Nothing on the Q-tips, no oil? Why not use new water instead of pouring in the old water? Also, why only some of the old water goes back in? You don't fill it completely? What is in the white bottle, just silicone? Thanks.

My pump becomes sucked back when pumping after few strocks just like some vaccum is created within it . What may be the problem?
Watch 7:07 to replace or tighten the O-ring. I have had the same issue and solved it successfully.
Or check the rubber ball at 9:09, replace the tiny rubber ball.
Is it dry cotton on the stick, or it's wet with oil?

It is just water,
Use antifreeze if you are in cold climate or distilled water in hot climate. Don't use ordinary water, it can cause rust.
