so while there are huge, expensive houses surrounding our gorgeous lakes, everyone in the city can take advantage of them, not just the rich.
70s 80s and 90s were the best in Minneapolis all the great department stores in the Christmas festivities in the eighth floor Dayton’s Christmas auditorium display are all gone. So I haven’t been downtown Minneapolis in a long time.
I’m in Minneapolis, and it’s an awesome place! ❤ It might amuse you to know that every 11-12 years, the cherry is painted. This time, they took it off the spoon to paint it, and it made the news because people wanted to know where it went.
A lot of people don't know it, but the "city of lakes" was once home to the "Minneapolis Lakers" basketball team which was pretty good in the 1950s but moved to Los Angeles in 1963. They used to play in the Armory in downtown Minneapolis, a very cool building which is now a concert venue. I'm a 40 year resident of Minneapolis and used to be a rideshare driver. It was fun educating visitors about my city.
Hello from Anoka, Minnesota, "the Halloween Capital of the World"!! Spent my childhood in the suburbs of Lake Minnetonka and Mound, the "water baby" that I was, swimming in the lakes in summer and ice skating on the lakes in winter. My father worked for a grain elevator company and got "brown lung" and was ordered by doctors to move to a warmer climate, so off to Dallas we went. Spent 20 years in Texas and as everything in life that goes around comes around, I came back to Minnesota. Lived in Uptown, a section of Minneapolis well known for art festivals, worked in downtown Minneapolis, but now retired in Anoka, a suburb twenty minutes north of Minneapolis. I was really surprised your tour hosts didn't mention the world-famous First Avenue nightclub in downtown Minneapolis or the iconic rock legend Prince, who made Minneapolis famous, he lived in the suburb of Minneapolis called Chanhassen, just twenty minutes south of the city. Thank you for your video and hope you come to visit us sometime (but better make it in the spring or summer)... blessings.
The hotel hallway installation in the Weisman is one of the most compelling art pieces I've ever seen. It incorporates sight, sound, and smell into a really unique setting, simultaneously sleazy, commonplace, and sublime.
Minneapolis my home away from home. I love the obersrvation deck of the Foshay, it's got a neat little museum up there too. Minneapolis is one of the most famous in Minnesota. Another one if you can find a video of it would be Duluth. That city is amazing too. The spoon and cherry, weird to us too. Minneapolis also has an amazing theater community. Minnesota is very Midwest, the weather is almost Candian, it can be pretty cold but even in the depths of winter there's a lot of fun outdoor stuff to do. Dress warmly.
Nah lol😂 as Scandinavian American here most of us are not blonde hair here and if we are all blonde hair blue eyes because of American stereotype lol I bet you like marry those for our genetic 😂
And if you ever hear someone from Wisconsin trying to pretend like they have more, it's only because they will count a puddle as a lake. They artificially inflated their numbers because they're so self conscious about it for some reason.

Hi Andre! I live in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, and I love it. Obviously, I have to say come & visit, and I'm sure that there are others besides me that would love to show you our fair city.
Watching from a suburban area right next to St Paul which is the twin in Twin Cities with Minneapolis! I HATE out winters but having ventured out to other states to live in while in my 20's, I ultimately came back to MN because there's just nothing like the people and vibe here. It's an amazing place to raise a family! Proud Minnesotan here!!!! Wish this video would have explored more of all the amazing lakes, waterfalls, and shoreline we have in this state, including in Minneapolis even!!
So the Lakers basketball team actually got started in Minneapolis! When they left and went to California they kept the name Lakers. A lot of people don't know that fact about the Lakers. I am from St. Paul, the capital of Minnesota.
The couple touring Minneapolis did a good job. They did miss a lot of beautiful sights. The basilica, the American swedish institute, the Rose garden near Lake Calhoun, and a lot of beautiful architecture and residential neighborhoods just to name a few. The winters do get cold and a lot of snowfalls but Minneapolis is equipped to handle it very well in most cases. I have lived here for 40 years and sometimes I think I forget what the rest of the US and the world is like. If you ever get a chance definitely come pay us a visit 😁
I’m from Minnesota and lived in Minneapolis for several years and now live in a suburb that borders Minneapolis and it’s a beautiful city as is St. Paul. All of Minnesota is beautiful and diverse in topography. I have two favorite spots outside of the Twin Cities, northern Minnesota is beautiful to hike especially in the late summer and early fall. Southeast MN has some great hiking as well.
“You can go there from where they are with out putting a foot in the street” 😂 i love your accent and loved the video! I’m a MPLS native and this was a fun video to watch 👍🏽
Hello from Minneapolis! I actually live in the connecting city, St. paul but I’m in Minneapolis today! Yes it is freezing here in winter but in Summer and Autumn it’s beautiful here. I used to live right by that spoon with cherry. It’s called SpoonBridge and cherry. Both cities have a skyway, because it’s so extreme cold here in Jan/Feb sometimes. This area has a lot of nature around even though it’s a city
I’m from St. Paul which is the capital but Minneapolis is larger. Both cities are referred to as the Twin Cities. Our winters can be brutal. With the amount of snow and the bitter cold wind winters in Minnesota can be harsh. The skyways (what they called sky bridges) are necessary for winters. Many restaurants and small business line the skyways. Sadly after the pandemic many businesses went remote at least part time and the businesses along the skyway system had to close. They couple doing the video did a great job highlighting the city.
I grew up & live in Minneapolis. Beautiful city & Minnesota is a gorgeous state. Thanks for the amazing video reaction! I love all of your content! Big fan. ☺️💖
Why so many lakes? Glaciers. They mostly planed the surface flat but with grooves and when they retreated dropped icebergs that left huge pockmarks which filled with water. So lots of lakes.
The cherry in the piece was van Bruggen's idea, wanting to use it as a comment on the garden's otherwise staid layout. The spoon itself weighs 5,800 pounds and the cherry, another 1,200 pounds.
As a Minneapolitan who recently discovered your channel, I was stoked to see you get a peek into my wonderful city. Minnesota's weather is quite the mix! You’ve got cold, snowy winters perfect for ice fishing and snowmobiling, while the warm, humid summers are great for boating and hiking. It really shapes a unique way of life here. Definitely worth checking out content showcasing the North Shore along Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). Overall, Minnesota strikes a nice balance between stunning natural beauty and a lively urban vibe.
I live and work in downtown Minneapolis and work for an organization that tries to make Minneapolis the best city we can! Seeing your reactions to Minneapolis made me so very happy. I'm so glad you enjoyed what they showed in the video!!!
I live in St Paul (10 minutes from Minneapolis and the state capital). Minnesota is incredible. If you’re impressed with the city, check out the North Shore area on Lake Superior. It’s absolutely gorgeous and only a 4 hour drive from the city :)
I'm from Rochester in SE Minnesota - home to the Mayo Clinic - about an hour south of the Twin Cities. I love going up to Minneapolis - definitely TONS of places to see & things to do. I fostered pups & dogs from a small rescue in Minneapolis so I'd be up there 2-3 times a week & would always have time to do some things between vet visits & pick ups/drop offs.
Hello my friend. So glad you did a video on Minneapolis, my home town. I am glad you liked it. If you do get a chance to visit, do so during the summer. The winters can be harsh. Beautiful, but harsh. Autumn is also very nice, the weather is better and the view of the trees changing color is spectacular.
I'm born and raised in Minneapolis. It is a beautiful city. Every lake shore is city park. You can hop on a bike and ride around all the lakes and it's a very nice setting.
I live about an hour & 20 minutes south of Minneapolis. Minnesota is known for it's very cold & snowy winters 🥶and its summers are usually pretty hot & muggy 🥵but, the spring and fall are short but very beautiful. 🥳
"Spoonbridge and Cherry" is a part of the Sculpture Garden by the Walker Art Center, and has become an unofficial symbol of the city. There are also many urban legends about people having sex in the spoon. The band Semisonic, which is from Minneapolis, even has a song about it.
From West Saint Paul, not very far from Minneapolis. Cold winters, hot summers, but absolutely wonderful springs and autumns. We've also got a fair number of comic shops because the Twin Cities used to be the home of Shinder's a collectable shop empire founded by three immigrant brothers in 1916, and Charles Shultz (creator of Peanuts) lived in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, as well as other comic icons. Prince lived in Minnesota, with his home and studio still remaining as a mix of museum and work space. Bob Dylan was also from Minnesota, and spent a large portion of his life in Minneapolis. We also have a great number of game stores, especially tabletop gaming, and one of D&D's creators lived in Saint Paul, Dave Arneson, whose differences in gameplay from Gary Gygax are more prominent in modern TTRPGs, whereas more Gygaxian gameplay is found in Old School Renaissance TTRPGs instead. There may be many larger cities that welcome geek culture and pop culture in genearl, but the Twin Cities area has embraced it for over a century.
I grew up in Oakdale which is just outside the twin cities, went to Minneapolis more as a kid than I care to do now. But I have fond memories of the museums and the sculpture garden, First Ave, and other various places. Minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes, but there's actually closer to 12,000. (10,000 just has a better ring to it I guess) It's mainly due to the glaciers that covered the state ages ago and the erosion that left gaping holes plus the melt water that was left behind and TA DA! Lakes everywhere. I technically drive past 4 different lakes on my 18 minute drive to work every day. (plus some ponds)
Hello from the Twin Cities! Great art museums, theatres, and live music venues, amazing food, neverending entertainment options, so many lakes and rivers to explore, and wonderful people. I love it, and I love that our winters keep the weak away, more room on the lake for your boat in the summer! ✌️💙🏀

Our connection to water and lakes in Minneapolis is integral to the heartbeat of our amazing city... and beer, we have really good beer here 😆
Andre my friend, I absolutely loved your reactions to my home city of Minneapolis, I was born and raised in South Minneapolis and you are very correct... Minneapolis is a very gorgeous place to live. Also Minnesota is known as The Land of 10,000 Lakes ! Be well my friend..😊 Corey Ray
Minnesota is called the upper Midwest. Minneapolis has an average of 65" of snow and can have temps down to -30f. Up North in Embarrass, MN is the coldest place in the US
I grew up in St. Paul, MN. The capitol of Minnesota and the other part of the twin cities. If you come here you should really visit both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Each of them have their own unique atmosphere. Minneapolis is more modern and full of art and has a great music scene, while St. Paul is more focused on staying historic and appreciating the past and has a love of the theater. Both are a must see as well as having a huge state fair! One thing about living here is that you can't go 2 or 3 blocks without bumping into a lake, so there are always a lot of water activities going on. If you come in the winter though bring your warmest clothes, but we celebrate our cold weather also. St. Paul has a winter carnival with ice sculptures, ice skating, ice fishing contests and much more. While Minneapolis has a holidazle parade that is a must see. We love all of our weather and know how to have a great time no matter what the season. I know you would love it here.
Ugh. Don't remind me that winter is coming! Fall was unseasonably warm this year, upper 70s and sunny for the past week at the end of Sept! Then, yesterday, it dropped over 20 degrees overnight. Went from wearing swimsuit to layers in less than 12 hours! Time to dig out long undies and get a new winter coat and boots.
One additional nice thing about Minneapolis. Those 22 lakes are generally all public parks as well! Anyone can go and have a picnic, go swimming at certain lakes, or just enjoy a nice walk!
I've grown up in Minnesota and still live here. They missed some of the better known iconic landmarks and places, like the Prince mural in Downtown Minneapolis, 1st AV, the Viking Stadium built to resemble a Viking ship, Minnehaha falls, the Zoo and their cageless environment. Lots of things just in the Twin City area alone. I was kind of disappointed, but they didn't have a guide. Next time I should volunteer. 😃
My dad stood on top of the crown of the building with the crown on it. My dad worked construction and helped build up Minneapolis’s skyline. He has done everything from renovations on some of the older buildings to helping build the US Bank Stadium.
I have moved to California for several years, twice, and moved back to Minnesota, the Minneapolis metro area, each time. I am here to stay this time. I do love this state, cold weather and all.
The Minneapolis skyway system is awesome. As an office worker I can get errands done, Go to lunch many blocks away and just get my 10,000 steps in the winter, rain, etc. away from traffic lights and weather. It's the best thing ever if you work or live downtown. The IDS courtyard is know as The Crystal Court. They used to also have an observation floor/restaurant at the top of the building. Sort of like the old World Trade buildings "Windows on the World" restaurant. The Weissman Museum's architect is Frank Gehry. He also did the fist at the Sculpture Garden building.

I love Minneapolis and St Paul. We lived in neighboring North Dakota and went there when we needed a big city fix.
You have a really distorted view of clean, probably due to your experience in that hell hole of California.
Glad you are here. CA isn't bad either. Just more crowded and more busy. I have several relatives there, including one that is the proud parent of a Rhodes Scholar.
The twin cities is gorgeous. The many lakes and in the summer and fall the foliage is like fairytale landscape.
@@redneckcoder Why be so negative? There's beauty in all American cities. The distorted view is yours.
@@RonErickson-w6n Oh yes an indoctrinated sprog is so much to be proud of.
The skyways are in both Minneapolis and St. Paul, it's was built so you don't have to go outside during the very cold winters or hot summers
Lived in St. Paul and was able to travel in the skyways all winter
Duluth has a skywalk system too - it's extremely helpful up north in winter!
There can be many days in a row that the temp doesn't go above 0 F (-17C)
The recorded highest and lowest temps in Minnesota
Highest Temperature 115 °F (46.1 °C) Beardsley
Lowest Temperature −60 °F (−51.1 °C) Tower
Ah yes, remember the days when people actually used the skyways. Now its just empty tunnels.
That wild architecture is Frank Ghery. He also designed the law school I attended in Los Angeles. All of his designs are gorgeous.

Hello from Minnesota! Love your videos!
Hey this is my state. I live in Northern MN now. Used to live in the suburbs.
Minneapolis is such a beautiful city. So glad to see different places
Minnesota is well known for their harsh winters, though our last winter was the mildest in history and was really nice, but it's quite common to have many days between -14 - -30
Also, the reason why they didn't see many people in downtown Minneapolis is because it's primarily a business district, so unless you work there, people will seldom go out there to hangout
Minneapolis weather is similar to Moscow RU
You betcha' !😅
Where you put your long johns on in late Autumn and take them off when it's in consistent double digit temperatures.
So are the politics.
Ope!

Transplant to MN in 2008. The winters can be a bit much. But, overall I appreciate the great restaurants, theater, Mall of America, Duluth, light rail and Amtrak, airport is great. Now live in NW suburbs. Really like it here! And - don't forget Prince!
You had to have been floored the first time you saw natives jogging in a t-shirt on a lovely 40 degree February day.
Hello from Minneapolis! I love the city and am very happy to live here!
Thank you for your video and hope you come to visit us sometime (but better make it in the spring or summer)... blessings.

@@jackjacobson3893it not called that because they invented it but because of how Anoka celebrates it.

Minnesota has 11,842 bodies of water large enough to be considered lakes.

So the Lakers basketball team actually got started in Minneapolis! When they left and went to California they kept the name Lakers. A lot of people don't know that fact about the Lakers. I am from St. Paul, the capital of Minnesota.
Considering LA has no lakes it should be a well known fact honestly
When it is 40 degrees below zero centigrade, like it can be for weeks in Minnesota, the Skyway is a lifesaver.
Southeast MN has some great hiking as well.

Welcome to Minnesota where we have over 10,000 lakes Everyone grew up by a lake, even in the city. Plus rivers everywhere!
Also the runoff from the melting glacers dug out lots of extremely deep lakes, 3 or 4 hundred deep or more.
Minnesota in winter....
Think: central Norway....
Finally, you featured Minneapolis, MN, one of the most underrated city and state.
The cherry in the piece was van Bruggen's idea, wanting to use it as a comment on the garden's otherwise staid layout. The spoon itself weighs 5,800 pounds and the cherry, another 1,200 pounds.

Minneapolis born and raised
I'm from Minneapolis! It's a BEAUTIFUL CITY!
Hello from the Twin Cities! Great art museums, theatres, and live music venues, amazing food, neverending entertainment options, so many lakes and rivers to explore, and wonderful people.
I’m from southern Minnesota the craziest part is driving through the cities and than right outside of the cities it’s fields and country side.
It's back in the u0s today. We have really had a temperature Rollercoaster lately.
One additional nice thing about Minneapolis. Those 22 lakes are generally all public parks as well! Anyone can go and have a picnic, go swimming at certain lakes, or just enjoy a nice walk!
I'm in Minnesota, I live in a Minneapolis suburb. It really is a hidden gem. So many great restaurants, theaters and museums.
This is nice tour, but there is so much more to the city and also don't forget about Saint Paul.
The skyways are great in the cold of winter and heat/humidity of summer.
Hi from St Paul (sister city with Minneapolis as the twin cities!)
Hi--I am an art curator in Minneapolis. The Spoon and Cherry is by American artist Claes Oldenburg. It is an homage to a malt or shake, icon of the American dinner culture. There used to be a bunch of dinners across the region. Hence the spoon and cherry!
Yeah, the skyways are really nice in the winter.
